  1. Note quite true, the 12v battery may power the fan for the heating system but the main battery is used to generate the heat* (it may go via the 12V battery). The major difference between ICE vehicles and electric vehicles is that an electric vehicle produces no heat when it's not moving, and a combustion engine will always generate heat while it is running. * As usual it's not as simple as that, while an electric car is moving the heating system can draw heat from the components so there is some energy for 'free' here. The main problem with that article is that when we get to a point when the majority of cars are electric, the ranges will be at least as large as ICE vehicles so running out of battery in the snow will be comparable to running out of petrol.
  2. I think is at Polmont YOI, or the Borstal as it was called then. I'm sure I can spot the Grange Center behind Sammy.
  3. They are both complex, that's why the Scottish Government produced a white paper on what independance would mean. The leave campaign just wrote some made up shit on a bus.
  4. I don't think it's a scam, they should give you the receipt from the garage when they bought the petrol, at least they did with me.
  5. Anybody know what the deal is with multi-ball? We seemed to use it at home all season, but not against Livingston and not in the second half against Cowdenbeath. I did notice in the first half the standside linesman made the ball boy fetch the original ball for a corner rather than using the he was about to place at the corner flag, which seemed a pointless waste of time! Does the away team have to agree to use it, and did we forget to ask Cowdenbeath hence back to one ball in the second half? It makes a big difference when a full stand (and a side of the pitch) are empty.
  6. Just to stop the silly employment law nonsense that has detracted from the Cockwomble chat: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/YoungPeople/Workandcareers/Yourrightsandresponsibilitiesatwork/DG_066272 Under 18s are legally completely different to 'Adult' workers.
  7. Top work TM, wee K Boo will be proud of her Daddy!
  8. Madeleine can play herself, if tabloid reports of inept Portuguese police are true, the poor wee thing is probably sleeping it off in the spare wheel reservoir of the hire car!
  9. Currently read Slaughterhouse 5 for about the fifth time. Kurt Vonnegut Jr. just died. So it goes.
  10. Nick Cave - Lyre of Orpheus/Abattoir Blues Without question the best album of last year. Haven't listened to it for at least a week, might be on repeat for the rest of the day!
  11. Emmylou Harris - Boulder to Birmingham Tear in the eye
