Junior football, what is the future?
AlanCamelonfan replied to Burnie_man's topic in Junior Football
But why should west juniors get above anyone just because there wasn't a west senior league where east juniors suffer because there was east seniors. If they r doing it should be lowland league then west league sit below that -

My point was on teams who currently win stuff going somewhere where they won't. Not as your looking at it that there will always be teams winning nothing. -

The sun doesn't sponsor lowland league. They did first season it's ferrari packaging. We all been there with clubs that have had money and not done anything with grounds. The sea struggled to get sponsors for league and cups . -

But as has been said already pot will get thinner. There's not going to be more money put in coz 100 junior clubs join. Better organisation. The main problem is lack of lights in juniors. -

The majority maybe don't but The teams in both west and East super leagues have a good chance at a cup. In recent years you have had teams like Musselburgh get to junior cup finals. -

Just because they didn#'t say it doesn't mean they don't think it. -

They'd maybe gain if they got into the league but not going into lowland league. Edinburgh city have gained it by allowing hibs and hearts season ticket holders in when their senior teams away. Thats a bit of thinking outside the box but will it happen or help long term. If my team went down that route i'd follow them regardless of what league they are in just because i'm like that but I don't think we'd gain extra fans out of it -

That doesn't make it right or better than we currently have. You sound like what the Junior beaks are always criticised for its the way its always been. Theres no interest in Senior non-league for the reason they aren't top of the tree. Juniors is seen as an extra and when these teams are succesful crowds go up. You always get hte others coming from senior games for big Junior cup ties. Didn't happen for East Kilbride at stenny last year and hasn't happened in the betfred for them this year. Jock stein once said the game is nothing without fans. But seems to me people are forgetting about the fans and its all about money. Teams aren't going to get extra fans because they are going into a senior league. Kelty will have an interest for the first while but like everything else when the novelty wears off they'll just be like everyone else. -

But not for likes of Auchinleck and linlithgow who are generally successful most years -

Don't be stupid. East Kilbride are never going to win bet Fred cup. So if Auchinleck done it they'd be going from winning trophies every season to winning nothing. To get more prize money. I think interest would eventually drop after the novelty factor wears off -

But this is my point be financially better to a point because hte more teams in it the pot gets thinner. However financial over cup success. The Non-league game will become like the senior game all about the money rather than trying to win a league or a cup. -

Thats upto them just don't think that gardens rosey as everyone here is making out. People think going into this is better than what we've got I just don't see it as that. How much interest has there been in east kilbrides Betfred campaign and beating Stenhousemuir none. Attendance 201. -

The standard of the Lowland league has to be called into question here. Hawick Royal Albert lost 7-0 at spartans on Saturday. They lost 10-0 at home to selkirk. Absolute shocking state of affairs for the game -
