  1. In fact, even if you let the OF do their own thing (provided they and the rest of the league can both broadcast the games) the rest of the teams should be doing something like this. It's all about continuing to raise the profile and find new revenue streams. Split the operating profit based on viewing figures or individual teams' subscribers if needs be. As long as the costs are covered it's a no brainer.
  2. A joined up approach akin to how the NFL work their gamepass system is the answer. They've done away with a lot of the variations now, but you used to be able to sign up to either your own teams' games (live, "as-live" & various lengths of highlights i.e. "game in 60", extended or condensed), or a broader package for not that much more where you could stream every teams games and highlights. Plenty of people would pay for that second package, especially if (as the NFL did) you pair it up with oodles of additonal content such as Hard Knocks (behind the scenes pre-season with a different team each year) and RedZone (think, Soccer Saturday but with the actual footage from the games) - you could even have a different extra package for the cups. Trying to structure a deal that will benefit the Old Firm and not make the whole thing financially pointless (or worse, loss-leading) for everyone else will be the challenge, but at some point it makes sense to make every single game available.
  3. It's been down a few days now. I must admit, I was a little sad to see it go but at the same time it's a relief to be free of it.
  4. If we can't trade down and turn #3 & #13 into a better haul I'll be disappointed. There's no "one thing" that we need. We need many, many things. I get the feeling no-one will try to jump all the way up to #3, but #13 might be worth something.
  5. I hate it. I hate how I get sucked in too. I took on helping out back when Adrian was still around but I've literally heard nothing from him in ages and I'm left holding the can for it. I'd quite happily walk away now if I could.
  6. I think you're forgetting Craig Curran could also win a foul pretty much anywhere he wanted.
  7. I haven't watched the Lions much this year but I can now confirm, we won't be getting the #1 pick this year. No way that Lions team are going to pick up 2 wins from here.
  8. It's all about execution. The Rams plan isn't a great model to follow, but they've done it well. You could argue Bill O'Brien was trying and horrifically failing at doing similar for a while by spending all of his draft picks too. Stockpiling draft picks should be a good way to build up a team, but many teams do an absolutely dreadful job of it too. Every GM thinks they're a genius, but if they're genuinely good at their job then there's more than one way to skin a cat.
  9. Hours to go until the trade deadline. Will Watson get his move? John McClain at the Houston Chronicle (the guy who gets spoon fed by the Texans) claims Watson's trying to settle the claims so that he can move today.
  10. That's nice of them. It's a thoroughly horrible experience at the best of times anyway.
  11. It's a temporary ban at the moment. Essentially I've given him a time-out in the corner. Nothing has been deleted, except the "thread title" of his new thread which merged back into the Dundee Utd one. It was a lovely attack on myself and Forfinn.
  12. Of all our championship residing former forwards Brian Graham would be the one that would most comfortably step back up to this level again. Brian Graham > Jordan White Billy Mackay > Alex Samuel Edit: Also, P&B > OTB. Burn it, burn it now.
  13. "Shall I go down one step, to cut out that rusty beam?" "No, no, it's perfect. The dim lighting, the shadow from the flash, the rusty steel. Just perfect."
  14. The Adams' situation became toxic because there was two of them, and the relationship with Roy and some of the players became an "us" vs "them" mentality. I would happily take either Adams back, just not both of them.
  15. Probably a more succinct version of what I was trying to say.
  16. This is my view. Also, let's be honest here, he's not just one rotten egg in an otherwise perfect industry. As Yoda pointed out earlier, the game is rife with racists, bigots, homophobes, sex offenders, violent offenders and the like. And that's just the ones we know about. There will be many in the game similar to Mackay, he just happened to be stupid and careless enough to get it put out there. He's done his training and counselling, and the anti-racism campaigns are on board with him, but he hasn't publicly shown any contrition or proactively tried to atone. It's difficult, I always prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I'd rather it wasn't my club welcoming him with open arms.
  17. 9 years. You can tell because the development of the East Stand isn't quite finished in the background.
  18. So you're saying if you make a bad choice, your best option is to double down on it instead of trying again?
  19. Ah, the perennial flawed question. Only in football do people seem to think you need to know who you're going to give the job to before advertising, interviewing and actually knowing who'd be interested - or in fact before there's even a vacancy to fill. I don't know who we should get in instead, because I don't know who'd apply and how they would come accross. It would be the height of stupidity to keep Yogi just because hypothetically without conducting any actual process that there's no obvious name.
  20. I'm concerned by people thinking we should keep Yogi. Truly mind-boggling. We need a full rebuild and some want those to be Yogi recruitments? Shoot me now.
