  1. Nevermind 40 years, it's close to 60 now. And long may it grow.
  2. A bit shit? Are you sure that doesn't sound exactly like Cowan's usual patter? Well, aside from not mentioning some crooner he went to watch at the Hydro
  3. Be nice if he could teach them the rules so they stop committing so many fouls in the box
  4. Jinxed it, Ross County don't give away a penalty for an entire month challenge. It may well be impossible.
  5. Cracking start that. Goal & an assist from Turner, nice to see.
  6. League reconstruction doesn't address the actual structural problems. The current setup is pretty exciting between the relegation scrap and the battle for European places which means most of the league has something to play for right into late April. Which is about the best we can ask for until such a time there's a more equitable split in revenues. Aye, you can say "would you come up with the current setup if you were building the league from scratch?" but you'd not also not have created 2 teams who completely eclipse the rest of the league in money & attention. Until the later is addressed league reconstruction is just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.
  7. Ach, I'm sure Network Rail remembered to slip a note or two to some useless git on the Planning Committee.
  8. I was disappointed we won that penalty shootout and Malky kept his job. Early days yet but County look better than last season. Could all collapse though. Nice to see you're concerned for your wee neighbours though.
  9. Fingers crossed. Though obviously the sooner the better.
  10. Did seem a bit fantastical, which is why I was a sceptical when it was said. Can't even remember who said it as it was just mentioned in passing. Sort of thing when you hear it you go "he can't have actually been stupid enough to say that can he?"
  11. Aye Sandy, you'd know nothing about staying away from the club while some utter shitehawk is in charge
  12. Excellent win at the weekend, especially nice to see a clean sheet & also plenty of good chances created. Has there been anything on Dhanda and his injury? I know the talk in the match thread was of a rib injury and could be up to 6 weeks but haven't seen any confirmation. Also this was just mentioned in passing on Open All Mics, but did Malky really claim last week County have the lowest wage bill in the country?
  13. This has nothing to do with Ryan Leak as a player, but his name instantly gives me the fear. Not for any good reasons mind, it just makes me think of Ryan Leaf, a notable NFL player from 25 years ago who is generally regarded as one of the worst draft picks in the sport. So I hope Ryan Leak is better than that
  14. I see Malky has come out in the P&J to say Yan Dhanda is going nowhere. Which I certainly didn't expect 2 months ago, I figured there was no way County would hold on to him. Would be nice if we didn't just hoof the ball from back to front so much so we could actually utilise him but hey, baby steps.
  15. It's true, and also utterly annoying because the whole point of the BBC is they have a revenue source other than advertising. They shouldn't have to be chasing ratings. But of course that's the world we live in, where the bottom line is all that matters.
  16. I don't think the entire format needs ripping up, definitely plenty of room for tweaks. But the basic format worked fine for years with Richard Gordon, and was perfectly fine with Al Lamont in charge last weekend. MacIntyre is just absolutely brutal though, he actively has contempt for every team outwith the Old Firm. But even ignoring that major flaw he's just guff at filling time. So we end up hearing the same shite about VAR every week. Meanwhile he's got no control or authority either so Michael Stewart & Alan Preston just steam roll everyone, Preston to talk about some nonsense he should keep to his group chat (or to sing the praise of one of his clients while not mentioning he's their agent), and Stewart to be a contrarian. At least being a contrarian means he isn't an Old Firm lover. I'd like the old boys network replaced, ideally with people who can string two sentences together, although Derek Ferguson isn't the worst and he doesn't exactly come off like the sharpest knife in the block. He at least gives a shit about the game he's watching and doesn't come across resentful he's being paid to go to the football. But getting Kenny McIntyre relegated to curling or something else I don't watch would instantly make the show more listenable. By an order of magnitude.
  17. Does Malky train the players on how to give away penalties?
  18. Ah, they thought they'd been transported to London, understandable
  19. All the suggestions about making things more competitive are good but the one thing I'd change over anything else right now is Malky Mackay would f**k out somewhere other than Ross County
  20. I'd like to see the Inverness Courier give a shit about anything else as much as they care about the A9 dualling. A modern railway line to the Highlands would be nice & less environmentally disastrous that increasing road capacity. But it doesn't even have to be that. Obviously I'm biased because I've never learned to drive but still, good lord it's the main thing they talk about these days in a time of climate crisis, widespread poverty, lack of affordable housing (even with the incredibly twisted definitions of affordable that are used by councils & the government), massive inequality, the slow destruction of public services, it's just not high on my list of priorities. Sorry, I have been trying to gurn less in this thread but the Courier are really annoying me lately & I needed to rant.
  21. Certainly about the most favourable draw as far as progression goes after failing to be one of the seeded sides.
  22. Airdre was definitely the most desirable of those seeded teams so that's handy.
  23. It was really nice having Open All Mics be actually listenable after all of last season.
