  1. Wouldn't say Vane fitted myself. The path, such as there is, is not easy to follow and the hill itself is very steep in places. I had to physically pull someone up in places. Great views from the top though. Beinn Ime is a good suggestion though. There is a good path from Arrochar at least as far at the bealach below the summit and if you go on a clear day you cannot really go wrong from there.
  2. I was in that area myself with my Uni walking club. A few folk went up Beinns Ime and Narnain. I did Ben Vane. Absolutely beautiful day; don't think i have ever had such a clear day. I'll try and put a few of my photos up when I've had a look through them. Also, I went out last weekend to Creag Meagaidh. What a totally horriffic day. When it wasn't snowing it was hailing. Or raining, constantly windy. All my waterproofs let in.
  3. Was up Tom a' Choinich in Glen Affric the other day. Actually enjoyed the walk despite the awful weather: it rained until we had come off the summit, when it cleared (typically). Imagine it would be an excellent walk in good weather. Went to Dog Falls afterwards. That was a really beautiful place.
  4. Quite right. I know a couple who are planning on walking from Assynt down to Fort William during the summer after they finish uni. My dad was also planning a walk from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh over the mountains between Glen Strathfarrer and Kintail (or something like that). Would love to do something like that myself some day.
  5. Excellent thread this. First Munro I did was Carn na Caim, the one Silver's just done. Very similar sounding day when I went up actually, wildlife and no people. I've been out for ages with a foot injury, can't really stand it much longer. At least I now know who to annoy with all the details when I do get back out B)
