  1. Lemon and Ginger tea with a dash of honey. And some Grappa.
  2. Was just having a read about it on dot net but surprise surprise the thread vanished. The gist seemed to be than the plan is to pour money in to the black hole.
  3. It's when he starts ripping out our nice shiny red plastic seats and burning them that the alarm bells will really start ringing
  4. That is the strangest thing of this whole scenario. If it's simply the case that we need £200K or so just to see out the season then why not just say so? I know it doesn't address any of the issues regarding the stadium, long term debts, loans and so on but if that's what it would take to play players, suppliers etc then at least we'd know what we are facing. Given the history of terrible communications from the board maybe all thoughts of Machiavellian plots are way off the mark - maybe the board really are just so stupid that they've not thought of just coming out and saying "we need £200K, lets all get together and work out how to raise the money". Instead we have this Chemical Ali pretense from the board and a suspicion that giving money to the Pars is more wasteful than just setting fire to it.
  5. http://www.dafc.co.u...2207955_2982688 Future season tickets for sale. £200 for next season if you buy now. Doesn't say if they'll chuck in a free Christmas tree or not.
  6. The Kilted Christmas Tree folk are so pleased with Sammy's role that they've appointed him branch manager.
  7. Hopefully it will spruce up our finances a bit - I can't help but pine for the days when we owned EEP and were not £10mil or so in debt.
  8. Sammy looks like he's contracted something pretty terminal.
  9. Eh? He's talking about Andy Barrowman's birthday.Sunbeds, botox and a boyband haircut all cost money you know.
  10. The thought of the vitriol he and his familiy would face could be a sign that there's a lot of posturing and brinkmanship and emotional blackmail going on. The stony silence from the top of East End Park on the subject of 'what if things went tits up' leaves that threat hanging in the air. Scare the fans into pouring money into the club seems to be the current plan. I'm not being a happy clapper but there's nothing like spreading fear and panic to kick people into action.
  11. Have a word with Gavin Masteron. His new board members have made their fortunes by bulldozing stuff and clearing away the rubble.
  12. I'd love to get a PM but I have a feeling that I can guess how a story ends when it starts with a club £11 million in debt, saddled to an umbrella organisation £35 million in debt, who have not paid their players, not paid their taxes, have no assets and a board who have stated they need to slash £400k p/a off the outgoings. So, the only question remains, once David Beckham has bought us out and becomes a player-coach, will JJ start him ahead or Cardle or will Cardle have to go back to being a super sub?
  13. Top of the league, new directors - sorted! You've cheered me up!
  14. Tax bill? What bill? Wages? What wages? Talk about fiddling whilst Rome burns.
  15. I was just pleased to read we're still going to be in existence for Yorkie to resign at the end of 2013 season.
  16. Meanwhile, in a far away reality known as the DAFC boardroom: DAFC – Restructuring of the Board of Directors DAFC is delighted to announce that Bob Purvis, Chairman of the Purvis Group, Jim Thomson, Managing Director of Purvis Group, Bob Garmory Chairman of Carnegie College will be joining the board. The new board will focus on the restructuring of the Club's activities into two distinct groups. 1. Football operations – managed by Black and White Limited 2. All non-football operations – managed by East End Events Ltd Both companies are 100% subsidiaries of DAFC Ltd and overseen by the main DAFC board which has complete budgetary control. Black and White, chaired by Craig McWhirter, will concentrate on developing a strong youth led football strategy. Black and White will focus initially on the U17's with phase 2 bringing the Community under their wing and ultimately all youth and senior football operations will fall under their remit. Meanwhile, East End Events Ltd, headed by Karen Masterton and Tracey Martin, will be responsible for delivering a meaningful and increasing profitable contribution to the Club, mainly through its events activities. Further changes to the DAFC board include Rodney Shearer who has been appointed Deputy Chairman of DAFC and will assume the role of Chairman from 1st June 2013 replacing John Yorkston who will take up the role of Honorary President. John will also serve as Chairman of the Club's charitable entity, The Pars Trust. Jim Leishman has been appointed as an Honorary Director of the Club and will continue to apply his vast footballing experience to the benefit of the Club. Jim's main focus will be fund-raising, growing DAFC's main corporate events through all Jim's contacts, and acting as a key liaison point for DAFC supporters groups. Karen Masterton and Tracey Martin will step down from the Board of DAFC on the 1st December 2012 enabling them to focus 100% of their effort on building a successful East End Events Ltd. Commenting on the changes, Gavin Masterton said: "All new Board members are highly successful professionals who are willingly giving their time and energy to take the DAFC overall team forward in the future on a sound and secure basis. "We would like to pay tribute to John Yorkston under whose stewardship over the last 13 years has taken the Club to Hampden on many occasions for Semi-final and Cup Final events. We are delighted he will continue to play such an important role in DAFC going forward." Bob Purvis added: "Purvis Group believe that DAFC has a bright future and we are looking forward to being a part of the Club as it strives to return to the SPL. We are confident that we can add a new dimension to the business and look forward to joining the current directors in making all the facets of the Club successful."
  17. Given how annoyed the Old Firm were at having to play on our magic carpet, the plastic pitch experiment will always be a success in my mind.
  18. His goal against Hearts when we came back to win 3-1 has to be one of the finest Pars goals of all time. .......... Stephen 'Steve' Jordan in The Sun. Confirms the Pars are "a good bunch of lads". Incisive stuff. http://www.thescotti...rd-madness.html
  19. Back at Bristol City as professional development coach - overseeing the transition of players from the academy to the first team. I'll let you good Falkirk people decide whether that's a step up or down from managing the Pars.
  20. I don't think Jim McIntyre is up to much - get Elvis out and Macca in.
  21. Best of luck to County in the SPL. Second place is there for the taking.
  22. Kyle doesn't seem to have ruled us out and says he has an offer on the table from JJ - he'd just rather play in the SPL if offered the right deal and St Johnstone don't think he is too fat.
