  1. Logically, we are the bigger club. I can completely understand why some people would suggest United are bigger due to recency bias in their lifetime as we've been ran by some amount of absolute charlatans that would make Rangers, Livi & any other basket case club benefactors look positively competent over the last 40 or so years.

United have been much better run than us and that shows with their now regular higher attendances and more recent accomplishments.

To coin a phrase from St Johnstone's manager, however, it looks like natural order is being restored in recent times.

  2. I swear Kenny MacIntyre starts every Sportsound when the Premiership isn't playing with, 'VAR isn't in operation in today, THANKFULLY, because we are fed up talking about it but UNFORTUNATELY recent decisions mean we must mention it...' then proceeds to spend the whole show talking about it.

It may make this team statistically more successful but it would not make them player for player a better team. No one would seriously make that claim, certainly compared to the 1928 team. Shankland, Dykes, Adams or Hughie Gallacher ? McTominey or Alex James ? Ryan Christie or Alan Morton ? Aye, right !!!

Other than Tierney and Robertson, there's not many in the current side that individually are the best we've had in their respective positions - ones that can certainly be debated over but only a couple such as McGinn.

Individually - I think we had better players in much, much worse eras. If we look at Vogts as the lowest we've ever been (I wouldn't necessarily say that was the case - I thought we sunk lower in the Burley & Levein eras) the likes of David Weir, Paul Lambert and Barry Ferguson would probably (again, people can debate) individually get into our current 11, but this is by far, not even close to the best team and squad we've had in a long, long time. The fact that we're needing to talk about 1928 is testament to that.

And what “ system” would that be then ?

You need to calm down and stop having a meltdown because people have the audacity to not agree that your hero is absolutely brilliant.

He might well be the best Scotland have right now but whether he is or isn't, the position is still a weak point and it's not exactly a major accomplishment if he is.

  5. Must admit, I quite like Dykes as an out ball against the bigger nations.

Tonight was never going to be his night. A target man that's not insanely mobile against 3 CH's is always a hiding to nothing and we barely changed it from that all night.

That's on Clarke regardless of the quality or lack thereof of our strikers.
