  2. Gordon Thornton Sports was "the" Sports Shop in Edinburgh over many decades. I remember it being at 72 Hanover Street, between George Street and Queen Street. Probably closed in the early / mid 1980s. They donated the Shield to the Juniors. Picture of the shop here: http://canmore.org.uk/collection/466259
  3. Surely if they cannot use the name 'The Rangers' then Sevco's application to join the SPL using that name must be invalid.
  4. They could get a sponsorship from an Indian restaurant and call themselves the Taj Gers
  5. North Fife played at the Waterstone Crook in Newport-on-Tay. I remember going there to see a game between Dundee United and East Fife to open the ground when North Fife were elected to the Juniors, in 1977.
  6. Balbeggie's ground was Redfield Park, not Renfield Park. A unique venue in the middle of nowhere. A bit like Tarff Rovers of the South Seniors. Elmwood still play in the Tayside Amateurs. Jubilee Athletic became Rosyth Juniors. Comrie Colliery folded in the late 80s before Steelend Vics re-emerged in 1995 to use their old ground. Also saw Stobswell on numerous occasions - their ground is still used for Amateur football. Another team I saw on occasions was Grangemouth Rovers who folded around 1980 - no connection with the earlier Grangemouth United. They played at the Grangemouth Sports Stadium.
