Talking of death spirals , I believe not long ago Morton were officially dead but eventually rose again - does administration,  bankruptcy and cheating on debts mean anything?  Cowden have never been in administration and we are doing all we can to remain solvent, despite particular off-field problems.

We are now looking at ways to hand over control of the club to a community trust. I understand Morton is now run by a supporters trust and it would be helpful if real Morton supporters could assist by providing friendly advice and assistance and not the arrogant  patronising shite you love to specialize in.

    Subject change here…

Maurice ross is the recent guest on the open goal show with kev kyle and si ferry. Great listen and speaks very highly of his time at cowden a man I wish all the best to.

Yes. I'm sure there's a few more that feel a bit of regret.

We need money. Sad, but simple as that. Without new money coming in we are fading fast.

Would be good if we got some backing from the council. Surely the football club is a benefit to the town.

Don't hold your breath on that one though.

  4. Just when I thought we'd turned the corner that happens.

Played with a strong wind behind us first half and not one shot at goal even although we controlled the game.

I don't rate Watt at all, he doesn't get much help though.

If we really are going for promotion next season we are going to need more than a couple of new players.

Very disappointed, thank goodness this season is almost over.

Quite like Galabank although I hope they don't use the tannoy as you can hear it in Carlisle😀

Disappointing for some fans who would be hoping to see us at a new ground.

Nothing can be as bad as our tannoy surely?

Had a wee think over night and into today about the result yesterday and I still don't really see where we lost 4 nil. Don't think there was much between the two sides and after the initial pressure that brought Buchanan's first goal had more than our fair share of possession without really creating any clear cut chances. I guess that's where having a striker like Buchanan comes in handy though.

I don't really see the point in playing Scott Sinclair wide on the left, it really takes away any goal threat that he possesses.

All in all a bad day at the office but we need to start taking wins from teams above us and not just those floating around the bottom.

Problem has been and still is that we don't have anyone who can shoot other than Sinclair. The amount of scuffed shots yesterday was ridiculous.

As far as I understand it the stand lighting system was damaged not just a light

Walked round to the old stand at half time, sounded like they were ripping it apart. Should have got the stock car boys to have a word with the cretins.

Not at all. We don't owe Liam Buchanan anything. A lot of players would show a bit of respect when scoring against their former club and he couldn't have been happier. That might be down to his hatred of Maurice though.

And balls aren't cheap - why should we just hand over a £50 ball?

If he'd scored the penalties he missed for Cowden we wouldn't be in this mess. Still like him though.

The minute we do it of course and get pressed fans shout for players to get the ball booted forward

You won't get pressed if you have players available to pass to.

Everyone back when the opposition get a corner?

I can recall several games when we were playing the ball out from the back this season.  And Edinburgh University played themselves into trouble doing just that whilst Celtic weren’t that good at it for first 15 minutes

All the big teams do it though. Don't see the point in giving the ball back to your opponents.

  11. On another note - when we played both Rangers and Celtic, the keepers passed the ball to a defender and started their attacks from there. Yet we persist with hoofing the ball up the park and as often as not give the ball to the opposition.

    Any thoughts?

You are usually one of the most negative and pessimistic posters on this thread. Glad you are seeing the sunny side of life for a change ;)

Pot kettle?I certainly was at the start of the season. I even stopped going for a few games. But I had been going to games and couldn't believe what I was seeing. If I lived locally though I wouldn't have missed any games.

Saturdays just weren't the same. I watched a few Aberdeen games and what was on offer there was just as depressing and that was from well paid players.

So now I'll keep watching and have a moan but only now and again😁😁😁

    Good points made

All about rebuilding on and off the park.

My personal opinion of Key points and priorities for me right now below which a lot of below is already well under way with strong foundations that have been placed already

    1. Ensure Cowdenbeath F.C remains to exist safeguarding it's future

    2. Rebuilding on and off the park including building a team that is competitive that fans can be proud of

3 Maintain on building a strong community presence in the town maintaining the clubs identify

    4. Plan a roadmap timeline back to the SPFL

    5. Utilising initiatives such as Gala sportsman's events, hospitality, community fun days

Why did we have to wait for the Celtic "huddle" before the ref could start the game, don't these guys speak to each other in the changing room? What a nonsense.

Second half was really flat and fairly depressing, even Maurice was sitting quietly. I thought Cowden played well enough first half, second goal on the stroke of half time was a killer. As usual no favours from the officials, but not the reason we lost.

I’m not going to lose my sh** because we’ve lost twice at home to the B teams in the last few weeks. These lads are the best youngsters in the country, most of them getting paid close to a grand a week, hard to compete.

I want these B teams launched for next season, if it’s decided they must stay make each team’s fee something nuts like £500k to test their resolve as to how much they really want to be in the LL.

Good post. Can't believe that some fans are predicting doomsday again. Cowden were up against a better team with better players. Thinking back to our game against Dalbeatie at the start of the season, we were awful and almost lost that game. That was a big shock and the following games weren't much better.

The club are trying to rebuild a team and there aren't many players (or money) available. We've had some good years but now it's our turn to eat humble pie. Plenty other teams are struggling in higher leagues Cove,Kelty, Arbroath (who almost got up to the big league last season) and even Bonnyrigg.

We've had awful seasons in the past and recovered. If the pyramid had been introduced earlier goodness knows if we'd even have a club now.

Not everything is the managers fault, Cowden will recover from this.

I think berwick-the-unbeatable's point about most of us will look negatively upon Maurice's era once he is gone is correct. Let me make this absolutely clear, Maurice's contract should not be renewed at the end of the season. A few good results in the last two months does not excuse the disaster of the last 13 months of HIS management while we sit SIXTEETH in the FIFTH tier.

I have no respect for Maurice as he has shown no respect for us. So many instances.
    1) Going on a crappy Rangers podcast saying "he is operating at a lower level than his abilities" being at Cowdenbeath - well piss off and find a job higher up the pyramid, but the reality for him is there is no club at the level which would take.
    2) In the morning of an important game for us to climb the table, he is at Ibrox in his Cowdenbeath tracksuit and thinks it is appropriate to post this on twitter.
    3) At Bo'ness when we scored a brief equaliser, he shouted across at us "get it ****ing up you's", we said nothing to warrant this.
    4) I don't like the way he speaks to players and fans. From Drifter at Gretna to calling Alfie "a useless lanky ****" at Gretna to calling Carlos Lyon "you are nothing but a waste of ****ing space". Does this man ever learn from the mistakes of words in the past, such as at Nott's County? The evidence suggests not.
I could go on but we would be here all day.

We were relegated for a magnitude of reasons but I rank the causes in the following order:
    1) The scrapping of our reserve team and youth development side
I was looking at an old reserve programme from over a decade ago and we had such a good reserve team who all went to have great careers mostly. Let's be absolutely clear, the scrap of our youth development programme was a massive part in our recent downfall. Instead of relying on us to create cheap talent that filter into first team, we have relied on average talent deemed not good enough from other academies and paying over the odds for them.
    2) Poor managerial appointments and taking too long to sack them
Too many below-average appointments such as Fox, Nish and Locke that did not last long. Bollan did well in parts and had a good season in the season that was curtailed due to covid. The club took too long to sack him Bollan last season. I believe if he was sacked earlier we would have survived. Maurice should have been sacked in September/October. He has had two chances with two different squads and it is not worked.
    3) Stuck in old ways and fans feeling undervalued
The club have done so many things the way have done for years and become complacent. All my friends that used to come to the games 5/10 years ago stopped coming because they felt undervalued and that they were not getting value for money the further down pyramid we fell. Plus the additional costs of catering at Central which is much higher than anywhere else. What parent in Cowdenbeath can afford £4.50 for a hot dog for two kids. The club could have offered cheap days for entry but it is suggested every time but they say they will take it on board but nothing never happens. We have never done enough to encourage fans back.
    4) The way the club treats volunteers
The old boys at programme stall and around ground volunteer their time out of the goodness of their heart and get treated like rubbish. That is why the club cannot keep volunteers. I had a friend who worked in the media team a while back and he was not even get offered basic food and drink for their time. The most of the directors never spoke to them once in year and half he volunteered there. A basic thank you would have been nice for their time.

Anyway I got what I wanted to say off my chest.

That's some post mate. However, our recent problems are surely due to £'s.

We'll never have a big enough support to generate a lot of money which in turn means that your concerns won't go away any time soon.

I don't know how volunteers are treated but that's a real shame and something that could easily be put right.

As for managerial appointments, that seems to be a problem at many clubs but I thought the atmosphere at CP was good. Just look at the problems Aberdeen have (or had?)

Difficult times for us all. Keep the faith.

We’ve played well in a number of games this season and walked away empty handed, so I’ll take this one no problem.

That's exactly what I was dreading. Would have been a sore one to lose.
