You need to remember we are in league 1 and he's got a better standard of players than the stuff we had in the championship and even some of the stuff in the premiership. Alloa on Saturday imo was abysmal and at times we were lucky not to lose. Rankin then goes and brings Hewitt and Tait on and leaves our top goal scorer in the league and arguably our best player on the bench. QOTS the week before as I've  said before was our best performance of the season and everyone deserves credit for that. Annan Away I thought the majority of the players were excellent but again Rankin's changes nearly cost us the game bringing Mumbongo on which was like playing with 9 men with already having the sending off. Hewitt should have never of came on either and he brought Marley on for his first game in months which was also a bad decision players deserve credit for that game but if that Annan strike in the 95th minute which hit the post goes in it's a completely different story. Kelty was abysmal everything about that game was abysmal. Raith the week before was also pretty poor and Rankin should have subbed O'Brien on the second Kilday got sent instead of waiting until we go another 2 goals down then he goes and chucks 4 subs on at once but I will be nice and give him the benfit of the doubt as Raith are a very good team I've watched them a couple of times since that game and they have impressed me. Stirling 5-0 we were decent however I think a big part of that game was due to how knackered and done the Stirling players were. Cove 1-0 again was a big part due to Rankin bringing Stephen Hendrie on for Connor Murray when we were going for a goal will never make sense to me we concede the goal a couple of minutes later due to that sub. Not to mention that we also drew to Edinburgh City at Home a couple of weeks before as well. I think we've got a lot to be positive at the minute at the club the new owner has made a great start at getting fans back on the clubs side and we've had the best summer transfer window in years. I just have no faith that Rankin is the man to lead it and a lot of the decisions he's made in the past 18 months backs that up. I would love to be proved wrong and he ends up getting us promoted this season I just highly doubt that will be the case.

I put today’s shocker down go McGlynn’s team selection. Goal aside, Nesbitt was awful. No idea how he got man of the match. Morrison was also very poor. Kept coming short, not going in behind and just really disappointing. We looked much better when Alfie and Ross came on. Miller should have stayed on instead of Nesbitt too.

    100% agree with this.

  3. Think others have mentioned it earlier but if funds allowed, I’d be aiming to get a striker in the mould of MacIver if he does go off form or injured.

Allan getting 11 goals in a terrible Clyde suggested he’d do well in a better team creating chances but he doesn’t get the space he’d get with teams sitting deeper against us.

The system works well with having the number 9 as a focal point who can hold the ball up, and link up play with the 3 in behind, either with their head or their feet. MacIver had been pivotal for that to work this season in the way that it didn’t work last year, with the exception of Alegria at a push.

If it meant loaning Allan out to get a loan replacement in I would go for that. I’d have said the same with Oliver but because he can drop further back if needed, his versatility may be good to have for the rest of this season.

Alternatviely if we wanted something different to MacIver we’ve not got a striker with electric pace, albeit you could potentially have Aggyman up there.

Think some of the reactions are way over the top here. We've dropped 4 points, we're in the quarter finals of the SPFL Trophy.

You keep saying we've been 'lucky'. No, we've been solid at the back for the most part so narrow leads have been enough. We create a lot of chances, start worrying when that stops, the second half yesterday was the first time this season (other than Falkirk but we had different tactics that day) where we didn't create chances.

We've been absolutely dross to watch god knows how long, stretching back to our Premiership days. For the most part, we've played some pretty nice football this season and we're very much in contention to win the league. Drop the negativity and let's actually support the team, easy to see why we don't play as well at home because the atmosphere is so negative as soon as one bad thing happens.

We're in the best place we've been for years, Seref has said Rankin is his man, so let's just support what he's trying to do because I for one have enjoyed watching it most weeks this season.

Voice of reason. It’ll be very close between the two of us this season.

We absolutely must target him and keep him on the defensive as he does not have a tackle in him.

Oh absolutely. There’s no logic to what I said, he was a hopeless defender for us and I’d be targeting attacks at him. It’s just that irrational feeling football can give at times.

Yes, Williamson I was referring to. Thanks for the update, and funny how he seems to be injury free now. Very similar circumstances to another ex midfielder player who seemed to be on the injury table for many games, signs for Raith and has hardly missed a game in two seasons.

Referring to Aidan Connelly? Played 8 minutes this season according to Transfermrkt due to injury as we approach October.
