  1. Was it not generally accepted that the pass back rule being introduced fucked Leighton as being considered a top quality keeper? He was horrific for Dundee but then went on to play for Hibs, Aberdeen again & more appearances for Scotland after us so go figure. As for Kelly, him not managing to keep Seny Dieng out of the team at QPR concerns me and I don't see the big fuss around him but appreciate that everyone else seems to think he's the business. As for Clark, he's been in absolute exceptional form for about 9 or so months, but has been average as f**k for about 6-7 year before that. Either one as our number 1 would need to go down as being the weakest we've been in that position since... well, as far as I can remember.
  2. Fell down a John Hughes worm hole as he was being discussed in the Dundee thread and started looking at his signings over the years. I'd hope you guys have a DoF to do signings for you over his tenure: Starting with Hibs 09-10: Danny Galbraith, Patrick Cregg, Kevin McBride, Graham Stack, Liam Miller, Graeme Smith, Mark Brown & Anthony Stokes. - 1 successful signing in Stokes. Hibs 10-11: David Stephens, Michael Hart, Edwin de Graaf, Francis Dickoh, Valdas Trakys, Matt Thornhill & 100k for Martin Scott. - 0 successful signings. Livi 12-13: Tony Andreu (wasn't a success until Hamilton), Jordan Morton, David Luongo, Burton O'Brien & Jesus Garcia Tena - 0 successful signings. Inverness 14-15: Taarmo Kink, Edward Ofere, Ibra Sekajja, Lewis Horner & Ryan Baptie. - 0 successful signings. Inverness 15-16: Nat Wedderburn, Ryan Christie (loaned back to ICT - so not counting), Jordan Roberts, Dani Lopez, Owain Fon Williams, Iain Vigurs, Miles Storey, Tobi Sho-Silva, Dani Lopez & Alex Fisher. - 2 successful signings in Vigurs & Storey. Raith 16-17: Pavol Penska, David Syme & Scott Roberts - 0 successful signings. Ross County 20-21: Tony Andreu, Mohamed Maouche, Leo Hjelde, Joe Hilton & Jordan White. - 1 successful signing in White. So since his successful spell with Falkirk in his first managerial job, he's signed 4 players who could be deemed as a success for the clubs he's managed in 12 years of management. Oft. I know a few can be debated but when we're counting the likes of Jordan White & Miles Storey as amongst his best ever signings then you get the point.
  3. Apologies in advance this has nothing to do with Dundee. Just fell down a wormhole regarding Yogi. I know we've kind of passed the Yogi point and even then, the argument was about his coaching ability rather than his managerial prowess, but I've had a quick look at his signings over the years and holy f**k. Even the poorest of Dundee managers have a better signing track record. Starting with Hibs 09-10: Danny Galbraith, Patrick Cregg, Kevin McBride, Graham Stack, Liam Miller, Graeme Smith, Mark Brown & Anthony Stokes. - 1 successful signing in Stokes. Hibs 10-11: David Stephens, Michael Hart, Edwin de Graaf, Francis Dickoh, Valdas Trakys, Matt Thornhill & 100k for Martin Scott. - 0 successful signings. Livi 12-13: Tony Andreu (wasn't a success until Hamilton), Jordan Morton, David Luongo, Burton O'Brien & Jesus Garcia Tena - 0 successful signings. Oft.
  4. Not many of his former club's speak highly of him despite his 'success'. He simply cannot build a team and the team usually has a complete meltdown after they've punted him usually due to the atrocious squad he leaves behind. He was sacked by Hibs, done nothing at Livi, sacked by Hartlepool after relegating them to League 2, we can say that Raith were 'fucked anyway' but he had a Kernaghan/McIntyre esque record with them in the league below, ended up playing an outfielder in goal due to not being able to get a keeper in, publicly flogged his team every week & eventually had the kit man giving a team talk. I don't think that counts as having never done a bad job tbh.
  5. Really disappointing to see no-one on the Caley forum continue the 'abuse'.
  6. Won't hear a word against him. Top keeper. Neil Sullivan and Paul Gallacher on the other hand...
  7. His maw needs to stay off social media if she's getting upset over absolutely nothing which the above is. ETA: Just read her Twitter and see that she's an anti-vax moron. And yer man has been forced into an apology over it all. f**k sake.
  8. It is over, but we have a 'free' week as our fixture with Hibs was rearranged for December as they play in the League Cup Semi this weekend.
  9. I've a real problem with people just shouting 'GOAL'. I don't usually tune in from 2pm and it feels like if you don't do that, then you've not got a chance to get an idea of who is covering what game. I'd much prefer if they could include the team name instead of waiting ages. Sometimes they don't even name the team and just name the player which is extra frustrating if the name is something like 'Smith' and could be a player from about 12 teams.
  10. Pulled off one of the best saves I've seen at Dens (Olejnik that is). Player took a shot, he'd dived for it, deflected off a player and he spun in the air to push it away.
  11. Gregory Vignal is our unofficial U18s assistant manager on a voluntary basis. Decent that. Scott Paterson has also apparently been helping out with the youth.
  12. Finlay Robertson is in a Paul Hartley team that is based around getting the ball on the deck tbf. They have basically built their team round Fraser Fyvie and have had more possession (usually by a fair distance ie around the 56-61% overall) in pretty much every game this season bar a few exceptions. If he can't dominate the midfield for an upper tier League 1 team that keep the ball on the ground, generally speaking, then what hope has he got at doing it at a higher up level? Not writing him off as he's clearly very talented, but maybe he's at the right level for his development just now?
  13. That's what happens when someone is so pompous they'd rather double down rather than hold their hands up tbh.
  14. What a fucking sour pussed, ignorant and moronic c**t.
  15. The noises Ally McCoist is making is exactly why he's the best co-commentator in football.
  16. Yasss big Morten. Get McPake to f**k and get him in Nelms.
  17. It's winding Schmeichel up like f**k though which can only be a good thing.
  18. This is really feeling like when yer diddy team is fired up to pump one of the OF and then they score just before HT on the counter.
  19. We are playing with a high tempo when in possession and clearly trying to be brave in possession. Denmark look just much more naturally comfortable with the ball though. Reckon we will create a few chances. Doing well so far. Just imperative we don't switch off for a second.
  20. The Times is suggesting that Billy Dodds could be bailing out on you to join GVB's backroom team.
  21. Not sure if we'd made it official or not that we weren't renewing his deal but aye, technically.
