  1. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the 2 PCAs is Liam Kelly. Hasn't worked under Robinson, but is out-of-contract and his younger brother is our 3rd choice goalie..... Not having a great season, but still only 28 and a recent Scotland cap.
  2. To be denied top 6 now, it would require 2 teams out of Dundee, Aberdeen, Hibs or Motherwell to accumulate 10 more points than us between now and the split (8-10 games). Long odds I'd say. After those back-to-back wins the target must be 4th.
  3. He seemed to be pointing high up the stand on the other side of our dug-out. Very odd.
  4. Trevor (35) six months into a three year contract.
  5. Ross County 3 down at HT last night and made 5 subs in the 2nd half. 2 obvious attacking options, Brophy and Henderson, remained on the bench. That says something. Brophy..... we needed off the wage bill. Henderson though must be waking up every day wondering why he didn't sign the contract we offered. Disastrous move for his career.
  6. Our biggest win at Easter Road since April 1985. 0-4 (Winnie, McAvennie 2, Gallagher). Attendance: 3669. Saints went onto finish 5th. Hibs 8th, 8 points above Dumbarton who were relegated along with Morton.
  7. To me, Dundee look like a top 6 team going forward and a bottom 3 team defensively. In the 7 games since Christmas 15 goals conceded and 0 clean sheets. Hopefully, an entertaining, high-scoring game and home win.
  8. Robbo post-match: Baccus available for the Dundee game. Ryan Strain back in 2 weeks.
  9. My money would be on him returning to Israel shortly, but you never know.
  10. Whenever I see Nahmani off-the-pitch he looks like the textbook young person who's living away from home for the first time and is just too far outside his comfort zone. Some embrace a big life change like that (compare with Keanu's demeanour), others struggle. Might be wrong, but my feeling is that Stav just hasn't settled and would be happy to go back to his friends and family in Israel ASAP.
  11. Was a good effort from Brown considering he was sat in the dug-out.
  12. Accomplished journalism from Chris Jack in the Herald today: "After Souttar made a brilliant block, Jaden Brown headed off the bar."
  13. I think you have to be pleased with our transfer window: Forward line freshened up with Scott in / Greive out. The problems of Strain's injury and Keanu's extended absence addressed by signing Elvis and Kwon. Small's departure covered by the signing of Brown. The staff have done well. We really are a well-run outfit at the moment. Also fortunate (touch wood) that we haven't lost any key players. Last season it was Erhahon, the previous season was McGrath.
  14. Odds on surely that one of the PCAs will be a first choice goalkeeper? Finding one for next season would have been made a priority 6 months ago. Possibly could be Hemming but he is under contract with Boro until 2026.
  15. Thanks, missed that. Jonah is signed up until 2025. I think the following are out of contract: Bolton, Gogic, Dunne, Strain, Bwomono, Flynn, Baccus, Greive, Olusanya, Nahmani. Looks like there will a good bit more churn than we had last summer.
  16. I think I'm right in saying that the only one of our out-and-out centre-forwards under contract beyond the end of the season is Mandron. Maybe we'll see someone coming in on a longer contract this window with the thinking being that Olusanya, Greive and Nahmani will all move on shortly. No guarantee either that Ayunga will be here beyond the summer. It wouldn't surprise me if we were after Nouble.
  17. Robinson post-match talking about "a couple more players" to come in during the week.
  18. Offered a lot last season Curtis but with 13 goals in 74 games, he was not Kevin van Veen. I think we're sensible. 32 in June so he's obviously trying to squeeze as much money out of the game while he can. Must have concluded that he'll be able suck up 3-4 hours in the car every day back and forward from Elderslie to Dundee. Won't be doing the school run any more anyway!
  19. Robinson on Main: "I spoke to Curtis and we made him a very good offer. I have a very good relationship with Curtis and I wish him nothing but good luck. But he has to look after his family as well and we couldn’t compete with that offer and didn’t want to compete at that level. He’s one of many people we have spoken to. When you sign players, they have to be better than what you’ve got. If you pay silly money, it maybe sends things backwards to where they were 18 months ago.”
  20. Another goal for Fraser Taylor yesterday (2 in 2 games). 23 appearances now this season with most of them being the full 90 minutes. Strange that there's been no word yet on whether his loan will be extended or not. Meanwhile, Luke Kenny is still at Cliftonville but has hardly been involved. Think he may have been injured for a spell.
  21. Not an easy transfer window to do deals in, particularly after Brexit. Signings so far.... a guy from the Icelandic league with plenty of experience in England and someone Celtic paid £700K for 6 months ago. On paper, looks like decent wheeling and dealing as we've been used to under Robbo. For comparison, last January, we brought in Small and Watt (sold Erhahon).
  22. Not much of note in the SMISA meeting tonight. Was hoping for a bit of transfer window intel.... The fifteen 1.6x0.8m "Mirren Mile" banners should be installed in March with the official launch v Hearts on April 6th. The Charitable Foundation, helped by SMISA funding, is continuing to do great work: 300+ meals/hampers went out of the club on Xmas Day to those in need. Lots of talk on how to grow SMISA numbers (1200 members but 5000 home fans at games). An U16 Junior SMISA membership will launch in a couple of months: £30/year with benefits TBC. Just to make sure it wasn't all positive, Kenny somebody had a right good moan at the end about SMISA's hiring of a media consultant many months ago. I zoned out at that point.
  23. I think the idea is that the prospect of a reduced lifespan, as well as the last 10/15 years of your life being a bit shit due to decades of being overweight, that might act as a better motivator than looking good in particular item of clothing.
  24. This recently-released Michael Mosley podcast with an obesity expert is good: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001tscq?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile The 5 tips for weight loss: 1. You will probably have to eat less but focus on the types of food you're eating, not the calories. 2. Exercise is a great thing but not as the main tool for weight loss (because it makes you want to eat more). It's best-utilised after weight loss to help keep the weight off. 3. Eat more plants. 4. Focus on losing weight to live longer not to look better. 5. There is no one perfect diet: find one that best suits your lifestyle.
