  1. I was in the pub earlier and enjoyed saying hello to a dog who was in with its owner. I fucking love pub dogs. They're pretty much always couthy as f**k and like the fact you're scratching it in just the right spot behind its ears. It's a mutually beneficial act, I enjoy providing that scratch for a dog who appreciates it. Spending some time with a pub dog is a simple yet most pleasurable experience IMO. I was enjoying myself anyway, but the pub dog really made me smile. The one I met tonight was called "Jimmer" by the way. I said to the owner, good name, man. Really good fucking name. I like that a lot.
  2. It looks like she's either been drinking coffee liqueur or eating mushroom soup. I've never seen spew that colour before. It's a brilliant photo, capturing a moment perfectly. I'd love to see a photo taken three seconds later from that one. The reaction of everyone else at the table would be exquisite. If Tacheman drifted into view behind the ill lassie it would be the best photo on this thread.
  3. As others have already said, go for it. It is a wee bit scary, but then the best things often are. I was in my twenties before I went (for the same reasons as you're thinking about it) and it's one of the best things I ever did. The school leavers who are there for a f**k about and little else are annoying, but you get used to it. I didn't partake in the same social life many had but I was cool with that. I treated it like a job, was reasonably dedicated to my studies and got an honours degree out of it. I then caught a lucky break and had a great job earning more than double what I had been pre-university withing six months of graduating. Dae it! And good luck to you.
  4. Cheap Bics are good for f**k all, Gaz. I'm getting a shaving rash just thinking about that.
  5. Magic, thanks! Will get it to you this afternoon.
  6. Just realised I've made a total c**t of my list by somehow forgetting the album that would have been my #2. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU Colin, have you started tallying up the totals yet? If not, can I submit a revised list? Apologies, I'm a pure donkey.
  7. I'm much the same. Optimo were my last real favourites. Twitch is a fantastic DJ.
  8. Perhaps he wasn't that bad, he just wasn't that good. I'm absolutely baffled as to why he became as big as he did.
  9. Mine spanned the mid-'70s to 2010, but the majority came from the '90s.
  10. After browsing the 'Dance Songs' thread earlier I ended up linked to DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ poll results. I haven't paid much attention to such things in the past few years but it's amazing how all these Euro trance-chancers have come to prominence. [moaning old clubber] The times have truly changed when Armin Van fucking Burrin of all people is regarded as the number one DJ in the world by people who vote in these polls. That c**t's not fit to carry a former poll winner like Sasha's record bag. You kids don't know you're born, back in the day, etc etc [\moaning old clubber].
  11. If I pulled her and spent the night with her I'd find it hard not to wait till she fell asleep, take a Biro and draw a wee man on a motorbike performing a daredevil stunt off one of those eyebrow ramps. I'd probably add a wee speech bubble that allowed the wee man to declare "YAAAAASSSSS!" or something equally indicative of his exhilaration. Then I'd put the pen down and play with her boobs as she slept. Hello, ladies.
  12. I'll get a submission in for this during the course of the week.
  13. I would've liked to have been there for sure, and I was a bit gutted come Saturday night when I was doing f**k all and epic scenes were taking place on the crawl. Making tentative plans to go then deciding against it feels like having a winning coupon denied by a result you changed your mind about at the last minute. Had Tacheman been found and photographed with the group I'd have made the call to Div asking him to delete my account and end my misery by now. There's simply no way of recovering from missing out on something of that magnitude.
  14. I apologise for tarring all Edinburgh folk, and indeed all Hearts/Hibs fans, with the same brush there, that was ill-judged. Edinburgh's a beautiful city and has a huge range of boozing options. Big groups roaming around on the piss are plentiful though. They're par for the course in Auld Reekie. In Dundee, however, the Bus Crawlers will be a genuine anomaly, adventurers who dared to dream. There are no hen or stag parties in our city, ever, at any point in its history. No one moves in groups of that size or purpose whilst socializing. Explaining what we're up to as we move around will blow Dundonian minds. Nae c**t has ever thought of this before. c***s pub crawl the Perth Road and Ferry, but doing a set route around the whole city via bus? This is pioneering stuff. People go into this as some c**t fae a football forum and come out the other side someone who was a member of a group who changed how this city gets drunk as f**k forever. They'll make the local press ("MARAUDING DRUNKS ESTABLISH DRINKING CIRCUIT, FAIL IN ATTEMPT TO RELAUNCH DISCOVERY"). P&B will be awash with posters claiming to have been there when in fact there was only 15 of us and anyone who believed in what we' were doing enough to join us along the way. This will probably be the event that sees Dundee become widely regarded as better than Aberdeen. Those oil-drillin' fuckers will be apoplectic about that. It's been coming, and they should've been emotionally prepared, but they will be genuinely outraged about this. And it won't stop there: once that North Sea oil runs out Aberdeen will be some kind of northern Brechin within a year. Fit like min? Economically devastated min.
  15. An Edinburgh one wouldn't last more than five drinks before it became a real life version of on here, and that means a bad vibe, multiple fights and probably c***s ending up in the cells for the weekend. If it means the rest of us get a couple of days peace from your shite then I say press on and get it organised. Shedboy, I'm about to PM you, the brainchild of the Dundee Bus Crawl concept, a communication that will hopefully set the ball rolling toward actually doing this thing.
  16. Sub crawl vets will be made guests of honour at the Dundee version. I'm talking to you, Smurf, ya big ride.
  17. Nizzy seems to have done a good job organising the sub crawl. I'll ask him to turn his hand to help sorting out a bus-based Dundee version, and I will provide the local knowledge required to make it work. Shedboy can do the same. There's no established route so some thought will be required here. Between all the Tayside/Angus teams and P&B students based in town we can probably muster a decent squad for this. It's also much more likely to descend into farce and/or chaos than the sub crawl. The logistical issues are plentiful. Most of them point toward this being a complete shambles from start to finish. I'm in.
  18. This registered on the That's You Telt Scale about as heavily as a fart might register on the Richter Scale. Some people did respond to this call. I was touched by their concern and apologetic that they misunderstood the signal as a genuine emergency. Reassuring to know that they're there though. I'd be up for it. Organising it would take no more than a post informing anyone who's interested to meet at a bus stop of choice at a set date and time. I use the bus service regularly and consider it to be safe, reliable and often entertaining. Sometimes it even gets a little bit weird... In the past month or two I've seen three different people get on with a vacuum cleaner and hoist it into the bit down front generally used for shopping bags. They reach their destination, grab it and vanish into the night without anyone asking the questions I feel need answering. People are going places and thinking, f**k it, I'll take the Hoover. I like to spruce up carpets as much as the next man but I fail to envision a time when taking it somewhere on the bus is ever going to be considered. It's fucking odd. Anyway, may I suggest the 5 is the bus we want to be riding. It goes from Ninewells to the Ferry, passing down the Perth Road and city centre into the Ferry and Barnhill. It directly passes f**k loads of good pubs. Also, the route covers the breadth of Dundee, where Dundee fans live, and passes east of Dobbies into rural Angus, where most United fans live. Handy for dropping folk off once it's finished. Keep your eyes peeled for the vacuum thing. It is happening. Not the same boy hauling it around like a genuinely mental pet, they were different people and different vacuums. There's no pattern thus far, just...people taking their Hoover on the bus with them. I for one am puzzled.
  19. There'll "never be a rush of pretty woman football fans to the Pie Shop Forum" because Neanderthal sexist muppets like you still tread the boards. Some respect for the good lady in question please. Also, I'd do Nizzy and the boy up the back in the yellow top without a drink on me, and quite a few others after a sub crawl level bevy.
  20. Ken what, I was getting a Duran Duran song confused with a Frankie number. Relax, The Reflex, whatever; my point about Nizzy still stands.
  21. Top work, like. A full squad still out too! I probably shouldn't be feeling just a wee bit proud of them, but I am. Assuming a drinking establishment named after a Frankie Goes to Hollywood song can only be a gay bar or club, it would appear Nizzy has taken on the role of group leader. The man does have natural leadership qualities and a penchant for liberal lifestyle choices. I don't doubt he led the charge onto the dance floor either.
  22. That would be brilliant. That thread's been on the go and a good laugh for quite a while now. The appearance of a massively drunk P&B poster, or better still a whole crowd of them in a right nick, would be a bona fide classic P&B moment.
