  1. Just seen this on SSN and thought I had to snap a pic and post it... I believe the P&B parlance for seeing those first six fixtures is PLEASING!!!!
  2. I just saw Charles Green's interview on SSN. He mentioned that he is going to be entering into discussions with UEFA over the next few days to try and come to an "amicable" solution regarding the oldco debts. I found that quite puzzling, as surely the whole point of the newco was that the oldco debts are nothing to do with it! Which leads me to believe he has now been advised he can only use the Rangers name and intellectual property, as well as refer to their history, if he accepts the oldco's football debts. To be honest I don't know why he is bothering. If it was me in his place I'd just say stuff the oldco debt, create a new club crest, rename Sevco as "The Govan Rangers", put them in a blue/white/black strip (with a nice orange and purple away number to make a mint from the hardcore bigot section of the support) and the chances are the orc hordes would, for the most part, be back at Ibrox singing their usual ditties. In fact, once UEFA tell him to do one that's probably what will end up happening. On another subject does anyone know if these very high estimates of Ibrox and MP running costs will still apply once most of the support staff have been laid off? They could probably make some cash to put towards running MP by renting out the all weather pitches to local teams for training, and once certain sections of Ibrox are mothballed will it really cost that much to maintain? The pitch will probably end up a right state though as they won't be able to afford to use those grass-growing heat lamps anymore, and the height of the stands will mean the amount of natural sunlight making it to the pitch will be minimal.
  3. Even if they could somehow organise this logistically (HJ has already pointed out the need for 44 matchdays) it would be the end of Sevco. An 11 team SPL means Dundee and Dunfermline stay in the SFL, so no place for Sevco in there. A year out would kill them off for good. Ok so maybe they could somehow join the juniors or some amateur league for a season (if they could find one with a vacancy) before re-joining a 12 team SPL, but if it's looking like SFL3 won't provide them with the revenue required for them to survive for the season then surely that would be a no-goer as well?
  4. Just seen the same thing on SSN. Very strange. Might the SPL chairman somehow manage to elect Sevco instead of Dundee or Dunfermline? I'm guessing it would take eight votes to do that, which surely would be too many?
  5. So who else thinks that tomorrow the SFL clubs will vote Yes to elect Sevco to the SFL, No to allow the SFL board to decide what league they start in (meaning it is Div 3 for them) and then on Monday the SPL chairman will shat their pants and on Monday vote Sevco straight back into the top flight? Hopefully me thinking that outcome is likely is merely a side-effect of reading too many orcmedia threads...
  6. That's the thing. The SFL should just say "stick yer annual settlement up yer arse ya bunch of bawbags" and proceed to sign a three year TV deal worth > £2million per year.
  7. Pre-season trip to Germany cancelled! http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2832734
  8. Cheers So the list of No to Newco in SFL1 now looks like: Raith Rovers, Clyde, Dunfermline, Stranraer, Stirling Albion, Peterhead, Ayr Utd and Morton. Eight clubs is fantastic at this point. Anyone got any more? Or conversely, are any of the above likely to waver?
  9. Ok, so based on feedback from davej and magnethead I will change the list of SFL clubs saying No to Newco in SFL1 to: Raith Rovers, Clyde, Dunfermline, Stranraer, Stirling Albion, Peterhead and Ayr Utd In addition we have Dundee and Airdrie who I believe will be abstaining next week. I wonder how that will change the required number of Yes votes needed? I have a feeling that Cockwomble will try to convince Longmuir it needs to be 51% of Yes/No votes, not 51% of the number of member clubs...
  10. So we'll now have a full week of Neil Cockwomble Doncaster pressuring the SFL clubs to say Yes to Sevco entering SFL1. Here's hoping that by then we can get fifteen SFL clubs to nail their colours to the mast of the NO camp. By my reckoning we can already count on: Raith Rovers, Clyde, Dunfermline, Stranraer, Stirling Albion, Peterhead and Partick Thistle. Any others? I'm ashamed to say my own club hasn't yet came out with a statement anything like what we've seen from the clubs mentioned above (if anything our statement was almost a confirmation of a Yes vote for SFL1), but our small fanbase seem to be doing everything in our power to encourage our board to doing the right thing!
  11. If the spineless SPL do decide to delay their vote I hope to god the SFL either (1) do nothing, as they don't have a vacancy and therefore cannot vote on anything or (2) vote that any newco needs to apply to division 3. Doncaster and the SPL are welcome to the orcs!
  12. WTF!? So all we've heard today is a secret deal to allow Sevco entry to the SPL, with Neil Cockwomble Doncaster spouting out warnings of FINANCIAL ARMAGEDDON if Sevco don't get to leapfrog SFL2 and 3 upon election, and now Regan comes out with this peach!? You'd think that Regan and Doncaster would have agreed on a common way forward before today's SFL meeting, but no, it sounds like a complete fukking shambles. Oh dear...
  13. SFL Statement: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/i2itcu Hope they release this document to the fans as well!
  14. No problem, I guess if I were to play devils advocate for a moment, you could have a situation where an SPL votes NO, and then next season enters admin because the Sky deal collapses and their income drops so much they can't pay their bills. It would be pretty easy for a shareholder to blame the BoD if their club had made the difference between voting them in or out. I know this is an extremely hypothetical scenario with lots of variables to consider, but the boards of directors of clubs with large external shareholdings will need to consider such a possibility, no matter how remote. Fortunately for us most Scottish clubs seem to be owned by the chairman, so I doubt very much it'll be an issue. Sounds like a newcogers fan clutching at straws if you ask me.
