  1. The writer Nicholson Baker had a top tip: imagine turning towards the person standing next to you and pishing all over their shoes/legs. Works a treat.
  2. I find it fairly humorous how many people want the show to be shorter. No lower league telly coverage at all for years and now one hour a week is too much? Loving the segments - if one isn't very good there will be another one along in a few minutes.
  3. I thought it was really good. Certainly compares favourably with the piss-poor standard of the presenting/commentating in the earlier live match. Also, what was that half-time segment about! If "A View From the Terrace" had anything that bad on it this would be a busier thread. (I was pleasantly surprised with the number of cameras at the Morton game - hope it continues.)
  4. It is normally only "social media warriors" that slaughter him every week. No complaints with results the last two weeks. Look miles off it. Interested to see Moffat hasn't come in for any criticism yet. In my opinion he has been cold dugshite for about 2 months (Alloa game notwithstanding).
  5. Funnily enough the only game this season where we have reached 70% possession (according to wyscout) was the home game against Falkirk where we, erm, lost 0-1. Clearly only one stat from a game matters. Posted without comment, here is the current "best" Championship team according to wyscout's black-box-player-ranking-machine:
  6. All I know from this thread is that there are some feral monsters supporting Ayr.
  7. Thought Ross Doohan was his usual solid self tonight. A long time since we've had a better cross/corner catcher I'll wager. Just finished his reel and very little to do in the first half but caps a fine game by plucking the last minute corner right in front of his opposite number. Kicking good also. Good stuff.
  8. Poor display from us but yet again other results keep it interesting. Intriguing...
  9. There must be a "sash" joke in there somewhere but I yet again my reach exceeds my grasp...
  10. My understanding is that he had a falling out with those that run the club. Monster was a good guy. I also have a fine relationship with the club. I cannot come up with a more milquetoast answer than that. Looking forward to Tannadice on Friday!
  11. I thought the chat was fine. At least equal to what passes for a lot of football podcasts. It's not the fault of the people speaking that there was no way to subscribe to it i.e. like a podcast.
  12. Absolutely. What an afternoon that was at Lochee - delighted with the draw. Streetlights came on midway through the second half it was so dark. If someone cannot enjoy the Lochee's and Bank o' Dee's then I frankly don't know what they are doing supporting a team like Ayr.
  13. Seems like an uniquely self-serving argument. What were the decisions that "pushed us backwards"?
  14. Another week, another manager sacked, another poll where McCall is in the running. Long may it continue.
  15. ^This. In my limited experience, Ayr would not stand in anyone's way. Why would they? Seems counterproductive.
  16. Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I am thoroughly enjoying the auto-generated subtitles on Barry Smith's post-Airdrie interview. Great stuff! Great win!
  17. Not from me I'm afraid. Hopefully normal service will resume for the League Cup (unlike last year when I managed to miss the Killie game!)
  18. AUmedia have jumped the gun here, unfortunately. The club, AUmedia and myself had agreed to look at live streaming home games next season. It was to be dependent on several things none of which have been finalised (including pricing). I am only going to be involved if I think the video side of things is reliable enough and of sufficient quality. Early tests look promising but we are not at the stage of selling subs. Annoyingly, I met up with all of AUmedia at Somerset on Saturday and there was no suggestion they were going public. Glad there is some interest though!
  19. As I understand it the clubs can stream a full match on the day of the game at 10 pm. Weirdly, clubs are not allowed to put out any kind of edited highlights (even 3 minutes, goals etc.) until two hours later. Not tested this rule yet as I don't want the club to get another stern letter (or worse) from the SPFL! The last few posts on live video etc. have been interesting as I attended that meeting Mr X mentioned between the Championship video producers (the nice chap from QoS was also in attendance). 4G has certainly helped those clubs at our level who broadcast live streams. I personally don't think live streams in the Championship currently impact in any serious way with away fans attendance BUT I obviously have no facts to back that up, just an opinion.
