Just bought tickets for the Editors there. Only seen them once before (in Dundee) and thought they were excellent. I also noticed that Of Monsters and Men are playing the Barrowlands in November but it's on a Monday night which totally sucks baws.

Metafit is brutal. The actual exercise part only lasts about 20 mins but you'll be sweating buckets and your limbs will be shaking like mad. It's a fine class to go to if you're stretched for time.

I've not been to see the Yankees but I went to see the Blue Jays v Red Sox when I was in Toronto a couple of years back and loved it. I didn't have a clue what was happening but the atmosphere was great (if somewhat different) and the boy beside me was more than happy to explain what was happening. Throw in a few beers and you've got yourself a lovely old time. I'd recommend it.

Just watched this at the cinema since the fitba was cancelled. I too thought it was excellent. Cooper was fantastic in his role and I was also impressed with Sienna Miller's performance. I'd give it a 9/10.

Just finished watching it myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. A wee bit 80's in style and a bit cheesy at times but I thought it was great fun. I did laugh out loud on a couple of occasions as well. I'm also going to give it an 8.5.

Aye. If I go on a long, slow run (say 10 miles +) to build up my base i'll try and run at a tempo that keeps my heart rate at roughly 135 - 145 bpm.I'll maybe then later in the week try a shorter but much faster run where my heart rate is nearer it's maximum (roughly 185 bpm). I think, in short, it's a good idea to keep an eye on your heart rate throughout your run just so you're not putting too much stress on your heart every time you head out. Also, if you're constantly training near your max bpm you'll be at a level where your body finds it really difficult to remove all the excess lactic acid. Edit - might be talking pish with the last bit but i'm sure i've heard that before. Somebody else on here will know better than me.

Is it a heart rate monitor that strap to your chest? If so I wear one when I go out running and they can be a bit of a nuisance to start with but you do get used to them. They're quite a handy piece of kit for training.

Have you read the review of his autobiography that was on the When Saturday Comes website? If not I suggest you do as it sums him up perfectly. The Spanish commentary did always raise a laugh although that may have been on the short-lived Friday night show.
