I would start Rudden because I think we would need the height up front. I think there could also be a place in the staring XI for Kyle Turner. I feel the game could get a bit heated and his delivery from free kicks would be beneficial. I think I would start Easton ahead of Vaughan, simply  because I feel Lewis adds something extra when he comes on and is a great player to have with fresh legs. Hamilton has to be on the bench - bringing him on will bring a reaction from the United supporters which could have as big as an effect as his tackle.

For once, it's nice to not be trying to second-guess what b*****dised back-line we will see.

Would we not require Hamilton starting for that to be the case?

I'm not angry, but I am frustrated. We've no cutting edge up front, no instinctive or opportunistic striker who can help us win games. We dominated in terms of possession but it doesn't matter a f**k if we can't score when we're in the ascendancy. McPake for me is still the man to take us forward. It's been a huge learning curve for him and hopefully he will use the experience this season in a positive manner.

I thought the Rovers support were quiet today, added nothing to atmosphere tbh, until they scored. As much as I enjoy these games, give me Falkirk away anytime

We don't celebrate corners, we celebrate goals.

If you want to go down that road, you could easily say that United were lucky their equalised stood given where Moult's arm was. I mean, if it went to VAR there is a  possibility that goal would have been disallowed given he pulled the defendre down by wrapping his arm around his neck. Stones in glass houses etc.

    Ross Graham, not Moult.

But I agree, forensics were out for Rudden's goal but not Moult's. Ridiculous analysis

A well ground out win today. Away game  in a Derby and a bit of a slog is a game we could easily have lost last season and after the last two games and cheap dropped points this was all about getting the 3 points.

Thought Scott Brown was excellent in the main today and a real stand out. Shaun Byrne needs to be signed at all costs. He is excellent at what he does.

Watching Easton in the warm up I wasn’t surprised by his showing. I’m usually a massive fan of him but he had one today. He is rarely mentioned but I really don’t see what Josh Mullen brings to the team. IM is clearly a fan however and there is a reason he is where he is and I’m sitting on the sofa typing this!

There's a time and a place to bring that up.  Today was not that time.

    He was great.

Well we made it competitive which was what I was wanting before the game and from there see if we can sneak something. We started the game well but after 10/15 mins rovers were the better team and deserved to be ahead. All the guys around me had resigned themselves that rovers would grab a second the way the game was going. Fair play to Summers to give the team a lift out of nowwhere with a wee bit of magic.

What is frustrating is losing 2 goals from set pieces against a rovers team who arn't particularly big.  After losing 2 cbs again we did ok but miss real quality up front. Most of the second half was a carbon copy of the 0-1 game at east end where we couldn't break down an organised rovers side while they lacked a bit of quality on the break to kill the game. Frustating we couldnt test the keeper more but thats down to rovers pretty solid defending along with our lack of quality. I think we have only scored 11 goals at home in 9 games(need to check that when I get home). We also seem to lose something in midfield when Otoo has to drop back in defence

As a side note I have noticed that most of the songs rovers fans sing seem to be about the pars which I quite enjoy.

I don't, it's a fukn disgrace they sang "fcuk the Pars" at the final whistle. It's what will always make us the Wee Team unless they get the bigger picture.

Well done lads. Sons of the Raith (Raith RoveSons) doing the business is great to see.

I also had a chat with Greig Young in the tunnel at Station Park today about our mutual admiration for Sam Stanton. It was a nice moment of two good football men appreciating one of the most underrated superstars of the lower leagues.

He's not underrated by us anyway. Superb player

IDK, it’s not his favored position, and we do look better with Brown at DM. The question is Murray’s condition. At CB, Corr is capable, as is Dick or Masson, and McGill or Hannah can cover LB is Dick is moved inside.

Byrne is our defensive midfielder. We look better with one of Brown or Byrne there, no room for both with the attacking players we have. Corr isn't as good as Brown, and Brown has been excellent when filling in so he should play CH.

Of course, he may go with Millen, O'Reilly and Dick as the 3 with attacking wingbacks.

Seems Arbroath tried a 4-4-2 vs Morton and got found wanting in the middle. Makes me feel a wee bit better about this match, as our midfield is certainly looking strong enough to take advantage here.

I’d go 4-2-3-1 with Millen/Corr/O’Reilly/Dick at the back (hoping to get Masson and Hannah some time later), Brown with Byrne at DM (perhaps planning on letting Matthews spell Brown later in the match), Stanton in the middle (the optional other spot for Matthews late) with Smith and Gullan wide and Hamilton up top (leaves the others for subs as desired and fresher for the weekend).

Reckon he'll play Brown at the back again.

On the game, hoping we have some of the shorter term injured back in the frame. We've not had a Ross Matthews update in a while, hopefully he's close to appearing on the bench again.

It feels like it might as well have been last season that first game. Since that game we've brought in Byrne and O'Reilly while also seeing key players like Connolly and Brown come back to fitness.

Duncan Ferguson said in his pre match against us last week that he had no idea how we would line up because our starting 11 had changed so much in the weeks gone by and I really can't see Friday being any different.

Ross Millen should be back, but all that does is push a headache a bit further up the pitch. There's been next to no details on whether we'll see Dick, Murray or Brown back for this one, or whether Ross Matthews is any nearer to making appearances on the bench.

I'm very interested to see how things go. We've come up against a few teams this season who have been on tremendous runs (Dunfermline's unbeaten record at home, Duncan's manager bounce at Caley) while also ending more than a few hoodoos at the same time. Really hopeful we should have a good home support here even with the TV cameras.

Not at all. Really happy he scored the pen and we won, doesnt change my opinion though..  thoughts on their first goal ? Should he have tracked his runner into box ? Got a challenge in? Not stood like a statue at the rebound ? All forgiven for the pen though, took some balls to dink that for the win.

Our first goal started from Millen's excellent composure in our box whilst surrounded to casually play it to a teammate in space centrally instead of lumping it up the line. 6 or 7 passes later the ball was at Lewis' feet in the QP box then in the net.

He was absolutely one of our best players on Saturday.
