Off The Ball - Is it good?
DA Baracus replied to Buddist Monk's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Get Tam Cowan punted. He's has his time. He was brilliant on Off The Ball for many, many years. I even enjoyed Offside. Sadly he's been rank on Off The Ball for ages. He's become massively, massively more sycophantic towards two teams. Almost every segment now must involve said teams. The ignorance of the lower leagues is pish (Cosgrove is just as bad for this). They've become too much of what they used to (proudly) stand against. -
Walking Down The Halbeath Road
DA Baracus replied to Parscelona's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
A standard must be set. Said standard must align with the goals of the club. Presumably these goals will be to get promoted to the Premiership. In pursuit of these goals the club must be ruthless when it comes to players and especially younger players. Younger players shouldn't get extensions past a certain age just in case they'll be decent. For younger players, if you aren't showing enough by a younger age then sorry, please leave. You'll miss a couple of guys who make it but the majority of the ones you keep (after various criteria at various age limits). -

Yes if Chalmers goes. Which he won't as he (Chalmers) will be under contract for a further year. -
The Arbroath Thread
DA Baracus replied to Lichtie78's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Will be sorry to see you lads go. Have had a soft spot for Arbroath for years. Love the town, one of my favourite away days, with multiple excellent pubs (was in The Lochlands pre-match, in West Port after as always). My second best chippy of all time was in one down in the harbour in Arbroath. I think Gayfield is an excellent ground. Any Lichties fans I've met have been sound as f**k. -
I don't mean a big defeat against a better team. I mean a game your team at least had a chance to win and not just in a regular game. I mean in a big/significant game. Also I don't mean when your team played well and lost. I mean when your team played pish in a big game and utterly shat it. Too many come to mind for the Pars sadly. The top two for me though are the European loss in Perth and the playoff final second leg defeat to Cowdenbeath at East End.

Well played you hideous scum. Genuine congratulations. Obviously I would have loved to have seen you down there for years and years, but you've won the league and utterly smashed it. Will enjoy our visits to Grangemouth next season and hope we pump you. Good to have you back*.
-
Hope you c***s lose at least one! Anyway, what is the emotion the night? Is it a big exhale, a huge relief? Or is it a big hooring celebration? A mix of both? Keep the Sheffield fans away next season.
-
Not saying this will necessarily be the case for Raith, but Arbroath, Partick and Queen's Park have shown that you really need to take the chance when it's there or it may come back around for a long time*. *Although it could come around next season, but the prominent examples weight evidence the other way.

Outrageously poor second half from us. Really good turnout from our fans but shockingly quiet crowd. Where were the 'famous' Section NW? Anyway, played good first half (but have played better) and took a big lead. Thought we'd see it out and maybe get one or two more. Instead we utterly shat it and let them back in to it big time. We were meek in challenges, poor and wasteful on the ball and seemed to lack confidence. We got away with it when we should have cruised to a win second half. Still, pleased with the win.

See you next season lads.

Anyway, we haven't even had to play that well but are utterly cruising. We can play significantly better yet have a three goal lead. Mehmet made a good save but aside from that Arbroath have offered nothing. Arbroath definitely have that stink of a team going down. Their players know it, their manager knows it and their fans know it Shame, I like Arbroath, as an away day, a town, a ground and a club. Don't see them sinking like Brechin though. Think they'll remain a solid League One club and come back up at some point.

Sportsound Watch
DA Baracus replied to ScotlandThomas's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Genuinely 'yooj' day in Scottish football today. Falkirk and Stenhousemuir can win their leagues today. Plenty of playoff intrigue in those leagues too. Then we have the undisputed game of the day at Tannadice, along with interest throughout the league with every other team still in with a chance of playoff place (either end, although Partick are probably safe from 9th). But of course we'll get loads of talk about Sevco and Celtic instead and live commentary from Aybrix. Cowardly, sycophantic and detestable. Thankfully I won't listen to a single second of it as will be at the football. -

Wales/the Welsh/the Welsh national team are fine. I don't get the hate for them.
