  1. The colour purple was invented in 1923 as part of a Quality Street marketing campaign aimed at popularising the previously underappreciated 'grey one'.
  2. It was seen as commonplace for humans to sleep upside down like bats until the invention of the bed in 1894.
  3. I was going to moan about the lack of facts (mhakts, hue) but now I'm not going to as Hoopy has saved this thread. I can't believe I tried to troll him in the past. The mhak redemption.
  4. I for one hadn't noticed this thing with my name. Is it a new development?
  5. Did it come up as mhak? That's weird.
  6. Another word for these would be 'lies'. Milton Keynes is a city state. Jimmy Calderwood is Cambodia's fourth favourite celebrity. To date, nine Jimmy Calderwood lookalike contests have taken place in that country. Jimmy Calderwood has won four of them. The colour yellow was discovered in 1942 during Allied weapon testing.
  7. Definitely agree with the last two posts. Granted most people who go away manage to avoid flying out to Peru to be drug mules, but you definitely do lose perspective at that age and in that environment. The Irish one is a 7.5/ 10, maybe 8.5 on a good day. A sad loss.
  8. Did anyone else read that article with the girl who used to live with her and think 'what the f**k were you doing in Ibiza?'?
  9. Thanks for that. Wasn't doubting you'd seen it somewhere, just wanted to see it for myself. I don't necessarily think it proves that they particularly wanted to be drug mules, although I'm also not saying they didn't. I see two possible scenarios: They got involved with the wrong crowd in Ibiza and were persuaded to do this with the promise of a big pay-off (so basically out of greed). They got involved with the wrong crowd in Ibiza, got in above their heads and did this to pay off a debt or something along those lines. By the time they realised they were in above their heads it was too late to back out, and the whole laughing and joking thing was them putting a brave face on it. FWIW I reckon it's probably somewhere in between, but it doesn't really change anything as they'd struggle to defend themselves on the basis of their having been coerced even if it had really happened exactly the way they describe it. It's not really something that'd be easy to prove unless they could get the gangsters to come forward and admit to it. Either way I feel a bit sorry for them as they're basically daft wee lassies who've made a series of bad judgements and are about to get pretty severely punished for them. That's not to say that I think they should be dealt with leniently on that basis - the law's the law and being a daft wee lassie isn't going to cut it as a defence - but I think that it's possible to think that they should be dealt with as is standard whilst still feeling a bit sorry for them.
  10. Must have missed the bit where it mentioned the girls forcing millions of people to take drugs. But if it's true then they're just scum, sub-human scum. He might have been talking about the people who are forced to refine it and whose communities are torn apart by drugs and that? Also mothers, fathers, siblings, sons, daughters and friends who watch their loved ones dissented rate into a life if being a complete and utter w****r? All the fault of two daft wee lassies, imo. All of it.
  11. People who write in to the Sun shouldn't be entitled to opinions.
  12. Both of those words would still be applicable even if they were completely guilty of all charges.
  13. They're a couple of daft wee lassies who've done something very stupid. Bit shit, but doesn't make them exempt from the law. Those with problems with the Peruvian legal system should be campaigning against that, not suddenly deciding it's a disgrace when it affects white Europeans. There are some pretty creepy posts in this thread about what's likely to happen to them in there. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Pie & Bovril mobile app
  14. Spot on mate. This thread has been great, but it's done now.
  15. I think that what AberdeenBud maybe doesn't realise is that we've all migrated to the Club Dece forum now. There's really no need for us to have our convos ruined by undece posts any more. This thread has served its purpose, run its race, and now it can have a well earned rest. Btw, guys, everyone worthwhile is now on there. Those who didn't receive invites didn't make the cut. Sorry. 16. I can't help but feel that you might be mixing your metaphors here.
  17. Depending on how heavy I'm lifting I'll rest for anywhere from 1-5 minutes between sets. If you're close to your 1RM and strength training you'll need time to recover fully between sets, so for something like heavy squats or deadlifts I'd say up to five minutes. Shorter rests for isolation exercises, probably 2 minutes max. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Pie & Bovril mobile app
  18. Went for a run today for the first time in a while. Usually don't like running and get my cardio from MT, but couldn't make it there so thought I'd do a ten minute bodyweight circuit followed by a 50 minute run. It sure is lucky the route I chose happened to go by a public toilet. f**k me.
  19. Who's been sexist? Elaborate, pls. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Pie & Bovril mobile app
  20. Just to rant here, I hate when c***s enter stuff onto MFP incorrectly or put calories but not macros. Useless c***s. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Pie & Bovril mobile app
  21. Yeah, assuming the 2400 was correctly calculated anyway. A decent calculation of energy expenditure will include exercise, so logging cardio on top of it only confuses matters. MFP is a brilliant app for counting calories, but it's limited in that respect. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Pie & Bovril mobile app
  22. Mfp calculates macro requirements based on percentages, which is a ridiculously shit way of doing it (I can explain why if anyone's interested), which is why it'll go up if you add in exercise. I also don't think the way it adds calories to your 'requirement' based on exercise is helpful, as if you've calculated maintenance correctly then exercise will be dialled in anyway. It's good for tracking calories (watch the barcode scanner though as it's not always right), but that's about it. 1g protein/lb bodyweight, 0.4g fat/lb and fill in remaining calories with a mix of all three macros (normally mainly carbs). That's really all you need macro-wise. Cowan: long time no speak mate there's really no special weight gain diet I'd recommend, basically just a small caloric surplus and sensible training. 23. I wasn't telling you to eat 3500 calories a day. It's how many I'm on, and I'm trying to gain weight. I'm 100% sure that most people who claim to be struggling to lose weight on an intake as low as this are either counting wrongly, going massively over on 'cheat days' or most likely both. 24. Had you been dieting quite a long time? Your metabolism does slow down as you get older, but dieting for long periods does the same. Btw guys, I wouldn't take MFP recommendations for intakes seriously. Use a decent method like the Harris Benedict, Mifflin St. Jeor or Katch-McCardle equation to work out maintenance, adjust accordingly and just use MFP to track. You can input custom goals, which is what I've done. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Pie & Bovril mobile app
