  1. Ian Ross was such an important part of our promotion, playing LWB in Hendrie’s 3-4-3. I’d imagine his assists stats were high double figures that season. from memory, he hardly kicked a ball the following season in the top league. Was it some sort of abdominal injury? From there he drifted away and end up down the leagues. Hypothetical, but if he’d been fit I’m sure we’d have performed better that season.
  2. Painted the away dressing room black then we got relegated (or did it the season after relegation, canny mind).
  3. He’s hardly kicked I ball for a year, I think. Doubt he’ll get a call at this stage.
  4. He has one of the caravans in that wee park at the top of Murray Street.
  5. He looks a bit short on confidence at the moment, but definitely a player there. A goal or two soon and he’ll kick on.
  6. We’ll potentially see us move more to a 5-3-2 with Kiltie dropping deeper. Can see Scott starting and playing off Ayunga or big Mika.
  7. If we ended up with Stav away and KVV in, I’d definitely take that!
  8. Definitely creating fewer chances without Strain in the team. I also feel that we create fewer chances with Ayunga up top as he wants to get on the ball quite deep, rather than get beyond. Strain. Ayunga. Combination of both. Couple of big games coming up where we’ll definitely need to be scoring more than one goal.
  9. He’s taking the piss based on earlier comments in the thread…
  10. He’s definitely better when playing with Strain. It’s probably the reason why Strain started the season so well too. Strain attacks the overlap and McMenamin cuts inside. I’d imagine he had the final pass to Strain for most of Strain’s assists.
  11. https://theathletic.com/3997280/2023/07/07/thierry-small-southampton-transfer/ article from back in the summer. He needs games and has the raw ingredients to be a player, but there’s definitely something around his discipline (tactically and getting sent off twice!).
  12. That’s not the answer to the question though…. In terms of chucking balls into the box, surely it would make sense to start big Mika? I also think Ayunga should drop out and put him back in for Celtic. agreed on Strain being a big miss. Our system is built for him. A 4-3-3 makes sense with him missing, but doubt we’ll see a change now.
  13. There’s probably a case to freshen things up a little given the recent run of from. Bolton in to replace Gogic or on the right to allow Fraser to push up? Could Small play on the right?
  14. Guaranteed Motherwell win and for Well fans to post “our reserves are better than Saints greatest ever side.”
  15. Not sure what’s happened, but his career has dropped off the last couple of years. Don’t think he was getting much of a look in at Cove, although could be wrong.
  16. The new structure definitely helps him. Having Kiltie in front of him just gives him that added cover defensively, and someone to play closely to in an attacking sense.
  17. 89th minute? That’s a bit premature. Probably still around 11 minutes for us to find the winner.
  18. Yeah, doesn’t make much sense from a Hearts perspective. Doesn’t he play as a ‘number 10’? If so, he wouldn’t really fit into our system.
  19. Lennon isn’t a keeper, unless there’s another one not related to Neil.
  20. Doesn’t matter. The Johnnies are going down this season. We can be pals with the rest Confident we’ll be bringing in another keeper now and, given his wages, maybe improve the quality of the LWB we’ll look at.
