  1. When’s the last time that Baccus & Strain had any sort of run together as first choices in the St Mirren starting line up? Don’t get me wrong, I like both, but as weeks turn to months, turn to an entire season, they are in, out, in, out (shake it all about). There’s always talk about one, or both of them being on other clubs’ radar. There’s a wee part of me now that actually thinks, if that’s true, then get deals done and we move on.
  2. Lovely story, they sound like a nice family, I don’t see the problem, etc… This bit stood out…. Sellik Tap, surely. The heat from the blaze was so intense it melted the Celtic top he was wearing.
  3. Hen Broon - wasn’t he an ex-Netherlands midfielder and assistant boss at PSV Eindhoven? Pretty sure he was. Good appointment IMHO.
  4. Could be worse. The flowers could be (and usually are) accompanied by a tatty Old Firm jersey tied to a fence.
  5. On the subject of adverts, is it just me, or are the adverts now on TV for men’s incontinence pants a new thing? I don’t remember seeing adverts for anything other than ‘Tena Lady’ pants until now. Again, maybe just me, but every time I come across the advert for ‘Tena Bloke’ pants, only one thing comes into my mind - the audience with Billy Connolly routine. By the way, anyone know if ‘Tena Bloke’ pants are good? I’m still having flashbacks to 5-2 at Rugby Park. Might need to invest in a pack of those bad boys.
  6. Have seen St Mirren win the Scottish Cup in 1987 and the League Cup in 2013.
  7. Only three or so more hours to go before any further mention of that game results in a three month forum ban.
  8. Kind of reminded me of one of those days that can happen when any other Scottish top flight side are playing an Old Firm team. Start well, make chances, but miss them, still holding their own though. Fans think ‘maybe it’s our day today’…Then they get the first goal. Then, it ends up in a bit of a gubbing, and you go away thinking ‘if only this, and if only that’. That’s exactly how it felt to me. Missed chances when on top, end up getting pumped. Feels very familiar.
  9. Not the most important thing obviously, but it already annoys the shite out of me that the three Adidas stripes on our new shirt are white, while all the other trim elements (and there are a lot of them), are yellow. Grrrr, etc.
  10. Should be The Rangers 2024/25 shirt. The collar starts at 1873 and goes to 2012.
  11. Did a good job, just don’t let him fcuk with your Macron strips.
  12. Ibrox would surely have been in with a shout if it hadn’t been for… ach, well.
  13. One of the things I like about them is they still record and release new material. There’s some really strong stuff on their latter ‘new’ era albums.
  14. The loudest gig I’ve ever been at, bar none, was Jimmy Barnes in King Tuts. In Australia then, he was playing arenas and stadium gigs. I think he squeezed the PA from an arena into King Tuts.
  15. Going to a gig and you don’t end up beside kunts who don’t even listen to the band, they just shout at each other throughout. Even during the quieter bits. Why did they pay £££ to just ignore the band and yakk pish at each other? Just go to a boozer, cuntos.
  16. I think Glasgow is blessed with some excellent concert venues, including the Barras’. The Hydro is superb for the bigger shows, and even for those that don’t fully sell out, they have a clever ‘black tarpaulin’ scheme for the unsold seats (usually the top deck up in the Gods). I’ve been to the Barras’ shitloads of times, maybe just me, but I get a drink or two when the support is on, or before the headliner anyway, but during the headline band, I’ve found my spot somewhere and don’t bother with the bar, I’m there to see the band. I’m not having a go at you, or anyone else by the way. The Barras’ has been the scene of the two gigs I’ve been to where I was literally soaked through from head to toe, and the only drink I wanted was water, both a long time ago now - R.E.M. on their ‘Green’ tour, and Midnight Oil, where I was right on the front barrier right at the stage. That was some show. There’s also the Royal Concert Hall and Armadillo for medium sized, mostly ‘sitty-doon’ types of artists, the 02 Academy is another great venue like the Barras, and there’s great ‘wee’ venues like St Luke’s, Oran Mor, King Tuts. Shame the ABC venues on Sauchiehall Street went up in flames, and of course, the Apollo many moons ago. Big gigs in that shithole that was the SECC? Thank fcuk they built the Hydro. The only thing that tin shed had going for it was that it was maginally less shite for gigs than the old Ingliston Showgrounds aircraft hangar. Now that really was dreadful. Anyway, opinions and all that.
  17. Stadium looks great, but I must admit, my eyes are drawn to the German beer and hot dogs on display in the left of your photo. That’ll do me!
  18. Just came across the band Swim School from Edinburgh. Hadn’t heard them until I happened to be on Amazon Music, listening to some Wolf Alice, and their name came up. Bloody hell, they’re excellent. Immediately bought a ticket for their Glasgow St Luke’s show on May 1. Inc’ all the extra fees, total was £15.12. This band are going places, they’ve got something going alright. Best new band I’ve heard since, well, since Wolf Alice.
  19. Oh what a feelin’ to be Dandies with the Thelin. This time, I really will grab my jaiket’ as I exit the internet.
  20. Correct. First time I’ve ever ventured past Dingwall, only ever been to Dingwall once, for the fitba’. Lovely part of the country, if somewhat freezing cold.
  21. Maybees aye, but in reality, very much naw.
  22. Was here last week. It’s in Scotland.
