  1. My Dad was down at Palmerston for the schoolboys international the week before or thereabouts I was due and mentioned to Dave Ray that he hoped that I didn't go into labour until after the game! He then kindly gave dad the aforementioned gift to be passed on when baby did arrive. Which was very kind of him. And so long as it isn't the Old Firm my kids can support anyone they like! Niamh weight dropped on Wednesday and my supply of milk did too, despite feeding marathons lots of tears later she's now on the bottle. Exactly the same happened at the same time with Ruairidh but I persisted longer with him. Just awaiting the midwife to weigh her again, she was static at 6lb 8 (7lb 11 at birth) on Friday so hoping shes gained a bit now. Been a hard and heartbreaking week.
  2. SD: My daughter recieved a Dougie the Doonhammer teddy and Queens penant yesterday!
  3. Ruairidh hasn't really used a buggy since the snow but we have the tandem out now and he happily goes in it and chats away to Niamh! My birthday
  4. The Doctors told my I'd be early again this time and I wasn't! Niamh is doing well, feeding endlessly at the moment and was back upto 7lb yesterday. Midwife is happy with her. We're getting there with feeding and it's not as sore now! Ruairidh continues to be good with her so that's a bonus.
  5. Yet I've still spent this week going 'shit have I really done this before?!'
  6. 4.5 hours in my house and I didn't speak to him once.....don't worry Debs I'll be more sociable to you tomorrow!
  7. I had a lovely nap this morning! She's not sleeping between her 11.30pm and 2.30am feeds. She's had her first P&B visitor this morning!
  8. My Dad's one and only suggestion was Sophie, but it was the top name last year with 720 or so born in Scotland! Cheers, how's your wee one doing? Good luck, hope it's a fairly quick labour your your other half. Bit sorer this morning but the wee one is going about three hours between feeds and when she's latched on is feeding well. Think we had 12 dirty bums in 24 hours so hopefully that's all the merconium away-so lady like! Husband taken my oldest to softplay to let him burn off some energy, he's been well behaved so far but has had an array of dotting grandparents over the weekend which I think has helped! Waiting on the midwife to visit.
  9. I like Mhairi but his sister is Mhairianne (pronounce marianne thought) so couldn't use it either. She's not the nicest. I love the name, just couldn't use it, I have a foster sister who we don't see any more and she had (now adopted) child called Eilidh. We came up with Niamh just last week but until she was born I wasn't sure about it. She was to be Sarah Elizabeth but we hit a snag with that, too long a story for on here!
  10. I thought one of you may have confirmed baby was here! I am impressed
  11. I am the lady! I liked Eilidh but as my oldest is Ruairidh which is Gaelic for Roderick which is my Dad's name and Eilidh being gaelic for Helen which is my mums name we felt that we didn't want mini versions of both my parents With an Alasdair, Ruairidh and now a Niamh (pronounce Neeve) we get interesting spellings too! It is a bit of a long name, long story behind it!
  12. Was induced yesterday morning, won't give you the labour details! Niamh Sarah Elizabeth Shaw arrived at 3.42pm weighing 7lb 11oz (so much for my small baby!) We're home and well.
  13. The mere thought sends shivers down my back!
  14. Many congratulations..............and OUCH! Well after 12 hours in the ward on hold............they decided that they weren't doing it today as they were to busy but I'm assured that I will be taken tomorrow. Can home as no point taking up a bed!
  15. I'd love too but not sure getting plastered 7 hours before being induced into labour is a good idea.......then again might dull the pain!
  16. I was already 3cm dilated and favorable on Monday so it'll be waters broken, left a couple hours or so to see if that starts it and then onto the drip so should be fairly quick or so my GP just told me.
  17. That's certainly what the sweep I had on Monday felt like
  18. Still lodged firmly in my pelvis! Forced eviction tomorrow though!
