Is there anything that explains what’s required for each tier? Youth, legal and ground are reasonably self explanatory, but first team?!
Also what the relevance is when RC passed them all but were refused.
It's all about having certain amount of coaches etc. We employ someone who's covers a multitude of jobs whereas to get a higher grading you need a specific person for each role. That's obviously not the only thing but one of the factors. I've went into detail about it before but basically Strachan disagrees with the philosophy of it all and we've went down our own completely different path. That's the youth I'm talking about. I'd imagine it'd be the same coach wise for the first team.

Speaking of training facilities... Courier is reporting that we've been given the go ahead to build our own training facilities and complex at Riverside.

I think this is probably one of the biggest misconceptions fans have about "qualifying for Europe" at this level.
Which isn't a knock if you do end up qualifying but if you look at the various peer group clubs who have qualified for Europe in the time since Dundee last competed in European competition (us, St Johnstone, Killie, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, United etc) how many of them can you honestly say had access to any "high quality" loans as a direct result of qualifying for Europe that they wouldn't have had a decent chance of getting anyway.
You've got your tie in with Burnley and you got Beck through the door when you were a newly promoted side. The prospect of playing a few qualifying rounds in the Conference league isn't really going to make much difference in a club like say, Liverpool, deciding on whether Dundee is a good destination for their player to develop.
There was a tour of our training facilities for season ticket holders at the start of the season and it was said that loan deals from England are largely based on the facilities. Apparently, the top English clubs grade potential loan clubs facilities and judge who they allow to a club based on that which is why we were able to secure Beck and about to secure another player for next season.
It could well be an exaggeration by the people doing the tour but our training facilities are on par with some of the better English clubs that would be a potential loan destination ie, middling Championship/top end League 1 clubs hence how we beat a few English teams for Beck, got Jon McCracken in ahead of an English side and was the reason (alongside our partnership) that Burnley recalled Costelloe and Mellon from St Johnstone & Morecambe respectively and sent them to us.
Docherty continually points to the fact that clubs will also look at the success that most of our loans have had and take that into contention too.

Calum Scanlon.
Sounds more realistic tbf.
I was just thinking Chambers because he's went to a middling League 1 side for half a season as opposed to a Championship gig, younger than Beck and we now have a good relationship with Liverpool and are being credited with developing Beck to a higher level and finally and most importantly, the fact that I didn't know any other youth LB's currently on their books.

I always wonder how people quote WWE making say a £1million off a 12,000 seater (no maths went into those figures, just plucked at random) and now I understand why.
In the US, during the PPV era, they were charging about $80 per PPV so no surprise to think we'll accept those sort of in the flesh ticket prices.
Imagine Mania came to the UK.

What position does Callum Paterson play these days and where's he at? I'd honestly prefer him as a call-up for the back-up RB spot instead of Ralston.

We are apparently in for a Liverpool LB that is not Owen Beck but with an apparent equally high potential for next season. Unlikely, but possibility that could be Luke Chambers. What was he like for you lads?

Can't see anyone out with the OF having the funds to prize him away tbh. I believe one of Hearts or Aberdeen offered him a PCA last season before he signed a new deal with us so they can look all they like.

Been reported that Dundee have given Celtic less tickets than they normally do.
Don't know the amount, but well done for doing what most other top league clubs have done recently

Alas not. They've been given the same allocation they always get, unfortunately. We just sometimes sell a portion of them ourselves to ensure Celtic fans aren't trying to purchase tickets in the Dundee end. We've did this a few times when Celtic are in more, shall we say, 'jubliant' moods.

Vaughan and Hamilton are good lower end top flight strikers IMO (and Vaughan could have been so much more if not for injuries). Rudden is a middling Championship striker.
Hopefully you keep him.

I'd have Baka on all day before Main, personally.

It's often mentioned that Dundee United have a better head to head record against us due to the fact that we never really played them during our glory years and it was only as they had Jerry Kerr and Jim McLean tearing it up that we started playing each other more.
They must have spent a significant amount of time in the lower tiers up until say the 70s?

This game is dull as f**k.

Reminds me of a moment at Dens on Wednesday. One, clearly fairweather fan sitting near me, pondered why the Dundee fans were booing the Rangers fans singing 'Rule Britannia' as, 'we are all British here!'

That defending was fucking abysmal. Dessers sent Atkinson for a half time pie. Fucking hell.

If Hearts win today, is it enough for there to be question marks over the bald frauds future?

I absolutely approve but is there a specific reason for Clark being dropped for Gordon or just giving Gordon some game time?

Is Walton top flight good? Never really seen him be tested on the TV games. Usually had nothing to do or conceded a goal that he could do nothing about.
Who do you lads think Goodwin is going to keep going into next season?

Eric Nicholson is the biggest fucking roaster employed by DC Thomson's and that's some going considering they give Jim Spence free space to rant about nonsense.

I've heard wee rumours, nothing concrete, but decent things that we've already did a lot of business for next season in terms of extending contracts and signing players on PCAs. Not heard any names but rumours are abound.

We took roughly the same off the top 6 than our fellow bottom 5 (granted 3 extra games) which shows we spread our malaise remarkably evenly.
It's always felt a thing for us that we make hard work of teams we really should tuck away either through resources, form, pedigree both in cups and even a Bavarian works team in preseason. Dundee's hauls this season show they've tucked away the rest of the diddies.
The use of the multiple dots after "similar revenues" was also considered and deliberate.
If that is the case for Dundee with set pieces then they've ran moneyball stuff through a program and realised thats where to capitalise. Wonder if they have a dedicated coach which is now a thing at bigger clubs.
We've apparently been using Burnley's supercomputer data stuff (f**k knows) which is apparently lightyears ahead of the stuff any club uses in Scotland.
It does help that we have the likes of Lee Ashcroft, Joe Shaughnessy, Ricki Lamie, Amadou Bakayoko, Curtis Main and Aaron Donnelly all being big b*****ds and Luke McCowan, Lyall Cameron, Owen Beck and even the likes of our poorer players like Owen Dodgson able to take an absolutely brilliant set piece delivery.

Genuinely can't believe what an absolute fucking shambles and 'just as bad as the rest' politically in just a few short years.
So demoralising.
