  1. Most of us on here have seen us at the peak of potentially the highest position the club will ever be in the league system from now on. On the flip side, when you tumble down the leagues (deservedly so) in the manner in which we have watching some absolute dross along the way and getting pumped out of the cup competitions as quick as we have, it's only really then people can see why we celebrated the way we did. We are still struggling in the Lowland league this season but at least we have a fairly entertaining side on the park with a few individuals who can genuinely excite a crowd - that's a far cry from the spiral we've been on for nearly the last decade. There seems to be a connection developing again between support and players too which I guess is being driven by the manager and has staff, along with having some really decent guys in the squad. If anything I'd say it was a compliment to Kilwinning that it happened the way it did - it wasn't a brilliant game but it was certainly a tough one for both sides and one which in recent years we'd have lost.
  2. Ach it is what it is. Barring a wee trip to Inverness the season is pretty much done. Bad day at the office against a very capable Boness side. I imagine there will be a lot of Callum's energy already being allocated towards next season. In spite of a poor league position (a lot to do with injuries plus a leaky defence) there's plenty to build upon. We have some very capable players and I trust the backroom team to strengthen come the season end, and I agree we should spare the money until then.
  3. Agree with this. For two clubs having (to my knowledge) zero history of competing to two meaty and entertaining affairs in quick succession is as surprising as it is welcome. When all is said and done as far as a supporters perspective, we all just want the best for our own sides. Always good to look forward to games that have a little bite about them and both sides going at each other from the start.
  4. Just watched the highlights. Must say night and day with regards to the after match interviews. Especially with regards the 'B' teams - he's absolutely bang on the money, could not put it better myself. The gaffer is a tit though.
  5. Try being a Cowden Supporter since beating the pars in May 2014. Mon doon, it's fun.
  6. Please be specific, what 'abuse' did you hear while the guy was being stretchered off? I'm interested as there were quite a few Cowden fans clapping him off. Right after the tackle there was understandable shouts of abuse due to the idiocy of the challenge and lack of action from the referee. Ironic that after what your manager alluded to after the Celtic B game in his interview, the over exuberance of one of your players cost himself a serious injury.
  7. Hopefully the guy recovers as quick as possible and it doesn't affect his full time job in whatever he does. That said, he absolutely threw himself into a challenge that could have put a Cowden player on the same stretcher, he should have been booked at the very minimum. Silly attempt at a 'tackle'.
  8. I certainly wasn't one of the halfwits wearing Linlithgow colours anyway. Wouldn't expect that level of greeting faces at an under 10's game. Embarrassing stuff really.
  9. Just home and my heid is still nipping with those whinging cretins antics. They're consistent I'll give them that. Game could have went either way, we really should have went 2-1 up with Ewan's 1 on 1 but then they had a couple of chances too. Looking forward to meeting them again, I'll take my earplugs though.
  10. I think we know now the blunt Linlithgow manager is a member on here. We see you Mr Hologram and I hope our side absolutely pump your team of greeting faced toerags on Saturday...again.
  11. Linlithgow had a bit about them in the Scottish Cup game so that result slightly surprises me. Stating the obvious but we really need to start taking our chances if we're to come out victorious. I'm expecting a bit of needle again.
  12. They really should show games at this point involving wee diddy teams to help them out a bit... Big Dunc could do with some cash to help bolster his side to pull away from the bumhole of the Championship after all.
  13. Ironically I'd suggest some of our best performances this season came in the league Cup against teams from leagues above. ICT are struggling and I've never seen us pull off a shock. If we have a full strength side all playing well and a decent bit of fortune, why shouldn't we believe we can cause an upset?
  14. Agree we're very likely not to progress and won't be a huge crowd however it's a different ground in a lovely city. As far as an away day/weekend goes for supporters it should be a cracker.
  15. So the pars in rd 3 at EEP? Can't argue with that.
  16. Just read that 3 of the Blue Brazil under 17's played a 45 minutes each too. Brilliant to hear. Hopefully we pick up a few gems over the next wee while.
  17. Absolutely pummelled them the first half when they stole a goal near the half time whistle albeit it well taken. We were pretty good as well as them not really offering much. They had far more of the game the 2nd half, scoring a 2nd direct from the corner - I'm convinced it was meant and what a beauty it was, right into the top shelf with wind helping the swerve. They huffed and puffed but still gave some chances away which we wasted but deservedly scored a 4th to make it more comfortable. All in all a good days work barring a nervy 10/15 minute spell in the 2nd half. Credit to WW though, worked hard but not a lot of end product. Butterworth at times was unplayable, if we have any aspirations on building on this squad I'd love to keep him but feel he's only going to get better and move up the levels. For a change I think the referee had a decent game too but not too much to deal with I guess. Braw.
  18. Looks like Rose were fortunate to get a point albeit with a couple of decent chances at 1-1. Fair play Berwick. How did the entitled galacticos of Roseshire act this week at what on paper looked as though it should have been a formality due to Berwick's struggles?
  19. Did anyone stay to sing that silly English anthem at the end? Curious.
  20. McNab has quickly became one of my favourite players of recent times. The boy has ability and the way he conducts himself on the pitch is exemplary. That piece is heartbreaking though and only increases my admiration for the boy. What a brilliant attitude to have.
  21. Only one club in this league where Bucks will end up methinks. Be amazed if he didn't end up at £K. In spite of my very first memory of visiting Berwick was seeing a brawl break out after full time as well as the many other scuffles that happened around that time, I wish you guys all the best. A brutally honest statement that could come from a number of clubs looking to get out this league.
  22. Just seen the highlights there. How the hell the referee hasn't gave a foul for the boot to Dougie right before a penalty was awarded is mind blowing. What the f**k was the referee watching or the linesman for that matter? Jesus wept man. Imagine the uproar if one of the 2 arsecheeks had this happen to them.
  23. Wow. What a battle that was. Game could have went either way and it was a weird one at that. We nicked a goal from 1 of 2 stonewall penalties in the sane passage of play but 0-0 at the break would have been a fairer scoreline. Both teams had decent chances in the second half with us having the best of them, genuinely could have been 3 zip before the equaliser which you could easily have predicted. I feared the worst for extra time but thankfully we found a way to grind it out. Getting the speedy McPherson back was the main reason for that, forcing the keeper into a silly mistake that he had no right to attempt to win. Really really stupid. Game was far from pretty but again the endeavour and fight in this group of players is a delight. Linlithgow on the other hand, while possessing a decent bunch of players were an utter embarrassment in their antics. Up there with the worst bunch trying to referee the game for yet another weak set of officials. I'm delighted we got it right up them as well as the fucker that was subbed on up front, what a whinging little arsehole he was. The big boy who got sent off for them was a very decent player but made an absolute Noel Hunt of it for his side and their chances of getting another equaliser, and by that point, Linlithgow had completely lost the plot. The away support going mental at the ballboys was a joy to behold too Good to edge it in the end but really was one that either team could have won. Really looking forward to the league game with them now.
