Presumably Ra Gers get revenue from selling real tops to tubes and these wallopers buy fake ones thus doing their club out of cash.
Pars and Hearts survived and Rangers died... nae wunner.

I've got an overcoat that I wore to school and was bought from Flip of Hollywood about 1989. And a 1988 vintage Meadowbank home strip.
I don't think either fit.

Aye not sure what the budgets will be for Cowden or Civil Service next season.
Strollers budget next season: the cube root of f*ck all
Cowden's budget next season: a more generous square root of f*ck all..
At least Edinburgh City can outbid both of you- we've got f*ck all

Ally McCoist in a cracking Scotland away strip in Belgium in 1987 on a night we were skelped 4-1 against a Belgian side inspired by Nico Claesen who scored a hat trick.
Paul McStay scored a belter on an otherwise night to forget from a Scottish perspective, neither side made it to the European Championships in West Germany the following year, we actually finished above Belgium, coming third in the group, this was the campaign a late Gary Mackay winning goal in Bulgaria prevented them from qualifying and allowing Ireland to make it to their first major tournament.
I've got that shirt.
I bought it in a sale for a fiver over 30 years ago.
It would be worth £££s now but mine's a bit tatty.
Not for sale btw.

I read an article years ago about Ian Paisley doing missionary work in Africa and there was an Orange Lodge established in whichever African country he was in.
I doubt the African lodge ever get invited to take part in marches over here though.

Where Christie Gillies Park is now used to be the second (and shiter) pitch at Muirhouse. Strollers played on a pitch in front of the pavilion where the indoor pitches are now.

England were deliberately placed on the island of Sardinia during Italia 90 as the authorities didn't want them and the challenges of policing their fans on the Italian mainland and potential clashes, here they are with a friendly looking police presence prior to kick off against The Netherlands.
I've always felt the trouble that tends to follow the English national team's physce comes from the arrogance and rhetoric espoused by historians, politicians and even journalists that Britain, or more specifically England is the subliminal master race, the British empire, the Commonwealth, we civilised many countries and races and gave them our language and all that fucking bullshit, thick dull brain racists buy into all that shite and you get scores of meat heads following the national team who feel it is their duty to stand, bare chested in town squares drinking pints, singing Rule Brittania and shouting abuse and throwing the odd punch or plastic chair at anyone who looks at them the wrong way.
What's interesting is to compare that image from nearly 35 years ago to this recent image:
Our Southern pals have reclaimed the St George's Cross as their own and it's the Union Flag that now seems to be the choice for racists and tossers

Surely Brechin going from the Championship in 2017-18 to the Highland League in 2021-22 will never be beaten? A highly impressive feat.

ChatGPT keeps asking if I'm a bot today. The fucking nerve.
In case anyone's wondering why sites do this, considering how easy it would be for a bot to detect and click the box, apparently the test is how the mouse pointer is moved. Bots currently find it difficult to mimic how cack-handed and slow humans are.

Radio Scotland.. great..
Edinburgh City played Montrose last Tuesday- not particularly important or interesting but the Mo are going for a play off place.
Radio Scotland reported the results of the Champions League games that weren't even involving English teams, let alone Scottish ones and were silent on City's glorious win...

The Shire were in the bottom division from the early 1980s until 2016 which is about 34 years. They came close to promotion once or twice during that spell but were mostly dugmeat.

Edinburgh United 2-4 Tweedmouth Rangers
In Switz... sorry Edinburgh today for some East Second Action. Any locals know the architectural reasonings behind the stand? It's magnificent.
First time ever seeing Edinburgh United and a first visit to Paties Road. You find it in amongst Cricket Pitches, Tennis Courts and Big houses. Proper midden this bit. A eventful first half sees the sides in level despite the visitors missing a penalty. Tweedmouth run riot in the second half. Two consolation goals for United take the shine off the performance but Tweedmouth secure a valuable three points that could go a long way to relegating United and saving themselves.
Paties Road is fantastic. Cannie believe we didn't come years ago. We'll worth your time if you're looking for football in Edinburgh
I used to have a copy of a booklet that someone had posted somewhere about Paties Road- it was originally built for use of Heriot Watt University.
It was the revived Edinburgh City's first ground too.
Until fairly recently there was a nursery school in the back of the stand which made for a bizarre visit!
Posh neighbours Merchiston Castle School moved out to that campus from the Merchiston area. Their old campus hosted an FA Cup Tie between Queens Park and Nottingham Forest in Eighteen Oatcake. There's not a lot of people know that.

Buckie won the Highland League today.
Imagine they beat EK in the play off and then decide they don't particularly want to go up. A couple of dodgy own goals in a match against Clyde later...

We got a penalty today???!

That's unremarkable in the English Premiership. He'll go for bids starting at minimum 70-80m if they sell him in the summer. A striker in mid table team hitting 20 goals in the Premiership will be in big demand. And if Man United come in they'll end up paying well over the odds.
Talking of English fees:
Back in 2015:
"Cardiff City have signed striker Eoin Doyle from Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee worth around £1m."
It's a bit of a ridiculous market down south

This absolute w**k
The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.
To quote Niles Crane: "If you tortured that metaphor any more you'd be before a tribunal in the Hague."
Is one of Taylor's songs called "Ode to a small lump of green putty I found in my armpit one midsummer morning"?
If not she can f**k off.
Signed
Paul Neil Milne Johnstone of Redbridge

Galloway takes its name from the Gaelic for "strange Gael" as they were a mixture of teuchters and Vikings.
Even 1200 years ago they were considered a strange bunch down there..
