The St. Mirren FC 2023/24 thread

We'll surely make another f**k up before the seasons done. Never mind though, our 'CEO' will still demand top 4. -
A View From The Terrace.

Despite being a jambo he had a point. Livi is a hard place to go, he just underestimated how pish they are right now. Dont think there were many saints fans expecting a result. -

Agree, but then we've hardly been free flowing on grass either. -
He looks done, and yet I'm sure I just heard Billy dodds say he was 'still pacey'.

When you mentioned misery hunters, I thought you had ventured on to b&wa. -

Would agree with you about the forwards. We must create the least amount of chances in the league. Dennis had a decent scoring record down south, he won't have up here due to the way we play. Its laughable when our 'support' criticize the forwards. -
I certainly wouldn't be gloating after that fucking shambles of a second half.

I would much rather have seen what Connelly can do. Looked decent whenever he's had a chance. Unlike McAllister who has been very disappointing.

I would be surprised If st.mirren score here. It's the type of game, that if you are the home team and lose, you really fear the worst. Being a forward for St.mirren must be the hardest job in football. -
St Mirren v Hamilton (Sat 24th)
monthelie' replied to Ric's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
What I'm saying is something different needs done if they've gone through this process 3 times already Maybe st.mirren are following the protocols rigorously, and have more cases due to being in a 'hotspot'. Hamilton have also been badly affected due to the huge increase in Lanarkshire. Are the clubs who are showing zero or little cases very lucky, or more lax in their processes, as hinted by that tosser levein. -
I was at that game and scrimgour had a nightmare. Never left a game at half time, but once went to a junior game and me and my mate were well pissed off there were no pies left b4 kick off. We were more bemused when the manager made all his subs in the first 20 minutes of the game. On hearing our concerns an old guy quietly informed us 'this is the fucking second half'. Hung about for 5 mins then sloped off back to the pub. Probably wrong thread.

A 1-5 pumping at home by st.johnstone seemed one of the worst for me at the time. Fairly sure it was during Hays nightmare spell, and a David Elliot OG when he tried to pass it back to Les Fridge rings a bell. -

I read that too, but there must have been a point when he thought, 5 year deal, (hibs might get 2 out of him) double my wages, and said yes. Couldn't see the club forcing him. -

Standard response, club rejects offer, important player for the club, but player now wants to leave. We had to accept the offer. Anyone really surprised? -

Exactly. An honest hardworking player who seems to have turned into a world beater this week. You can add injury prone to that as well. Sounds like a good deal despite the meltdowns by some. -

Agree. The way we are playing just now it's not advisable to have a pop at board! -

Early season optimism seems a distant past. If you're feeling negative, best price I could find was 1/2 for Aberdeen. -

Would totally agree, I'm not saying he's not a good player, but he's missed a huge number of games in the last few seasons. Club have not exactly come out of this well, after their pish about rejecting bids, he's not for sale, etc. For a player in his last season, can't complain if we get a few bob in, and a defender out of it. -

Ex St.mirren player comes on as a sub tonight in champions league qualifier, turns the game, and will now be playing against the elite. I thought he looked ok for us, not champions league though. Anders Dreyer anyone? -
St Mirren vs Celtic, 16/09/2020
monthelie' replied to Coventry Saint's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Been a while since we had a player with pace. Pity we couldn't get him on the ball to run at that right back, because he looked rotten. Disappointing to lose goals from 2 crosses, thankfully Celtic only managed 3 corners. -

You do know that wee broony trying to control a pass on the halfway line still counts as possession? -

After the 4/5 on Hibs on Sat, if we lose by 2 tonight, I will have made my season ticket money back. Been stung a couple of times on the handicaps with Celtic though! My son says I'm a disgrace. -

Yes, would agree with that, it's noticeably improved this season. Even the presenter before the game seems to know what she's doing. (Can't remember her name, but there's certainly worse on sky) Am I the only one not overly impressed with McPherson this season ? For me he's looked a yard off the pace whenever he's been on. I'm a fan of his, but the clamour for him to be playing is purely down to Sheron being shite. For me McPherson has been slightly less shite, which is worrying if it's between those 2 for a CM position at the moment. -

I'm sure he was on the wing when he set up the winner at home to brechin, when we played rotten. Looked decent any time i saw him, although that day all he got was dogs abuse by some utter morons amongst the home support.
