  1. Very much a game of two halves yesterday, but the mention of our win being undeserved are way off the mark. Thought we were so dominant in that second half that it was deserved.

Paton completely changed the game and he, along with SK, deserve the credit for those 3pts.

Not that I think anyone needed yesterday to show it, but we cannot have Bair as a starter or we are in bother. He is simply not good enough at this level. I fully expect that we will have atleast 1 more striker signed up before the deadline.

  2. Really big month or so coming up, which will give us an idea on the likelihood of us avoiding the drop. Whilst Hammell is hardly going to come out and say that we will be bringing in a coach load of new players in January, the noises about 1 or 2 is concerning.
Moult and Aarons are both away back to their respective clubs, so I would expect as a minimum that they are replaced. Would be good to offload Morris back down the road, but can’t see him having a long list of interested clubs. I’m not convinced we are going to be able to get the quality that is needed.

The team are weak both physically and mentally. There is no way that this lot come out on top in a relegation battle, they will shit the bed!

Alexander is still to blame for this shambles of a squad, but Hammells inexperience is showing badly. Make or break next 5 months!

  3. Jake Hastie.
Was thrown in by Robinson in Jan 2019 and he had a ridiculous purple patch of a couple of months. Was out of contract in the summer and got a move to Rangers. Can’t blame him for jumping at it as it turns out he isn’t actually very good.

Dont think he ever played a competitive match for Rangers and has had mediocre to dugshit loan spells at Rotherham, back to Motherwell, Partick and Linfield. Now plying his trade as a regular unused sub at Hartlepool. Suspect he will be punted from there soon enough.

Did I imagine this wrong or was the first thing he did not to hit a free kick from 40+ yards that clipped the bar?

Also wiki has him down for 10 appearances for us. I always thought he played that game and one more and that was it.

Yeah, I recall him hitting the bar with a free kick with probably his first touch.

I recall him playing a handful of matches and offering next to nothing, so 10 wouldn’t be unlikely.

  5. Kazakhstan looks a no go, unless you go on some sort of club charter. Looking at over £1k for flights and that is a 3 stop/25hr+ effort. There are a few options of 2 stops and less time, but I would rather spend the £2.5k on something else…

Latvia/Macedonia are both reasonably accessible and gives us the best chance of progression.

Istanbul/Prague both straight forward travel wise, but would be almost certain defeat!

Plenty of time to come up with some travel options after the draw.

  6. There's a really class place called The Bird in Prenzlauer Berg that does a wonderful burger accompanied with many, many pints.

Best burger I’ve ever had. Heading over for New Year so planning a visit!
  7. I was regretting the decision to head to the game when I seen the team announced at 1:45pm. Tried to persuade my two mates to sack going and spend the day in the Aberdeen boozers instead. Delighted to be voted 2-1 in favour of going to the game.

Thought Aberdeen completely bossed the first half and were well on top. Felt only a matter of time before they created the right chance to take the lead. Maguire was lucky to stay on the pitch, but I thought Robertson was dreadful for the full match for both sides. Some strange calls and struggled to let the game flow.

We took both our goals well and the delivery from Goss for both was excellent. Defending from Aberdeen was shocking, with Bates at fault for the first and Brown for the second. KVV had acres of space for both goals. Aberdeen were chucking aimless balls into the box, which completely played into our hands and with the exception of the Kelly save, I don’t think there were many more decent chances. All in all, felt a reasonably comfortable end to the match.

I thought Lamie was brilliant when he came on. A few decent blocks/tackles and the obvious assist. He did have a tug at the Aberdeen forward off the ball for a pen and would have been claiming for it had it been at the other end.

Not seen it mentioned, but something doesn’t seem right with Carroll at the moment. Possibly in a bit of a huff due to his lack of playing time, but he went straight down the tunnel at FT with the rest of the players and staff over at the ‘Well fans. Could be reading too much into it.

Tremendous 3 points and badly needed!

  8. 2022 is looking a lot more likely to have a decent level of normality.

Cheltenham in March for the festival is booked. Be great to get back to it, as the Ebor a couple of weeks ago reminded me how it is to be back at the racing.

Booked up for Egypt, back to the Sensatori hotel that I visited in 2012 & 2013. Got a it at a really cheap price for June 2022.

Not booked yet, but hoping to get back to out New York Dec 2022. Will look at that seriously in Jan/Feb time and see how things are looking.

  9. I think absolutely any of Motherwell, St Mirren, Livingston, Dundee, Dundee United and Ross County can go down this season.

Very much between those 6. Very little between the sides so will come down to who can scrap the best come the business end. Alexander showed that he can get a poor team to do that last season (it was absolutely awful to watch).

We are really not very good. Our midfield is crying out for some creativity and none of our strikers look capable of a decent mid teens return. Any defence that has to rely on Mugabi/Lamie as a starter is also going to be in trouble.

Kelly could be the difference for us, but it’s going to be a long tough season!
  10. Normally, I'd be urging that we don't lose the plot at a pre-season LC game - but last night was genuinely woeful (even though it was good to be at a game again).
McGinley, who I always quite liked the look of on a laptop screen had one of the worst 90 minutes I've ever seen from a 'Well player - ditto Crawford.
Still, if what I overheard last night is true, our search for a centre half could be finnished.

I would take Sami Hyypia’s old dear over Lamie
  11. Hibs - Home
    St Johnstone - Away
    Livingston - Away
    Dundee - Home
    Rangers - Away

Where are the points coming from. Hibs, St Johnstone and Rangers will hammer us on current squad/form. Livi is another trip to a pitch that we rarely play particularly well on. Leaves that Dundee game being a huge game for Alexander or the knifes will be out.

Crawford (and Mugabi to a certain extend) being given new contract months ago was a joke. Doubt these guys would have been in demand and should have been keeping our own options open. Crawford is so far out his depth that it’s tough to think of many worse who have played double figures of matches for us. Lamie is another who is not good enough at this level.

Massive few weeks for Alexander as I think a sticky start to the league will see the fans turn on him. At best, we are looking at shitfesting our way through the season and doubt I’ve got it in my to sit through that pish every week.

  12. Heading up to do the majority of the route the week things open up at the end of April. We booked it last summer and had to tweak our plans a bit, so might be some pretty long days.

Staying in Wick, Tongue, Ullapool and then cutting off track to spend the night in Skye. Was expecting to do it over a week, but a few things have cropped up so need to shorten. Will probably feel a bit rushed, but I’m pretty happy to be up at sunrise and on my way for the day.

Some of the pics look incredible. Fair buzzing for it!

  13. Concertista done me out a really good win today. Done on the line. Still a good day but was close to an excellent day!

I don’t fancy anything overly strongly tomorrow. I’ll still have a punt since I’ve got the week off and will be on the Guinness.

    13:20 - Bravemansgame (4/1)
13:55 - Monkfish (2/5). Will be watching this race and not punting. If pushed on an alternative to the favourite then I would possibly go with Sporting John without Monkfish (3/1).
14:30 - Janika (33/1) EW. Seems a really big price for this. Won’t be going massive on it.
15:05 - Chacun Pour Soi easy favourite but too short at 4/5. Put The Kettle On gets a Mare’s allowance of 7lbs but a Mare has never won this race (but I do like that horse!).
    15:40 - Easyland strolls it
    16:15 - Us And Them EW 14/1
    16:50 - Three Stripe Life (15/2) EW.
