    Eh ?

Direct "competition" tae an expensive friendly between overpaid fannyspangles ?

I went down 40 miles (maybe more, didn't check) in a freezing cauld breeze oan my motorbike and watched a decent game of competitive fitba between two teams of blokes who've probably already been working for eight hours.

    It was freezing.

Bear in mind here, I've no heartfelt "love" for either team, I just wanted to be at proper fitba.

Ask yourself...if Clydebank had a fixture scheduled for tonight (well, last night) would you have been at Holm Park or sitting at home watching the telly ?

When there is a fixture clash between club and country I always choose country [hence missing our game last Saturday since I was on the way back from Amsterdam.....

To be fair it is probably is an exceptional season in that regard with the fixtures drawn up and for certain teams being most or all home games postponed due to cup draws. Highlighted previously by other clubs and not looking for sympathy or blaming anyone, eg Beith had a home league game on 26/8 v Talbot and next home league game was 13/1, nearly 5 months later. That isn't a regular occurrence in normal seasons and it does put a hit to your finances. We had 6 home cup ties which definitely helped us but none were big crowds - Bonnyton, Arthurlie, Benburb, Broomhill, Rob Roy, Glasgow Utd.

What was the attendance at Beith v Clydebank FC?
