    FM23

Started a Scotland save, in December 2022 Ange Postecoglu left Celtic for West Ham so they decided to think out the box for his replacement.
  2. Just seen a clip of the Scullion OG. Holy fucking christ.
  3. Yep. Them getting a draw against Kelty to cut it to 2 points isn't great. We need to be going up there towards the end of the season with enough of a cushion so that they can't overtake us if/when they win.
  4. 33.1% in his first spell and currently 6.67%. If you take out the season he got us to the play offs in his first spell then that percentage will be a good bit lower. For comparison, Danny Lennons was 39.9% and Barry Ferguson 38.3%. I know results haven't exactly improved since Duffys appointment this time round but lets not forget the utter shit show he walked into. 3/4 of that squad will be Lowland League at best next season (providing we're not stupid enough to keep them on).
  5. Some guy from way down the food chain just making up the numbers. A Danny Lennon signing written all over it so at least he's not here now to do that!
  6. Fair enough, never knew this. Like you say then more likely he'll be farmed out somewhere else.
  7. No matter how shit they were it did seem strange to let 2 left backs go and not sign one. Perhaps Paul Kennedy has an injury (noticed he was missing from squad on Saturday) meaning Craig would be our only real option there. Recalled early for cover possibly.
  8. Hearing Duthie will be playing in the Glasgow Cup this week, obviously will be nothing close to match fit for proper games but when he is that'll be an option for us out wide so Rennie and/or Cunningham can go up front. I too haven't been very impressed by Doherty so far but admittedly he's got a lot to live up to after our last couple of no 9s.
  9. Quite simply win or bust this game. Fail to win it and we'll finish bottom as I can't see us getting anything up there
  10. James Coppinger, pretty sure he was still playing up until a year or 2 ago. This is superb, I've not really managed to get into the 03/04 or 06/07 mods brought out in the last couple of FM's but I reckon I'm for a save or 2 on this one. My first memories of football are from a tad later (the following season) but this is close enough.
  11. Man Utd 2-2 Leeds - 08/02/23 Funnily enough my last random game attended post in here was the same fixture last season. This was a great game for the neutral. Leeds were 2-0 up before Man Utd rescued a draw which was probably a fair result in the end although either side could've won it with Aaronson of Leeds hitting the post with a free kick in between Man Utds 2 goals and Meslier making 2 stunning saves, 1 in each half from Sabitzer and Varane respectively. I didn't see this clearly until I watched the highlights but Meslier should've done better for the equaliser, with Sanchos shot going right through him. I actually forgot Sancho played for Man Utd until they were reading out the teamsheet, was out the picture the last few months for personal and fitness reasons apparently. Not really any major VAR interventions, think they only checked Leeds first goal for an offside but I can't believe they never looked at a clear kick out on Bamford by Lisandro Martinez in the first half. Martinez was brilliant other than that and I thought Weston McKennie looked a good addition to Leeds midfield. Garnacho was fucking honking and Luke Ayling had him in his pocket. Fred's actually a player I rate more than others seem to but he was another who had a stinker. I've saw Leeds live 3 times now and their fans are up there with the noisiest I've heard and by f**k can they celebrate a goal. The scenes at their 2 goals and the one when I was at the same fixture last season were superb.
  12. I didn't think Parry was too clever for the Dunfermline goal last week either although Cuddihy should've done more to stop the boy getting his shot away in the first place. He isn't perfect by any means but I do think he's been made a bit of a scapegoat since joining us. He's won us a fair number of points too, more so last season but even the opening game of this season where he saves a penalty at 2-1 and we go on to win 4-1. I actually think we might've got relegated last season if Parry wasn't available when Mitchell left and we were stuck with JBH. He's not getting any younger so I probably would move him on in the summer and Muir would seem like a good replacement (especially if we're in L2) but I just personally don't think Parry's been as bad as some seem to think.
  13. I would guess it's Lyon at LB. Sure he was used there sometimes at Stenny. Whether he was good or not is a different matter...
  14. The return of Duthie should strengthen the wide areas and I have a feeling we'll see more of Cunningham there too now we have 2 new strikers. Like I said yesterday LB and middle of the park the obvious areas to me if we're looking at a couple more additions
  15. Still working on a couple more additions too. Hopefully a left back and a centre mid
  16. They're saying potentially a replacement for Trippier longer term. Problem is Trippier is probably in the form of his life and not looking like winding down any time soon.
  17. re Rennie interview It's good to have some information from the horses mouth regarding what we can expect from a new player rather than some of the nonsense Danny Lennon was spouting about the likes of Billy Mortimer and Kieran McGrath
  18. I wasn't surprised one bit. Our players simply don't have the minerals to win the battle in a fixture like the Peterhead one where there's no quality on show and you just have to roll your sleeves up and win the game by any means. Could see a 1-0 defeat from a set peice coming a mile off. Even at EEP like you say we should've won but bottled it by giving away 2 of the stupidest penalties you're ever likely to see. Dunfermline win by 2 or 3 here.
  19. Ian McShane is a good player and was brilliant last night.
  20. This is all from the same game! When we beat Celtic 2-1 in the Scottish Cup in 2006, numerous decisions would've been overturned today. First of all we went 1-0 up with a perfectly good bit of upper body strength from Tom Brighton to get away from Du Wei. Disallowed for a "foul". Then we scored a second through Alex Williams after some pinball in the box. Disallowed for offside when he wasn't. When our 3rd goal of the day through Craig Bryson finally counted, it shouldn't have as Williams was offside from the cross he challenged Boruc for (they both missed it and left Bryson an open goal). This part wasn't a goal as such but we then get a correctly awarded penalty for a Du Wei professional foul, who somehow escapes any sort of punishment. Was a clear red but didn't even see yellow. We got a goal disallowed in the 2nd half too but my memory of that incident is fazy compared to the others so can't remember if it was correctly or incorrectly ruled out. It's fair to say Kenny Clark and his mates had an absolute mare that day. Thank f**k we still won
  21. The saddest thing is you could anticipate that result coming a mile off. The vast majority of our players just don't have the balls to roll their sleeves up and win the battle.
