  1. Fair play to Genoa, they were brilliant. What a game though. Napoli won their game 4-2, but have to settle for third. Hopefully still some #scenes to come in the Crotone and Empoli games. I like Empoli, but hoping Crotone can stay up in their first season.
  2. Perotti makes it 3-2 in the final minute.
  3. Genoa hit the post now. Roma are making an arse of this.
  4. Roma in front...De Rossi with the goal.
  5. Napoli lead 2-0 at Samp and have overtaken Roma.
  6. Dzeko has Roma level and they've missed a couple of great chances since. Very good game so far.
  7. Roma losing 1-0 after 2 minutes. Pellegri who only turned 16 a couple months back scoring for Genoa.
  8. Cracking game between Cagliari and Milan, especially considering there was nothing to play for for either side. Cagliari winning 2-1 with the last kick of the game. Milan got two penalties and missed one, scored one. Paletta got sent off. Again. Cagliari missed a fair few chances, including hitting the bar (as did Milan) and having a goal chopped off which was debatable. Roma v Genoa and Samp v Napoli the 5pm games to decide who finishes 2nd/3rd. Then the final 5 games are at 7:45pm which will decide the final relegation place.
  9. Wolfsburg V Braunschweig about to start on BT, looking forward to it. Interested to see how Nyman gets on for Braunschweig, watched him a lot at Norrköping before he moved but haven't seen him since. Seems to have chipped in with a few goals this season.
  10. Unlucky, as they'll need to get past Parma do so. Cracking draw this. Lucchese scraped through their tie, and are probably the weakest side left having finished 9th in their group. Parma won both meetings with Pordenone in the league, winning 4-2 away having been 2-0 down, and 3-2 at home having been 2-1 down with a minute left. They did only finish one place and four points behind Parma though. Cosenza finished 7th in their group so aren't much to fear. Lecce being paired with Alessandria is perfect as they were the sides I was dreading the most, so one of them has to go out this round. Livorno another of the stronger sides in the play-offs also could end up facing one of those two. Ideally Reggiana will make it through as they are pish, with Parma having won both games against them this season. Quietly confident Parma can do this.
  11. Pordenone 3-1 Gianna Erminio (4-3) Juve Stabia 0-0 Reggiana (1-2) Livorno 0-0 Virtus Francavilla (0-0) Albino Leffe 0-0 Lucchese (0-1) Alessandria 3-1 Casertana (4-2) Lecce 0-0 Sambenedettese (1-1) Parma 2-0 Piacenza (2-0) Matera 1-1 Cosenza (2-3) Tonights results, with the teams in bold all going through and the aggregate scores in the brackets obviously. Nocciolini & Baraye got the two Parma goals in the second half, Piacenza finished with 10 men. After both legs ending in draws, the Livorno and Lecce ties were decided on which side in each tie had placed higher during the regular league season. Pretty tough to call from the sides left though. Hopefully Parma can avoid Alessandria in the QF's.
  12. Benevento won 2-1. Semi Finals are across two legs, with the Carpi v Frosinone tie being played this Friday and Monday, with Benevento v Perugia on the Saturday and Tuesday. The second legs of all the Lega Pro ties are tonight, scores from the first legs were: Giana Erminio 2-1 Pordenone Reggiana 2-1 Juve Stabia Virtus Francavilla 0-0 Livorno Lucchese 1-0 Albino Leffe Casertana 1-1 Alessandria Sambenedettese 1-1 Lecce Piacenza 0-0 Parma Cosenza 2-1 Matera 4 ties going in to the second leg level, with the other four only separated by a single goal.
  13. Pescara 2-0 Palermo tonight. Game went pretty much as expected, Palermo pish all over the park whilst Pescara created plenty chances but were hopeless at taking some of them. Also, Carpi beat Cittadella 2-1 to go through to the play-off semi final against Frosinone. Benevento V Spezia is tomorrow night, with the winner playing Perugia.
  14. 0-0 draw. Will take that. Over 1600 in the away end. In Serie A, Inter came from behind to beat Lazio 3-1. Lazio had Keita sent off for two bookings, the second was for diving which was an awful decision. Lulic also sent off, both were in the second half when they 2-1 down. They miss the game away to Crotone next week which definitely improves Crotone's chances of staying up. One game left this weekend and for some reason expecting a decent game tomorrow night, Pescara are good to watch despite being rotten. Hopefully Zeman just goes baws oot for a 5-0 win or something.
  15. In less than an hour Parma kick off their bid to be the second team to disappoint me in play-offs this weekend. They beat Piacenza 2-1 in the Lega Pro Coppa Italia at the start of the season, so something similar tonight would do very nicely.
  16. Ah well. Juve win the league and Milan take the last EL spot. The last relegation place to still be decided next week as well as who will get straight in to the CL group stage. Not as exciting a final weekend as it could have been, but it's still going to be interesting at least. Lazio v Inter tonight & Pescara v Palermo tomorrow night still left to play this weekend.
  17. Just turned it on as there's no early kick-off in Serie A today and noticed Carl Finnigan playing up front for SS, I thought he'd retired! Can't believe he's only 30 as well.
  18. As for the actual football this weekend, a lot of things can be decided. Juve can win the title with a win, a draw keeps Roma and Napoli in it going in to the final weekend. Milan will qualify for the Europa League if they beat Bologna at home, anything less leaves it open for Inter (if they better Milan's result today) and Fiorentina to nick in ahead of them next week. Crotone will be relegated if Empoli win and Genoa can pick up a point. A Crotone defeat and Empoli getting just a point, will keep the last relegation place open until the final weekend. Ideally Crotone will win at least, regardless of the Genoa/Empoli outcomes, and Inter will better Milan's results to have everything going down to the final weekend. Cue Juventus being 3-0 up inside 10 minutes... EDIT: Juve drawing actually means Napoli can't win the league any more due to Napoli coming off second best in the H2H. Oops.
  19. I know. I did keep an eye out for their results up until the new year or so, but kept forgetting after that. I looked them up last night though after you brought them up and seems like it was a shitter of a second half of the season that done them in, only 5 wins in their last 17, and one in their last 11. Also noticed the league winners only lost two games all season, and one of them was on the opening day! Impressive. I think he'll stay and they'll maybe start to phase De Rossi out a bit more, he's 34 in the summer and he's been hit and miss this season. Kessie is good, but I wouldn't be throwing him it at Roma as a starter every week. Bedding him in similarly to what Napoli have done with Diawara might be the best way to go. There seems to be a lot of interest in Paredes as well, maybe they'll use him to fund the Kessie deal instead. It's certain one of them will have to go though if they want Kessie in. I'd like to see him go to Milan instead, they certainly need him more than Roma do. La Gazzetta now linking them with Allegri and Sarri - not a chance. Sky Sport are saying Spalletti has already said he's leaving Roma. If true, I think he'll end up at Inter. For the money they are apparently ready to offer a new manager, they could get much better than him though. I'd like to see them avoid Simeone as well, tbh.
  20. 4-1 it finishes. Very good game that, both sides could have had a few more goals. 2 points between the top three now, although you'd imagine Juve will still will the title tomorrow.
