  1. I've heard the San Siro has been going downhill recently but I wasn't expecting it to be that bad.
  2. This must be about Christian Doidge's fourth season in Scotland of being an absolutely useless, but relatively highly paid, cart-horse. Why? Why is he here going again? Does anyone think he's a top level player? Fucking cleanse the Scottish game of these total diddies. Doidge and about 200 others.
  3. If you look at Scottish Premiership teams performances against the OF, lower league Scottish sides in cup competitions and non OF teams results in European matches the only conclusion you can possibly come to is that the standard of the Scottish Premiership outside the top two is absolute garbage. Lower league clubs have probably already beaten Premiership teams more often in the league cup groups matches than Premiership teams will win against Rangers and Celtic all season. When is someone going to do something? It's pathetic.
  4. 1. Taxi Driver 2. Raging Bull 3. Goodfellas 4. King of Comedy 5. Mean Streets
  5. Also there are 11 colours changes across the band. It's way too much. Should have been simpler.
  6. G37. If first and second choice colours are not sufficiently different and distinct, the offending club must play in undies and gutties.
  7. Looks like the last thing you'd see in an imploding submarine.
  8. Won't be making any predictions outside the top 2 until we get closer to the start of the season however.... .....I have a wee sneaky feeling Rangers could win the league this season. 1. That new Celtic kit is giving off major bad vibes. 2. The whole, "never go back" Brendan thing. Won't take much for the Celtic fans ("Best fans in the world") to turn on the team, especially if there are poor early Euro results. 3. Rangers got rid of deadwood that was holding them back and seem to have signed decent standard players. Celtic have lost a key player and are taking punts in the transfer market. 4. Celtic's defence is still howlin' bad and Johnson is going to miss the start of the season. 5. Any time I saw Rangers and Celtic last season, Rangers looked the better team to me. Although that might be a Motherwell issue.
  9. It's not uncommon these days to see referees wearing the same colours as one of the goalkeepers.
  10. Not to keen on the white trim on the shorts but otherwise a very nice kit.
  11. I won't say exactly what my job is but I see about 250 applications a day. Some recent good ones that I remember are Amelia Loudhead, Howard Bolton-Cox, Luke Dowan, Willie Wooden, Sacha Suchit, Dela Banahehe, Pierce McWeeny and Jobie Webb.
  12. Please lose the first Old Firm game, please lose the first Old Firm game.....
  13. In the 2022/23 season 4 Scottish players, 21 or under, managed 10 starts in the Scottish Premier League. In the 2022/23 season 12 English players, 21 or under, managed 10 starts in the Scottish Premier League. In the 2022/23 season 5 players of other nationalities, 21 or under, managed 10 starts in the Scottish Premier League. Overall 156 Scottish players made an appearance for a Scottish Premiership Club (all competitions) in season 2022/23. Overall 231 foreign players made an appearance for a Scottish Premiership Club in season 2022/23. Rather amazingly, if only Scottish goal scorers were counted, Rangers would have finished bottom of the league with 0 wins.
  14. Lukaku had the entire goal in front of him and he heads it straight at the keeper. Shocker.
  15. Phil Foden looks like he'll dead soon in a mysterious e-bike/police car accident.
  16. Hardly read anything for a couple of years because I was listening to the top 500 7 inch singles from each year from 1950 to 2019. It takes quite a long time to listen to 35,000 singles. Anyway, having done that I've started reading again and have got 5 under my belt so far this year. 'Narcissus and Goldmund' by Herman Hesse When I originally read this I considered it one of the best novels I'd ever read and re-reading years later hasn't altered my opinion. Except that Goldmund's ageing process hits home even more now. 'Fighter - The True Story of the Battle of Britain' by Len Deighton A reasonably good history of the BoB which suggests the true heroes of the battle were the inventors and operators of Britain's radar installations. It won't blow you away but it's an easy read and gives some insight on the politics and internal backstabbing within both the RAF and Luftwaffe. By this account they were each more interested in fighting their own side... 'The Man In The High Castle' by Phillip K. Dick What can I say? I thought this was pretty awful. Style and structure were boring and misconceived respectively and the ending is hack Twilight Zone episode guff that's almost an insult to the reader. Honestly, comparing this to someone like Herman Hesse is like holding up a child's crayon drawing against a Rembrandt. 'The Quiet American' by Graham Greene Yeah! A real writer again. This falls just short of my five out of five favourite novels but this was proper literature and I very much enjoyed it. I'll probably read this again at some point. Story - a jaded English journalist meets a preppy, naive American who's innocent ideologies suddenly intersect with reality in French governed Vietnam. 'The Trouble With Happiness' by Tove Ditlevsen Despite never really engaging with any of the Scandinavian authors I've read before I've been circling Tove Ditlevsen for a while although I don't think I was actually aware this was a collection of short stories when I bought it. As with all collections of short stories some are better than others although most revolve around the same kind of themes, fair to say she wasn't a fan of marriage on this evidence. Almost all of these stories are based on the anxiety, hopelessness and quiet desperation of failing personal relationships. Husbands, wives, children, family. Her style is plain but effective and there is some sharp psychological insight but let's face it, longer works are always more satisfying than short stories of similar quality. Will still probably read the Copenhagen Trilogy at some point.
  17. Yes, I have experience of these Rannoch area map paths that are 'hardly there at all'. Hence me asking about this one. I don't mind rough stuff but I like to know what I'm getting into and maybe this is one for less hot weather. Think I might walk this one later as a circuit from Bridge of Orchy rather than going all the way to Kinlochleven.
  18. Don't suppose any one knows the condition of the highlighted old military road over Black Mount. Was thinking about walking it and avoiding the crowds on the WHW. It looks quite indistinct from the satellite maps and I don't want a to walk through a boggy hell.
  19. I've got a feeling we can forget about an early night.
  20. I think this is the first time I've seen Dybala do anything in a game.
