Broken record but we really need an alternative for when it’s not working with MacIver, who’s been a great signing so far.

Took a worldie to beat Montrose last time we played them, wasn’t to be tonight.

Sorry if this has been covered before but just seen on Twitter Lewis Strapp is playing in a reserve game for Kilmarnock today as a trialist.
Surprised to see he’s not had a club since he left you in the summer. Why did he leave Morton?

Not for the first time and not for the last, can I request a separate thread for Falkirk FC board related chat. Would still have more pages than any football chat, even if we won a league I reckon, and would keep the majority of fans happy in the football only thread. Cheers

It’s gonna be one of those weeks is it?
Can someone do a one line summary of the last few pages so I can understand and move on with my day?

I put today’s shocker down go McGlynn’s team selection. Goal aside, Nesbitt was awful. No idea how he got man of the match. Morrison was also very poor. Kept coming short, not going in behind and just really disappointing. We looked much better when Alfie and Ross came on. Miller should have stayed on instead of Nesbitt too.
100% agree with this.

Fair play to Hamilton, can only beat what’s in front of you, but no surprise a comfortable victory at home to Stirling Albion.
Although we won today, as Todd is God has mentioned, clawing back on the goal difference is a massive boost.
16th December is going to be tasty!

Think others have mentioned it earlier but if funds allowed, I’d be aiming to get a striker in the mould of MacIver if he does go off form or injured.
Allan getting 11 goals in a terrible Clyde suggested he’d do well in a better team creating chances but he doesn’t get the space he’d get with teams sitting deeper against us.
The system works well with having the number 9 as a focal point who can hold the ball up, and link up play with the 3 in behind, either with their head or their feet. MacIver had been pivotal for that to work this season in the way that it didn’t work last year, with the exception of Alegria at a push.If it meant loaning Allan out to get a loan replacement in I would go for that. I’d have said the same with Oliver but because he can drop further back if needed, his versatility may be good to have for the rest of this season.
Alternatviely if we wanted something different to MacIver we’ve not got a striker with electric pace, albeit you could potentially have Aggyman up there.

Queens tactic against us last time very nearly worked, go down that route again and it’ll be a lot tighter than the home crowd expect.

The front 3 quite interchangeable which is good. Have a feeling he may play Oliver in the 10 again and have one of Ross/Alfie/Miller to bring on if the game isn’t going well.

Sam Long and who?
Morrison. Would move Alfie out right, Calvin Miller out left and have Ross through the middle if it were up to me.

Bettermeddle has no date for our first ever game, but the next 3 took place in late March and April 1877.
So probably one of the Saturdays in early March: the 16th, 9th or 2nd.
We are the Falkirk Bairns

Think some of the reactions are way over the top here. We've dropped 4 points, we're in the quarter finals of the SPFL Trophy.
You keep saying we've been 'lucky'. No, we've been solid at the back for the most part so narrow leads have been enough. We create a lot of chances, start worrying when that stops, the second half yesterday was the first time this season (other than Falkirk but we had different tactics that day) where we didn't create chances.
We've been absolutely dross to watch god knows how long, stretching back to our Premiership days. For the most part, we've played some pretty nice football this season and we're very much in contention to win the league. Drop the negativity and let's actually support the team, easy to see why we don't play as well at home because the atmosphere is so negative as soon as one bad thing happens.
We're in the best place we've been for years, Seref has said Rankin is his man, so let's just support what he's trying to do because I for one have enjoyed watching it most weeks this season.
Voice of reason. It’ll be very close between the two of us this season.

Could you do worse than get Allan Johnston back? Knows his way out of League One.

Be careful what you say. Falkirk have been saying this for five years. They are an established seaside league team now.
Typing through the tears. Hope you stayed up to watch the highlights.

Ryan, you clearly read social media and this message board. I hope you have a great evening.
Agree Montrose look best of the rest. Had said that about Qots but more so in a defensive sense. Montrose good at the back and threatening going forward.
Next week is huge.

We absolutely must target him and keep him on the defensive as he does not have a tackle in him.
Oh absolutely. There’s no logic to what I said, he was a hopeless defender for us and I’d be targeting attacks at him. It’s just that irrational feeling football can give at times.

I have a horrible feeling Williamson will end up having the game of his life defensively.

Yes, Williamson I was referring to. Thanks for the update, and funny how he seems to be injury free now. Very similar circumstances to another ex midfielder player who seemed to be on the injury table for many games, signs for Raith and has hardly missed a game in two seasons.
Referring to Aidan Connelly? Played 8 minutes this season according to Transfermrkt due to injury as we approach October.

According to ESPN, Brad Spencer has 2 goals and 3 assists (joint top most assists in the league) after 6 games. What a great signing he’s been so far, even without the end product, his influence on the game has been just what we’ve been needing.

My post yesterday was in jest, I think Queens will be comfortably third this year if they defend like that. Definitely had the best chance of the first half too.
Really missed Miller wide and Aggyman playing off MacIver, looked like one up front and the big man was isolated.
