  1. The bolded part is what really boils my piss. Where should we have been? Too many people prepared to give "Jam Tomorrow" sloganeering the time of day. It is a football club, the football is dreadful. You can't build your way out of that with bricks and mortar. Teams are of a fairly even quality in the league (imo) and will be won with a low-ish points total. We have the best striker in the league after the leaders sold the nearest rival in Jan. We won't even be close. I wonder where we "should be" next season.
  2. The subs! McKenzie, Ashford, Dempsey, Maguire were useless and we have to go behind before he throws JML and Bryden under the bus. It's trying to be clever thinking there will be ET while ignoring what's happening in front of him. GTF
  3. Of course he will. He'll still be here in a year's time. The "project", the *plan*, the hub, the new stand ad infinitum. Live, old horse, and you'll get corn.
  4. Is that confirmed anywhere? (I've been trying to work out how I could get to Falkirk in time but won't bother if it's on the box.)
  5. Fair do's. (I did wonder if anyone would bring that up.) It seems ridiculous to be wanting a change of coach when 2nd in the league and into the QF's of the Scottish Cup but that's where I am. I hope my track record in managerial success prognostication continues!
  6. The JML Experience is a symptom of the larger Bullen Show we've had to endure for months. Insipid anti-football that some likeable players are trying their best under. It should be another round of the Smith Head Coach Lottery in the summer but I suspect not.
  7. I felt the schedule was bad this season but that is pretty stark! I can see straitened times ahead for clubs and I hope there is some realisation that regular football attendance is something of a routine and constantly shifting days and times will probably lead to fewer season ticket sales (I didn't buy one for the second half of this season for precisely that reason).
  8. a) He's not called Darren b) He's not very good. x) We were very poor. We were on top in brief spells but rarely loooked like scoring. Both fullbacks were rubbish - struggling to think of a player I've seen regress as much as Reading, looked very much his level. y) No one can take a corner. z) All of Bullen's favourite subs (McKenzie/Ashford/Bryden) contributed nowt.
  9. Disagree. Think of the competition! I hope he never starts and remains forever our Daisy.
  10. That was an excruciating watch. Floodlight robbery. Bar Akinyemi/JML/Ecrepont we were pish. Long ball nonsense from the start. Are we in a false position? Probably, but who cares this evening.
  11. Nope. I've received a nominal fee most seasons (barring the covid season, and I waived the fee for the season that ended in March). I even posted it on here a few years ago: I'm happy that the club is prioritising the playing staff (including a full-time video analyst) - it is a football club. I was fortunate in the past to have a board that valued having matches recorded and realised there was a real cost to doing it. The nominal fee I charged the club didn't change in 15 years either - it certainly would not make a dent in the playing department! I await with interest the new highlights package.
  12. Neither are McKenzie and Ashford but they certainly get a lot of minutes to run about.
  13. I'm not involved anymore (offered my services as usual, club not interested). Games now filmed by same people who do match commentary and interviews so... who knows? It's a real shame that Ayr don't provide highlights comparable to our peers (and clubs in leagues below) - particularly when we are doing so well. Of course, any criticism from me will be put down as sour grapes so I'm best keeping quiet. 16 years was a good run for me and lots of fun times. Old Ayr United Highlights Channel is defunct. I've offered to move control of it to the Club in several meetings - again no interest. I've simply kept it up because it would be churlish to do anything else. New Video Channel? is where the current interviews etc. appear.
  14. Morton beter the last half hour but either could have won it near the end. That referee is apalling.
  15. Going by the stream (which is quite good) both teams in 2nd gear for this cup. Morton better for first 20 mins and scored while McGinty/McAllister took turns to lump 50-yd diagonals to Mullin/Ashford respectively. Since then fairly even, Ayr maybe more possession but ball not troublilng the Morton defence. Good equaliser from us on the break - McGinty pass to Young, holds it up wide, good pass in to Mullin who scores. Glad I didn't go but happy to watch the stream.
  16. I've just bought it (didn't realise it was available until about 10 mins ago). No picture yet.
  17. I've seen Ayr concede straight from their own corner plenty of times, it just never seemed such an obvious/deliberate self-sabotaging play. (Going on the always-good RaithTV highlights only). What was supposed to happen?
  18. I phoned the club shop about this (having bought my ticket in the Home Bakery) - once a date for the rearranged match is announced you can get a refund (not sure whether it will be the club shop or the Home Bakery in my case, tba).
  19. I hope not! https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001bgvg/sportscene-championship-live-202223-ayr-utd-v-dundee
