  1. After a few weeks of lazily not shaving, I want to look a bit more respectable tomorrow, so I was going to shave. Unfortunately, I gave myself a touch of sunburn today. If I shave, I'm probably going to have massive white patches on my face and look sort of like an inverted ninja. So its scruff, or inverted ninja. :(

  2. Being a PhD student is indeed awful. My day so far has consisted of writing a computer program by putting together bits of my existing code, then leaving it to run. I followed that up by watching some cricket on the TV and playing Football Manager before going out a run. I'm just about to make my lunch and then I think I'll go and walk into the city and enjoy the sunshine. It's OK though - I'm still "working" because my computer programme is still running and testing out a possible new modelling approach. And I'm being paid to do this. Brutal stuff.

Just you wait. I once had a supervisor meeting on christmas day as it was about the only time we were both in the country and available.

  3. They may have a connecting flight or train. When I'm in a hurry to disembark it's not because I'm eager for an extra five minutes stood around the luggage conveyor but because I need to be somewhere.

This. It used to irritate me a lot, but then I started having to take complex flights to obscure destinations, going via airports the size of a small town.

  4. I was never the biggest fan of the current Doctor, but he's pretty decent, without being amazing. I'm disappointed he's leaving so soon, what was the point in casting a young guy if he was hardly going to stick around?

  5. However, most Who fans whose stuff I've read on the internet have confidently been claiming that Clara/Oswin definitely is River Song for just under a year now so there's hope yet.

Indeed, remember the obsessives with their missing ducks, theories about how the Doctor avoids dying, and picking up on millions upon millions of red herrings? To be a Dr Who fan is to read too much into everything.
  6. You're kidding right???

I agree with your point but am amazed you don't recognise Richard E. Grant!!!

I thought you had been a student, like forever!!!

I don't really watch tv or films all that much tbh. He is excellent though!

  7. My god, that was amazing! This last series has been really amazing, I think I've enjoyed it more than any Dr Who before. Also, John Hurt is an amazing actor, Clara is amazingly beautiful, the writing has improved massively in the last series, and the only weakness (IMO) is Matt Smith, but even he isn't too bad.

In short, its almost all amazing.

  8. Do you not hold your cock while you have a piss? Or do you have to sit down while you pee? Also your cock has been inside your warm pants and trousers all day!

    Argh! Warmth!

Not washing your hands is pretty vile. I've seen a lot of people do it at work, and it's just disgusting.

That said, you have a point. Our desks and hands are little germ factories. We have all sorts of bacteria living on us. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

A guy i work with doesn't touch the buttons on the coffee machine. He uses a pen instead. What a moron.

Exactly. To be honest, the main reason I wash my hands is because during the day I'll be using my keyboard, eating food etc. You wouldn't insist that someone wash their hands after using a keyboard? Well by the standards of this thread, everyone should.

Someone pointed out that blow driers are full of bacteria, germs etc. Well so are keyboards. So are wallets. So are banknotes, so is the air. To be honest, even if you did somehow actually piss on your hands, it would probably make your hands cleaner. In fact, keyboards are probably the worst thing out there.

Oh, and we've already had the hoary old line "wouldn't touch the bowls of nuts on the bar", which, as pointed out, basically never happens in this country. Oh, and to the guy who said he wants to eat crisps, so washes his hands, do you wash your hands before eating crisps if you're in the office? Gotta get that keyboard disease off them before you catch aids from yourself!

  9. That explains why you're incapable of reading my posts. :P

Much like on here, I spent much of my time in Higher English outside the class, setting off rape alarms, mocking the teacher, causing trouble, and generally causing trouble.

And much like on here, I was too box office and too good to get actually slung out! :D

  10. Quite enjoyed that one, although the children annoyed me. Never a huge fan when there's too many companions.

Not entirely sure I like the red dwarf like sets and special effects that have suddenly shown up this series. All looks a bit naff.

Wait, what? I...agree...with you about an episode of Dr. Who. I think the universe may have just imploded.
  11. In a busy pub toilet and after my pish I wash my hands as you do.

By the time I use the blow drier I notice a lot of guys have just walked rather than washed.

Upon leaving the bog I realise I touched the same door handle as them to exit and was wondering why I bothered washing.

Men in pubs are manky b*****ds.

I also noticed the amount of guys who high 5 or shake hands wi their mates upon arrival.

Bet the guys wouldn't go near them if they seen what I did.

Just what horrible diseases are you scared of? Also, do you normally pish on your hands?

Finally, you are aware of the germs that are on our hands pretty much ALL the time right? Man up.

  12. Significantly disappointed tonight. Not sure whether it's because I'd built it up to be bigger than it was, or whether it was genuinely disappointing.

Seemed like such a "cop out" ending.

    Naysayer. Clever, amazing, wonderful! :D

I did really like the reference to the Turk at the start of the episode, as well as actually making the cybermen seem like proper baddies, rather than clunking comic relief.
