McGlynn answering the absentees and their reasoning why, followed by asking the interviewer “unless you know any different” was odd. As others said, coming across like he’s feeling the pressure and a bag of nerves.

Sorry, that’s a couple of people mentioning getting some loans in. With what money? I know we won’t be paying full wages in some scenarios but doubt teams will let their players away for free.
Another uninspiring performance but grateful for the win. Couldn’t see what the gameplan was especially in the second half with how we’d plan to score.
Next two games will be interesting.

Really good update again. Some interesting figures and an honest view of where we are.
I'm still disappointed we have an unsustainable budget and a squad of this poor quality though.
Feels like the worst of both worlds.
Couldn’t agree more with this. This squads budget will leave us hundreds of thousands of pounds in the red, and it’s a poorly assembled squad missing key positions.

We’ve not learned from the mistakes of last year.

Apologies if this has been answered.
As the best part time club, with what I assume is reasonable finances, what’s stopping you signing the best part time players from Scotland/lowest full time wage players from Scotland?

But I was lead to believe McGlynn and team have done extensive research on all players signed? If he's barely fit enough now why on earth did we sign, let alone pay money for, the guy?
We paid a very nominal fee for Allan, and it was a panic buy.

Surely not an encouraging sign if Hamilton are outbidding you for a key midfielder and star left back from last year?

How on earth did that goals conceded comment get not one, but TWO nibbles? My word, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Couldn’t care less about performances and results in friendlies, I thought Dallison was an absolute baller in one of those so goes to show how useful it is to judge players on! (Okay, only one example).
However I wouldn’t write the league cup off as pre season. I’d be using these competitive games to boost our finances where possible and give us the best preparation to start the season with.
Do agree with most we are clearly missing a right back, a dominant defensive midfielder and a proper striker. But it’s early doors.

Signing a back up keeper on loan from a club down south will be cheaper than us signing one permanently so I'm ok with this.
Only played one game for Bromley whilst on loan for the second half of the season.
Great goalkeeping for the second goal.
Wonder where MacDonald is off to then.

Only watched the first minute myself. It’s actually worse than I remember.
If you don’t laugh you cry. Amazingly bad.

McDonald and Hogarth here we go, surely the former has to be number 1?

Kinda makes you wonder why they never took Agyeman...
I suspect because he’s a good punt for League One but not ready for the Championship.

I remember Stuart Kennedy in the woody. My friend had a stinking hangover and wanted a lager tops. “We don’t do cocktails here” he replied.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they both end up here, both have rejected deals with your lot and we know mcglynn rates them with supposedly a couple more players set to be announced next week. Also wouldn’t surprise me if they end up elsewhere as it’s all pure conjecture on my part, I’m just joining the dots.
What would surprise you?

Been reliably informed Spencer won’t be joining us. Unsure about McDonald

Thought I’d drop in to say goodbye to the biggest club in cinch league 1. All the best on your 5th consecutive season in cinch league 1. I’ll miss the pumpings we gave you in cinch league 1. Maybe scrape the cinch league 1 playoffs next season. Accept the mediocrity.
Thanks bro. Hopefully not here for 10 consecutive years like Airdrie United were, but you never know! Enjoy the second tier.

Robbie Mutch away to Ayr. If he’s going as first choice I’d be worried. Hopefully get our goalkeeper announcement soon.

Imagine caring about a training top, my word. It’s a nice day out there today folks make the most of it.

How far we’ve fallen, guys like Morrison absolutely shat at when it mattered but hey ho, it’s fine as we won’t get better in this league. Maybe if McGlynn got of his arse and looked at players outwith a thirty mile radius, we’d be in a better place.
Players signed out with a 30 mile radius of Falkirk last season:
Hogarth
Kinnear
Wright
Rowe
Yeats
Lawall
Burrell
Meekison
Max
I’m sure your comment wasn’t 100% serious but just to highlight the players signed out with Glasgow or Edinburgh connections. As you’ll know, not all have been great.
It’s a squad game and if we somehow managed to get better than Morrison, I’d take him in the games where we need a flat track bully.
Likelihood is we won’t get better and need other players to step up, offensively when he’s off the boil, and defensively, eh, across the whole pitch and a lot better than last year.

Reflecting on this, wonder if we had similar reaction to Dowds signing. A hardly prolific striker playing at part time level in this league.

As I said before you aren't going to get part time players to give up their day jobs on a one year punt at full time football. The main problem under the last bunch of cretins was that we were handing out two and three year deals to utter shite.
Yet to be convinced our signings so far are any different. If that’s the case we shouldn’t be taking punts on average part time players.
Agree with Springfield, a real stark contrast between the contracts offered and what the CEO has said regarding part time. Hopefully a clause in the contracts but I’m concerned this is Holt mk2 with these signings so far.

A one year punt as a back up option if we’re needing a bit more height, fair enough.
We’ve said about signing good players from our rivals as a transfer strategy. Signing the one striker that scored the least from a team that finished lower, and their fans would pick to release first wasn’t what I had in mind.
Agyman I could get as a bit of a wildcard. This I’m underwhelmed at.
Prove me wrong Ross!

Queens v Alloa
in Scottish League 1 General Chatter

Surely Queens will fancy this after their unbeaten League Cup run.
Although the task will be trickier without Wilson, Doherty and Brydon who’ve been ruled out of Saturdays game.
