Just popped up on our facebook/twitter pages; HUGE THANKS TO OUR FANS Attendances at LP this season were up 25% to 21,149, cheering us on to our highest league finish since 1992. Our away support continued to be strong, with overall attendance figures for matches featuring the Mighty Mo (home and away) reaching an incredible 41,185.

Fair comment, but one thing that is clear at Montrose now is the number of people who now come to the games who wouldn't have done so in the past as they have a connection with the club due to using the plastic pitch and the facilities at Links Park. Hasn't happened overnight but has slowly built up over the last 12 years. I've just always thought given the size of Arbroath, the club should attract at least double our attendances and felt that maybe there is an opportunity being missed here?

Last game of season 2018/19 against Elgin we had about 2400 at LP which means we probably had around 1800 glory hunters turn up that day. When we won the league in 1985 we had nowhere near that crowd. There were a lot more women/kids at the game as well so are we seeing the long term benefits of the plastic pitch/community club setup? Not having a go at Arbroath here, just genuinely curious about this. If Gayfield went plastic would home crowds slowly increase? Are Forfar seeing any improvement in attendances? Would be interested in other fans thoughts on this.

I wondered if Arbroath fans felt dissapointed with their crowds given their hugely impressive championship win? I thought there would have been much more fairweather/glory hunting fans at the last Arbroath-Montrose derby (aknowledging that our away support was poor that day). Also thought the attendance v Raith was less than I thought it would be. Maybe because it was Easter Sunday?

Enjoyed the day out despite the score. Great stadium, good crowd and great atmosphere with Mo fans in full voice. Always liked Queens as a club and hope you do over Raith in the next leg. From what we have seen of the big time Charlies form Kirkaldy this season, you'll have no probelm against them

Think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head there. Been a great season for us with no particularly outstanding individuals, just a lot of great team performances involving petty much everyone in the squad. Agree with your comments re Callaghan and Webby as they haven't featured much & I wonder if they will be offloaded to allow one or two new signings. I think a lot of these decisions may be on hold just now until we are sure of which league we will be in next season. After years of shite at Montrose, what a great position we currently find ourselves in. Long may it continue!

I think your right about needing to strengthen the squad. We are currently paying the price for our lack of transfer success in the summer as we are now basically playing in a higher league with the same team as last season team minus three of its best players.
