  1. Where the hell was Murray and Dick. Dick was to busy challenging Millen in the air for the ball, basically getting in each others way resulting in the ball not making it out of our box and no one thought it necessary to pick up an unmarked striker. Defence needs a shake up. As has been said we are too light in the middle of the park and to lightweight across the midfield as Murray wants to play Easton who won't get stuck in neither will Vaughan or Connolly. Too many similar players on the park at the same time.
  2. Back to team matters we need to go 4 5 1. 3 in midfield with Stanton, Brown and one of Byrne or Matthews. This does mean Vaughan dropping to the bench. Stanton playing as the 10.
  3. Oh wow look what's crawled out the woodwork. Away back and play with the kids in the North West Stand and your pathetic train that you roll out.
  4. I've not said this since last season but we are shit. No fight, no pace, no one prepared to go in where it hurts. Our defence is so slow, midfield nonexistent.
  5. Confidence and being able to win after 4 defeats is the most important factors tonight.
  6. Need game time into the legs of Watson and a run out for Stanton if on the bench. Other than that IM must play his strongest starting 11.
  7. Let's argue over what is fantastic news from the club. Massive upturn in finances with the work the new board have put in. Instead we should be discussing that IM has virtually stated that there's no chance of a player coming in before deadline day and something may happen on February. He better hope that Friday nights defending is better than recent weeks.
  8. You do know that the Scottish transfer deadline is tomorrow at 1130pm.
  9. No idea why we want to convert Dick into a centre half. If he's not good enough at his natural position then he's certainly not good enough to play CH. He's not big enough, strong enough and good enough in the air to be a fulltime CH. Also I read a lot about Byrne on here but he's not been great recently. Having said that as defensive midfielders Brown is our best player in there and would start before Byrne. If we are going with a midfield 3, then I would go with Brown, Turner and Stsnton when fit. Up front why not try Vaughan on the left, Hamilton or Rudden through the middle and Smith right. He adds pace and can switch wings with Vaughan. Connelly has been poor, Easton is a great player but too greedy at times always looking for the foul in the box and Mullin although he's got a good delivery doesn't hit the byeline.
  10. I have to agree. I constantly talk about lack of physicality and aggression and although Byrne is a tidy player he doesn't put in the telling tackles. Brown should be our DCM. Play players in their natural positions, not fullbacks as CHs or a midfielder in there. Mullin playing as a CM when he plays out wide. Whatever happens between now and the end of season we need in the summer to sign a couple of no nonsense type players and a quick, direct winger. We get bullied all over the park.
  11. No only my observations, he's 6ft 5 and comes to catch nothing. His kicking isn't great and we've lost many goals this season which have gone across him into the corner.
  12. That's also a problem having a poor defence in front of him.
  13. I'm saying his decision making at times, not coming for balls etc does not inspire confidence and defenders must also feel that. Great shot stopper poor in the air and at balls across the face of goal. He needs to dominate his area.
  14. That first half performance was woeful today. The 2 fullbacks in at CHs just doesn't work. Dick was terrible today even his pass which led to the 2nd goal was misplaced. Connolly was also just as bad and should have been hooked at half time. 2nd half was a little better. Rudden showed glimpses that he will cause problems and it was a shame that Hamilton went off as it would have been good to see the two of them up top. For all his plaudits Dabrowski is at times a bombscare and as a fan I sometimes don't have confidence in him never mind what the defenders must think. Murray must take full responsibility for that performance today as the 3 at the back was the wrong tactics and cost us the game. Our strikers also need to take a look at Samuel's for a small guy he bullied our defenders all game, something our front players need to learn. Everyone today must have seen the need for a change at the back. We are far too easy to score against and in midfield I never saw any kind of crunching tackle. 3300 plus today another performance like that and crowds will dip below 3000.
  15. Like I said I heard a defender is coming in next week. We are currently looking in the loan market and if no defenders are currently available we can't sign them. Rudden is an up grade on Gullan, Rudden provides competition up front and Rudden is a top Championship player. If he wasn't then why we're ever other Championship club wanting him to sign.
  16. We've lost a striker in Gullan to Ireland and replaced him with a proper no 9 who is a better fit as with Gullan he appeared to want to play through the middle but was better out wide where we have better players. Apparently we are signing a defender next week. Rudden offers direct competition to Hamilton and is likely to score more goals between now and the end of season than Gullan would have scored.
  17. Murray has stated that both Watson and Murray have trained well all week and in contention to return tomorrow.
  18. And yet again you feel the need to come on here. To be fair it's an easy reaction to get.
  19. I would play a 352 formation. A back three of Watson, Brown, Murray A midfield 3 at the moment of Byrne, Turner, Vaughan, 2 out wide Smith and Mullin as Smith as pace and Mullin can put in a decent cross with Hamilton and Rudden up front. Easton is a great player for us and is a game changer but won't track back enough. Stanton would obviously have to come back into the team probably for Turner, but could replace Vaughan. Having said all that more likely to be a 4 1 4 1 or 4 1 3 2. I just think with 1 holding leaves gaps in midfield.
  20. A lot being said on the Dunfermline thread about our finances again. I do take little notice from fans who allowed their chairman to borrow 10 mil. I will take more notice to Barrowman and Potters recent interviews where they touched on finance player deals etc. If we are getting Rudden on loan and losing Gullan who we signed from Hibs and no doubt has had increases built into his wages then I don't think there will be a big difference in wages. It also doesn't say we will take on 100% of Ruddens wages. Maybe the Pars should have looked to bring Gullan in, there is a good player in there.
  21. Problems are in defence but we've all heard the recent interviews and if a player becomes available that can improve us then efforts will be made to sign them. Rudden is a top end of the Championship player, he is better than Gullan as he is a striker. Gullans a little unfortunate as we still don't know his best position and if its wide left we have Easton out there if its as a number 10 we have Vaughan, Stanton that play there. If its one out one in I'd be happy. We still need to address the defensive issues but if both Murray and Watson return that does alleviate this issue slightly allowing Brown back into midfield along side Byrne and Turner.
  22. Both would be very good additions. With the latest speculation I can see Gullan leaving and being replaced by a proper number 9. I can also see Masson going out on loan and perhaps Corr as well if we can get Watson and Murray fit.
