  1. We'll never know, but I'd love to know how much compensation we're sending to Morecambe. Really dunno how I feel about this. Some of my favourite memories of the football are Adams' teams, especially that almost-undefeated Championship winning team. At the same time though, hard to look past how it ended in total acrimony. And it's hard to forget that he's a bit of a walloper, this fantastic quote from when Bradford punted him is on his Wikipedia page. "If [Bradford] are going to get a new manager in they’re not going to get as successful a manager as myself in the door. That’s obvious to everyone, because my record is up there with all the records in this league.” And then they appoint Mark Hughes who gets Bradford into the playoffs in his only full season there. Not even necessarily a bad thing to have a confident manager, but sometimes he did seem to lose touch with reality a bit. But you hope for the best.
  2. Are you really arguing Yan Dhanda isn't better than one of Kettlewell, Lawson, Vigurs or Jimmy Scott? Steady on. And that's not a knock on some of my personal County favourites, Dhanda is just very good
  3. I went on the BBC site to see if there were any rumours on the new boss only to see Adams and having to swear out loud. Well, I hope his time down south has taught him better man management skills than punching his players... Starting to get the impression that MacGregor isn't a very good judge of character...Oh well, it's his toy, he can do what he wants with it I suppose.
  4. I honestly have no idea what most County fans think, that's what I took from the Malky years
  5. I don't care if we only have him until the end of the season, whoever is the next manager needs to set the team up in a way to play through Yan Dhanda. Punting the ball from the back obviously fails to utilise him.
  6. There's a surprise, MacGregor talking out of his arse. But hey, "Malky is a gentleman"!
  7. Yes, & he went to jail for it, he pled guilty & did his time. A whole massive part of our legal system is premised on the principal of rehabilitation, if you don't think Martindale can or even should be given the chance to rehabilitate then that's...well, bonkers but it's a view I guess. Without it the system simply doesn't work, what's someone just out of prison meant to do on release? Just go & do more crime to get by? Seems counterproductive. Are there a list of jobs that ex-cons shouldn't be allowed to do? The key thing is Martindale has very publicly owned up to his past shitty decisions & as far as I can see doesn't really minimise it. Whereas Malky Mackay has never been remotely that transparent. It matters. It's the difference between learning from a fuckup & improving yourself or just feeling embarrassed you got caught. I've done & said dumb shit I'm not remotely proud of when I was younger, but you look back on it & you see where you've fucked up & you own up to it & try to be better. Publicly, & that's all I can judge Mackay on as I lack the ability of reading minds, he has not done that. It's not about jumping on someone when they f**k up, it's about how they react to the f**k up. (Obviously it'd be better if they didn't sell coke & launder cash for a gang or send bigoted texts or whatever else in the first place, but moot point)
  8. Steady on now, no need to compare him to the LinkedIn wankers
  9. Hahaha, that's great. Technically true but who had us in the place where we needed a 3-0 win in the play-off just to get to penalties? Aye, let's give him credit for putting out the fire he set
  10. The Facebook page is utterly deranged. "How can you expect better on such a low budget?" What planet are these people living on?
  11. Malky gone, the government losing the Rwanda case, today is a good day.
  12. I don't even care who it is. I'm just glad I can go back to the football.
  13. Manager is a clown whose primary attribute seems to be pulling the wool over McGregor's eyes
  14. Oh good shout. I had completely erased that time from my mind. So there you go, that's 2 managers Malky has done better than, McStay got 3 months, Coyle got about 6, Malky has had 3 times their combined times in charge.
  15. It was absolutely infuriating. How have they managed to rehash the same fucking talking points for a full year? Never ending
  16. Would anyone have a lower percentage? Wikipedia's list has Owen Coyle at 18.2%, 4 wins in 22. Kettlewell is the next worst at 29.2%. But Wikipedia's list looks like being all competitions, so Scott Leitch gets a bump to 30.4% because of the Challenge Cup win that season. Anyway, that's the company Malky is living in.
  17. Cool, cool. So if this continues then the only thing keeping County off the bottom is goal difference. Someone let me know when I'm allowed to be unhappy with this. At least Livingston are playing Rangers tomorrow so will probably lose.
  18. Bit sensitive there, I think the OP means "the teams around us in the league". Y'know, like the team keeping us off the bottom. It is entirely to fair that if County want to stay up they have to beat the teams below them. Or in this case the one team.
  19. Credit where it's due. Come back like that after the pathetic capitulation on Saturday is a good result, & the manager made the right substitutions.
  20. Aberdeen capitulated to a decent European side, not Motherwell. We concede a lot of goals in the last 20~ minutes of games, a one off to PAOK,3rd in the Greek league just isn't the same. And none of this happens in isolation; Aberdeen didn't get turned over 4-0 by one of the bottom 3 teams
  21. It's Malky putting him in the team. It's Malky's tactics, it's Malky's team at this point full stop. I'm looking at the squad now, & here's the players who predate May 2021: Laidlaw, Randall, White, Ross Munro. Plus some youth players. At what point are we allowed to blame him for a team that continually gives up leads & continually concedes penalties? When does he face any consequences? St Johnstone have jettisoned their manager, if whoever takes over turns things around then we're in deep trouble. Again. Lest we forget how close to relegation County came last season.
  22. Absolutely, and yesterday was further proof. Buck stops at the manager's door for a pitiful collapse like that. It's just so odd that there's still folk who seem deeply emotionally invested in Malky.
  23. Ah, he'll fit in well up here with that attitude unfortunately. At least it's not one of the usual rehashed appointments. Seems like a move that will either work out really well or be a farce, and knowing Gardiner I'd lean more to the latter.
