The don't give a shit. They don't watch any matches north of Aberdeen, they just want their pals to get nice cushy jobs. Scottish sports writing is beyond dire, as far as they are concerned Caley & County should just be happy they are allowed in the league, how dare they get shot of absolute failures like McIntyre & Dodds?

I didn't know Neil Oliver posted on here -
...did he sleep through when he was managing Ross County? Because that was all about the results and nothing about the beautiful game

I for one would love to hear John Hughes opine on Aquinas' Summa Theologica, or the Gramscian concept of cultural hegemony. Certainly more than I want to hear him talking about football.

Can you just accept some fans have different viewpoints from you & quit the snide wee remarks? Great result today even if we got lucky with Kevin Clancy being hopeless, thems the breaks in Scottish football I suppose. I share the concerns about the defence of other fans here but at the same time, 4 league games played & 2 clean sheets is promising. It's already 1 better than we managed in the first 4 games last season -
I think the point is the ref probably should have taken 3 seconds more before blowing the whistle.

Sounds the luckiest penalty to give away County have ever given away there.

I'd completely forgotten about Cowie. Yes, when you put it like that he does seem a no-brainer. -

It's just betting odds so it's nothing all that meaningful, but Malky's odds for the Hibs job have apparently shortened, with Mcbookie having him at 7/1. That still boots him behind Neil Lennon & Scott Brown mind. But if he did go, and putting aside whether that would make you happy or sad because it's old ground, have we any ideas on a next permanent manager? Because I haven't a scooby -
Hibernian's Next Permanent Manager 2023 Edition

I hate the comparison tbh. Martindale fucked up, was punished, served his time in prison and has very obviously worked to turn things around. Which is basically the desired outcome for the rehabilitation side of the justice system. Meanwhile Mackay probably didn't break the law (not a lawyer so I'm hedging here) but he's, as far as I'm aware, shown little public contrition aside from getting caught. Maybe he has been very apologetic and sincerely improved behind closed doors and if so, great. But I can only judge him on his public statements until I develop mindreading powers. -

Ross County v Rangers (12:30pm kick off, Sky)

It is awfully embarrassing, or rather it would be if they had the self awareness to be embarrassed... Definitely positives to take from that second half, after the restart County were improved, and had some decent chances. Still can't believe that White headed miss, but the ball in was fantastic and Jordan did a good job finding space and getting free. Bringing on Turner really turned things around and the only knock is "why wasn't he starting!" Looks a very useful signing. No doubt that this County team look a step up from last season. I made the foolhardy choice of sticking on Sportsound after the game only to hear Kenny McIntyre ask if there was anything positive for County to take away! Sake, I'm a massive pessimist but you'd think we got scudded 8-0 the way he was havering on -

At least County have been better this half. Simon Murray's willingness to run himself into the ground has been enjoyable. Josh Sims is not great. Great tackle from Nightingale there. -

No idea how White managed to miss that header 1 minute into the half. So much for the BBC comparing him to Lewandoski... -

What? By Murray being upset you mean being willing to go for a 50-50 ball? Away & shite -

It's just a rumour, but I hear that our manager is a fucking cretin. -

Certainly didn't expect Dhanda back this quickly, that's nice. That said, definitely don't expect anything from this, County's record against Rangers is beyond pathetic, we're a shoe-in to give up a penalty against them considering how many we give up against teams that don't get so many soft decisions. Obviously it'd be nice to pick up something & especially funny to beat them, but can pretty much write it off & just hope there's no injuries or suspensions coming out of this. Happy to be proven embarrassingly wrong mind. -
The thing with Derek Ferguson is he clearly enjoys watching football. He's not the brightest bulb in the house (he might not even be the smartest man in a room only containing Derek Ferguson) but at least he doesn't sound resentful being paid to watch a game of football & report on it. This is the bar that Willie Miller & Pat Bonnar don't manage to clamber over. It's actually kind of impressive that they manage to fail to meet even the lowest of expectations.
