I’d actually like to see Morten back in the top flight. We used to have a decent local rivalry during the late 70s and early 80s.

It’s limited now to the odd season when we drop down a division from the top flight (if Morten are not in the seaside leagues) or the one off Renfrewshire cup match that I reckon Saints only play out of sympathy.

Perhaps by the time I hit my late 70s or early 80s they might get promotion back to the top league.

It’s a shame but at least most of their fans don’t take the easy route and support the OF.

I can’t find them just now there are images of some Morten fans wearing old firm tops at Cappielow. 🤢 WTF?🤬

    Cool story hen.

There is no issue with McDonald's ability, only his fitness. Throughout his career he has been an excellent keeper. Also played a blinder for us at Ibrox too. I don't know what his injury is but if he can fully recover then we really should be considering him. Whether he would want to be back up to Mullen at his age maybe a deciding  factor of course.

Waters is a competent player at this level. I don't see an issue in keeping him next season.

Who knows what our budget will be next season. We need to increase the size of the squad for sure.

It would be great to upgrade in all positions, but budget restrictions may hamper that. Giving a contract to competent players like Waters, who really haven't let us down is maybe an unavoidable route we will have to take

I haven't been impressed with macdonald at all. Mullen has been far better.

This is where Scottish football doesn’t help itself. We need to make games as attractable as possible for all fans, home and away. Surely teams want as many away fans as possible to attend the games. Firstly for the commercial aspect but also for the atmosphere.

Couldn't agree more. First and foremost the home fans should be a priority but clubs should work hard to make away fans want to come to games and watch their team.  Making games as accessible as possible.

Now that we're more or less consigned to a dull mid-table finish (assuming we don't somehow tumble into 9th, which we're getting uncomfortably close to) it's approaching the time to start thinking to next season.

    Already signed up

Mullen, Baird, Wilson, King, O'Boy, Bearne, Davies - No major gripes with any of these, decent spine to build from and some players with points to prove. Big year for King and Bearne.

    Must keep

Strapp, Oakley, Crawford - All nearly impossible to replace in terms of quality in the player market we need to operate in. We'll do well to hold onto them.

    Should keep

Muirhead, Garrity, Blues, O'Connor - All have played a big part at times this season, but have also shown they need quality around them before they can be effective. Probably harsh to not have Muirhead as a must keep as his goal return is very difficult to replace and we'd likely be down with Arbroath without him, but he has his obvious drawbacks and has had extended periods where he's offered very little. He should stay but we need better competition for his place next season when he's off the boil.

    50/50

Waters, French, Power, McGrattan, Gillespie, Quitongo - Wouldn't have any big problems with any of these staying or leaving. Power a level above the rest, but I'm not sure he has another year in him. The rest have been OK, but they're not going to be starters in a team that fits this 3 year strategy to consolidate us as a top 16 team. If I had to pick one to get rid of it would be French, can do better.

    Release

Broadfoot and McDonald - Goes without saying really. Both contributed at times this season but have also cost us a lot of points.

I'd keep Mullen, baird, O'connor, strapp, Wilson, Crawford, Oakley, muirhead. IF Jai is kept fit I'd keep him and we have the new boy Davies coming in as well. O'Boy would be a decent squad option. Obviously Bearne is here for another year. He'll really need to kick on.

    Unsure- Blues

Let go - McDonald, broadfoot, French, power, Gillespie, King.

If we are going to kick on we need upgrades on French, broadfoot,  waters, power, gillespie, blues and mcgrattan at the very least.

    Starting 11 could be-

                     Mullen

    New  Baird O'connor Strapp

             Wilson    New

    Davies   Crawford  Muirhead

                    Oakley

Subs - New/ Murdoch, New Cb, new lb/rb, new cm, oboy, Jai, new winger, bearne, new st.

I know this is highly optimistic but I think where we have been let down this season is the lack of quality and depth in the final 3rd. That has to be addressed.

  5. Muirhead won't be dropped and whether we like it or not Dougie right to play him. He's our top goalscorers this season and has a few assists too.

Hoping it's the same starting 11 as we had against QP although IF strapp and Wilson were back they'd rightly be in contention.

Been really tight games against Airdrie this season and this one will be the same. They're a good side that try to play football. Sometimes maybe overplaying however they have to be commended for sticking to their principles and style.

Must win for us and I think we'll sneak by the odd goal.

They are though. We've given away the same number of tickets this season for each home game as we did last year while at Ochilview (and we also stuck a bus on for them to get to Larbert), yet our average attendance has grown from 911 while challenging for the league to 1768, despite us having been mostly miserable to watch.

Plenty to criticise the club for, something I'm not shy about doing myself, but that isn't one of them. It's just a shame we weren't back in the southside for the 22/23 season which was obviously a lot more exciting, and would've no doubt done more to get people through the door.

Funny you saying that you were miserable to watch when some of your fellow fans are making you out to be peak Real Madrid.

Err. My original post was on Sunday I think. You guys are keeping it going!  It is wonderful watching Paton and Longridge. Much better than thugs in fita strips like Crawford.  He played like a complete see you next Tuesday. Should have been off the park after his tackle on Thomson.

So you were raging on Sunday and Tuesday.  Lovely stuff😀.

If you're going to pick out a physical player you could do much better than Crawford. He's probably the least physical player in the team🤣

We will never have much atmosphere at Hampden with 2-3000 fans and yes we do want to see Lesser finished at some point in the near future.  But  for now it is good to be back in Glasgow and we will settle for that for now.

What would be absolutely soul destroying is having to watch Morton every week😉. Brutal stuff (and we had to put up with Veldman's tikki taka nonsense). Sunday league on steroids but it works for you. Don't know how you do it.

Tuesday morning and you're still raging that you lost on Saturday. You're a wee lamb.

Although accepting there will never be an atmosphere at your home games is fair of you. You can try and fail to switch the subject by talking about our style of play. Seen us not too bad this season. Must be wonderful watching Paton roll about the floor like a wee fanny and Longridge make a c**t of himself on a weekly basis.
