  1. On the other side of the scale you get the likes of Paul Heaton. Well, you get Paul Heaton. Shares out all the income equally to all band members, leaves money behind bars for fans to have a drink on him and keeps ticket prices at sensible levels.
  2. Before we all make RS's of ourselves?
  3. Struggling to understand the "fair and proportionate" aspects of this sentence.
  4. My son, d-i-l and grandson moved to Ontario 6 months ago and we're going out to see them in a few weeks. Their accents have been fine on calls but I'm looking forward to seeing how they sound when they interact with their new neighbours.
  5. I read it but don't have a clue what it said. Business/corporate speak nonsense thread for this post, I think. Oh, wait...
  6. Doesn't matter the season, that's never light-hearted...
  7. That took me much, much longer than it should have. And it was eye roll when it dawned on me...
  8. Craig Brown did a 'meet the workforce' 20-odd years ago. When he met me he looked at my (very dark) green shirt and said 'I can tell which team you support.' 'You can tell I'm a St Mirren supporter just by looking at me? That's impressive...' was my reply. Conversation stopped right there...
  9. Posted a parcel to my son in Canada two weeks ago today. According to the tracker it's still in the post office I sent it from...
  10. My d-i-l caught it in June 2020, taste still not back. And she's had it another twice since then. I got it at the beginning of October for the first time, tbh it wasn't as bad as some colds I've had before now. Rough nose/throat and really tired for a couple of days but that was it.
  11. Don't remember saying it was in my post, did you misread it?
  12. Some people get stressed because they WFH and don't want to, some because they aren't WFH and they do want to - is that so hard to understand? So long as your employer is happy for you to do whichever suits you (and them) what's the issue?
  13. Welsh version of Scotsmac, the bam's dram? https://www.goodfoodrevolution.com/scotsmac-aka-bams-dram/
  14. I started drinking in the mid 70s, VP & Lanliq were gone by then round our way, El D was the drink of choice. Mind you, if you were posh or pretentious you went for Croft Original for alcohol fuelled escapades...
  15. If you're basing that on the 70s it would be Eldorado, not Thunderbird. Don't think Thunderbird had been invented in Scotland in the 70s (apart from the Gerry Anderson version, of course) but spot on apart from that.
  16. Cheers, bud, we're booked with Lufthansa straight through to the destination with a 4 hour transit on the way out so that sounds like it should be okay. Way back might a bit more problematic, only an hour and half, but that will be down to them if there are any probs - I'll post again if there are!
  17. I've been with Lebara for over a year now, no issues whatsoever and still getting free roaming plus 100 minutes/month of international calls. Had a settings problem with the roaming in Krakow back in June but it was successfully resolved in jig time when I rang.
  18. Wish I'd read this before we booked flights via Frankfurt next summer... We don't have to change terminals, does that make a difference or is it just generally shite no matter what?
  19. Beat me to it, was going to post exactly the same thoughts.
  20. None of which affect egg supplies/Christmas dinners ergo not headline news...
