My lasting memory of Ashcroft is the game we battered the Pars where Vaughan got his hattrick and Duggan got Ashcroft sent off in the process. Sure that was just an off day though as none of their players looked up to it.
Sorry but that's not correct. We were well on top when you opened the scoring. It ended up 3-0 so looked like a battering but we only "chucked it" when went down to 10 men.

Said as much last night. I can't recall a season when I've supported where one team has had near total dominance. We were a few Mehmet wondersaves away from having 5 wins.
A generation ago. 96-97. 4 league wins out of 4 for us. I wasn't just referring to results tho. Everything football related seems to be a different level along your way.

Personally I fully expected him to sign for Thistle in time for Friday night. This is as big a kick in the balls just from a different angle

Rovers utterly owning The Pars this season. What a time to be alive....

I'd have gladly had Ashcroft but can't blame him if he's swayed by a higher league position and a few quid. We just have to look elsewhere. The longer this dragged out I knew he'd end up somewhere else.
We're some laugh just now.

I'm sure there used to be a page in the old WDTHR fanzine that was called "Rumours from Lorenzos"
If it was mentioned in that, it was fact.

Bollocks. If there is even an ounce of truth in this then we're fucked.

Was never a good sign when it was announced they had agreed terms and Ashcroft had until end of month to sign.
Have I missed something?

Doing fantastic at Millwall mind if you have any other ex players that you didn’t rate like Connolly, Callum smith, Shaun Byrne then send them along the A92
All 3 were pretty decent at the Pars to be fair. Connolly hardly got a sniff but looked a wee bit lightweight if I remember rightly. Callum Smith got chucked in at the start of the 17/18 season and did really well scoring against Inverness on his debut but he got loaned out once Nicky Clark was fit and never got a look in after that sadly. Shaun Byrne is a completely different player to the one we had the year we won League 1. He's way more physical whilst retaining his ability to use the ball well.
I can't seem to remember dismissing any of them as "duds" though unlike someone I know fairly well........

@Been going too long let's not mention "the dud" eh??!! ️

I welcome all these worried Raith fans and their heartfelt concerns about our current situation. They won on Friday night so their focus obviously moves away from questioning and/or emptying Murray for a bit.

We definitely did not have the bones of a decent side when we got relegated last time around. Most Pars fans were predicting a play off finish at best, indeed some said we wouldn't even get that far. McPake cobbled together a squad of youngsters on loan (Otoo, Fisher, KRH, Mahon) and added 2 proper decent signings in Hammy and Bene (who Raith fans were keen to tell us league 1 was his level)
McPake is definitely toiling just now and there are several reasons behind that, some he could be blamed for, others entirely outwith his control but I'd rather be relegated with him than have the rape apologist, no amount of Rovers revisionism will change that.

Get your life savings on Brian fucking Graham to score.

Took the rape apologist to the cleaners last season.

What a terrible game. Kane looked handy. He might save us yet. Was impressed by the backing from the NW second half. Well done lads.

Raith only have themselves to blame. Squandered a few chances.
Tony Watt right in the keepers face and being his arsepiece self.
Raith's defending is fucking chronic.
The keeper is a knob tho

Maybe a sign we're going to go more direct? f**k it, bypass the midfield (we don't have one) and shell balls at Kane to hold up for Jak to notch.
Fitba is easy

I know f**k all but his "underwhelming" stats may be due to him playing in the top flight the last few years?

Nae danger is this model the best chance to get us to the premiership.
All the other models we've tried are guaranteed to bring success right enough.
Fact is, the only model(s) that worked for DAFC (got us into the top flight) in the last 25 years nearly killed us as a club.

I would absolutely start Holmes because apart Sutherland he’s the only true striker. Wighton is an attacking player who beefed up and decided he was a #9, McCann doesn’t know what he is.
I always think Lewis looks pretty decent on the LHS behind a striker, rather than being up front as a target man. Saturday was terrible all round, unfair to single him out.

If we lose either of the next 2 against the bottom 2 then we're royally fucked.
Some laugh so it is...
