  1. This all started with that Chelsea keeper refusing to come off. It's anarchy!
  2. I understand Hume is Harvey's Brother in Law which may account for the favouritism?
  3. Did Bradley really say this about the ref? “He can’t let the first one go because it’s the first tackle; the boy took Oweny [Owen Ronald] out and he’s allowed him to set the tone – if he books him right away he can’t do another tackle like that, but these clowns don’t understand that. He could have really hurt him and then the same boy did it again to Gary Thom. Edinburgh Evening News Surely he'll be in trouble for that comment......
  4. Based on what, one cup win? Compared to Robbie, Harvey has a lot of catching up to do and Berwick would be back at the same position: no money and a manager plucked from the lower leagues.
  5. With Robbie you'll get David and Jim back. With Johnny you get rid of everything you have and he brings his massive background team..... coaches, physio..... Perhaps the Johnny option would be too much upheaval?
  6. Massive 'well done' to Kelty who last night beamed the game live on Youtube. To be fair to the club, they are outdoing the majority of the so called big teams in Scottish football with their inventiveness and pro-active actions.
  7. Some great Kelty bashing going on here and I'm desperate to get involved..... But I mustn't, gogsy will be down on me like a ton o bricks!
  8. Watch it heedthebaa, gogsy will accuse you of trolling and being nasty at Kelty at every opportunity. Then he'll call you an utter welt. I've seen it done before
  9. Once again Kelty show their real lack of class. Selkirk phone the league to say the game can't be played. The league say "OK, we'll advise Kelty". Kelty go in the huff because they haven't received a grovelling phone call from Selkirk - a club in complete meltdown! Kelty then send out a statement claiming they don't do 'Victim' - and then list a number of points to show them as the victim! Utter welts Couple of things to note: Kelty weren't so sympathetic to Selkirk when they signed Ciaren Chalmers......from SELKIRK! And they'll be able to recoup their £2k from the £7 they charge to watch their games - when most of the others charge £5 or £6
  10. I think Errol was simply shoulder barged off the ball - and that's allowed in the modern game....even if it's against a Kelty player!
  11. Not sure about that to be honest. They seem to be on a slippery slope under their current managerial regime.
  12. Does that mean we'll have to wait until after the 4th before the EoSFL tell us what the league set up will be for next season? I'd be surprised if they announced the detail while Linlithgow decided what route they were going to take.
  13. Ginaro In 3 seasons you could have the league's completely turned around - is that really that long? I agree there are a number of Junior teams who are stronger that the current EoSFL teams - but why should they be prioritised because they've now decided to get on board? I doubt if you'll have a happy family in the EoSFL for a long time. We have this issue now - wait until the other teams decide to come along.... Like I've said before, what'll happen next season if a few more 'giants' decide to join - another re-hash?
  14. I can't say what's been discussed by the teams Burnie_man, and I'm not even sure if my option was even considered in any discussions that have taken place with the teams and committee. I just think it's the correct way of dealing with the whole thing.
  15. Repeating myself I know, but why not: Division 1 Burntisland Shipyard Coldstream Eyemouth United Hawick Royal Albert Heriot Watt University Leith Athletic Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale Ormiston Peebles Rovers Preston Athletic Stirling University (EOSFL) Tweedmouth Rangers Tynecastle Division 2 The rest Two promotion / relegation places with a playoff involving the 3rd and 4th top and bottom placed teams. This will ensure week teams are dropped early and strong teams are elevated quickly. This really is an opportunity for the EoSFL to take centre stage for a change - you've seen the interest the Kelty/Lothian HV battle created. But why should the new teams be elevated into the top division simply because they've now seen the light. Let the teams who've shown the EoSFL loyalty over the years have their moment/s in the limelight. Anything other than the above will be showing disrespect and complete disregard to the teams who've plugged away over the years after the Lowland League was formed.
  16. We aren't developing a pyramid. The pyramid is in place, it's teams who are now recognising that they want to be part of the pyramid. How do you define 'worthy' - better setup? First and foremost you need to win the EoSFL to gain entry into the LL. Blackburn have a fantastic setup by all accounts - but if they can't win the games then they won' be joining the LL.
  17. Easthouses left EoSFL after losing the league on goal difference if I remember correctly. But it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the juniors gave zero thought to seeding them - that's my point, why should the EoSFL even think about seeding the junior teams? And what will happen that season if the new teams are strong teams - try another mash-up; or have them start in the bottom division?
  18. Great opportunity for the EoSFL Committee in my opinion. Leave the teams currently playing EoS football as the first division. Create a second division with the new teams. Two automatic promotion and relegation spots, and two legged playoffs with the 3rd & 4th top and bottom sides. Then a one-off game to decide on the final promotion spot. If it's the second division team that wins then the 3rd bottom team from the first is relegated. If it's the first division team that wins then the 3rd bottom team is saved. Let the 'big' teams work their way up the league over a few seasons. No need to place them in the top division because they've decided they now want a piece of the action after refusing all those years ago. As I've said before, it's only right that the EoSFL Committee show loyalty and appreciation to the teams who've been part of the league for years. Remember what happened to Easthouses when they joined the juniors, they weren't 'seeded' and placed in a higher division; they joined from the bottom.
  19. How do the league propose deciding what teams are 'equal'? And then the next season we see say, Linlithgow Rose, BoNess United and Penicuik Athletic join the league. Are they joining the second division - or are we to see another mash-up? Not questions for you to answer ormistonforever, but you'll see what I'm getting at hopefully.
  20. Of course another option could be that the league only accepts one or two clubs and keeps things simple....
  21. So the following season we have (for example) Linlithgow Rose, Penicuik Athletic, BoNess United, Newtongrange Star, Camelon, Sauchie all joining the EoSFL - and starting from the bottom division?
  22. Ginaro - it's not about the EoSFL trying to 'encourage' Junior teams to join, it's the Juniors who are now trying to jump on the pyramid after ignoring the pleas from the SFA to join in years ago. The Juniors are playing catch-up now through their own fault and it's wrong that people are looking to accomodate them at the cost of the loyal and established members of the EoSfl. Let's remember that the EoSFL have ridden through some tough times lately after so many team jumped ship and joined the Lowland League. No one gave a thought about the damage the league would suffer then, and it says a lot about the teams that stuck with the league like Eyemouth, Peebles, Coldstream - teams that could have left and joined local leagues. It is right that those teams are given priority and respect in any new set-up.
  23. heedthebaa - that's exactly what we'd be doing if we split the league using the top 8/9 teams from this season in the league in one division; and the newcomers in another. We also have to think longer term. What happens if there's another influx of new teams from the Juniors the following season, and the season after that...... continual carve-ups each season to suit the so called big guns? Then there's the question of how you rate the teams. If Hawick drop down at the end of this season having won just one game, how do you judge them? How do you judge Blackburn United?
  24. Why should the loyal members of the EoSFL be pushed aside to accommodate new clubs? In the past, when the league had 2 divisions if a new club came along they were placed in the bottom division and the challenge was for them to work their way up. Why should this change because we have so called 'superior' teams joining? Lets not forget that these teams aren't joining the league because they see it is a step up - they see the league as a stepping stone to a step-up. They'll have no loyalty to the league what-so-ever. There also shouldn't be assumptions that these teams join the league with the same standing as they do at present, I'm sure they'll lose some quality as players will leave as they don't fancy the step 'down'. The solution should be the top 8/9 teams at the end of this season should be in division 1 - the rest should be in division 2. I accept that we 'may' have a season where the better team/s are in the lower division, but the league has to be seen to be doing the right thing for all current members.
