I was looking forward to having two Killie players playing against us but they're both out injured.

Taking away the host location, I think it's the right idea to have this every year rather than every single year, since a lot of players would have been missing out on the chance to play in it purely based on being unlucky to be born in the odd year. A lot of the comments I've seen online seem to be folk getting really worked up about an event they probably didn't even know existed before. It hasn't been hosted in Europe in over 20 years anyway, and has only been here once in the last 30. In terms of the timing, this has usually taken place in autumn or winter in previous years, and that would make sense given that they'll need to host annual qualifying now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gordon thinks he can keep on playing. He's signed a new contract at Hearts so he's going to be active in the SPFL until at least 2025 already.

Harvey Barnes has an England cap and he still hasn't been "put to bed" as an option.

We have performance schools where I'd assume our best youngsters are getting the majority of these things (hopefully without the wanky business speak language around it).

That's good that the screenshot does suggest the ability to transfer tickets.

The most recent friendly against England was on, and I think the Ukraine Nations League game recently may have been too. I'm also pretty sure the Mexico and Peru games in 2018 were on the BBC.

Strongest 11/McGregor/Ferguson conundrum

I didn't actually ask for an example, but thanks. -
There is absolutely no point in pissing off a regular squad member by dropping them for the final double header before the tournament. It's easier to keep them all involved and then only make a decision about which three to take if he actually has to. Any one of them could be unavailable come June anyway making the whole discussion moot. If one of the three forwards in the current squad got injured I'm not even 100% sure he'd definitely call up another (assuming Brown isn't back fit), because he'd have Christie in mind as being another option in an attacking role.

Strongest 11/McGregor/Ferguson conundrum

The "Austrian second division team" being the reserve team of Red Bull Salzburg, the club known for signing the best young talents in world football, yes? Scotland threw Billy Gilmour into the last Euros as a teenager. -
Strongest 11/McGregor/Ferguson conundrum

What about Wales? As soon as their generational talent and other very good player packed it in they have dropped like a stone. The fact they have a bunch of Championship players with 40 caps by the age of 24 doesn't seem to be helping them actually win many games. -

Bigger nations can do that because they'll qualify anyway. We have still done it with several of the players in the current squad which is why Billy Gilmour will probably reach 25 caps in this double header before he turns 23. Patterson will probably do that before his 23rd birthday too. -
Strongest 11/McGregor/Ferguson conundrum

Doak has potential and nothing else at the moment. I think he'll come very good, but his performances for Liverpool in the Europa League were not those of a player actually ready to be playing at that level. -
Strongest 11/McGregor/Ferguson conundrum

This post reeks of FIFA style selection where Ferguson has a higher number than McGregor so you just pick him in the team. Either that or just basing it on the clubs and level people play at rather than their ability. Let's face it, McGregor could comfortably be playing for a very good Serie A team if he wanted to right now, but the fact he isn't will always count against him in some people's eyes. -
No chance I'd be dropping Findlay at this point, he had a poor game along with everyone at the weekend but he has been in good form since the turn of the year. I don't understand the clamour for Mackay-Steven, he's been brought in as an impact sub for 20 minutes here and there. He doesn't have the legs to play as a starting winger in this team. I severely doubt that a guy who was on the scrapheap after being binned by Hearts and barely playing a game in years is expensive in any way. If we want to go back to having two out-and-out wingers and Kennedy's not fit then it has to be Murray, even if he is obviously a bit of a downgrade in quality.

You would hope the system would have a way to officially transfer the tickets to someone and forfeit your SSC point, but I feel like they'll f**k that up and just have either empty seats or needing folk to lend login details etc.

Strongest 11/McGregor/Ferguson conundrum
craigkillie replied to The SandDancer's topic in Tartan Army Ramblings
The midfield has been working as well as it ever has in this campaign with McTominay and McGinn playing off the striker, supported by the two wing-backs. Ferguson is just unfortunate in that those two guys in his position are consistently doing the business for us and therefore he can't get in. There might be a chance that he gets a shout in a game where we need even more energy - for example in that Spain game at Hampden we had Christie in the team as well as McTominay and McGinn. However, Gilmour has been back in brilliant form at club level and his use of the ball means we probably need him in the team, and McGregor is the natural partner in there given that he has the intelligence and clever use of the ball that the others lack. It's not a reflection on Ferguson at all that he's not getting a game for us, it's just that those other guys are perfect for how we play at the moment. It can change quickly, but I don't think it will have changed by the summer barring an injury. -

Yes, famously Rangers and Celtic fans don't attend games at Rugby Park. -

Will wait and see what this means, but yet another club restricting away supports to a tiny section the way Hearts have done would be disappointing. There needs to be a crackdown on certain behaviour, but I do think there needs to be an acceptance that a lot of the matchday atmosphere at football relies on having two sets of supporters there. If it's just about bringing Rangers or Celtic down to the same as the rest of us that's fine, but I'd be worried about the direction of travel here. -

He might not be as attractive to them the next time it comes around, that's got to be in his mind. -
I don't think you can overturn the onfield decision there, it's probably a penalty but it's not a clear and obvious error for me. There's definitely enough doubt about it.

Nunez gets the touch a split second before him, he's already started swinging by then.
-
Why on earth is Neville remotely blaming the keeper there?

He wasn't offside for a start.
