  1. Honestly have concerns with the keeper. He looks fine… until a high ball. I think he struggles to judge them. Hopefully just needs some games. And I’m not necessarily blaming him for the second last night (although felt he should have stayed on his line). More a general observation.
  2. Let’s be honest, Airdrie playing a team in navy blue at the Falkirk stadium - there was only going to be one winner. My only negative from today is the thought that we’re really not going to have McCabe much longer. Let’s enjoy him while we can. Who knows promotion might means he stays for a bit longer!
  3. “Airdrie’s only shot on target this half” ignoring Dunfermline have had one shot on target all game
  4. Tremendous strike! Made even better by the greeting Dunfermline commentators, who are absolutely brutal btw
  5. Did you get your ruler out? I think we can say it’s inconclusive.
  6. Not commented on Sunday yet but I actually thought we were really good. For me, we didn’t deserve to be 3 down (at which point it’s game over) as we’d started well, were forcing corners, Gordon had a really good save, had a couple of close efforts, then hit the bar…. They (at 0-1) then go up the park and get a second after Rae blocks the first attempt and it bounces back off their player and in (some ball through though!). And after the 3rd the game is over but we stuck to it, scored a good goal and didn’t fold while still playing football the right way. Reality is we went in as big underdogs, and were always going to need a bit of luck (we didn’t get any), were always going to need to take our chances (we didn’t) and also hope that they had an off day, or that Shankland did at least (which didn’t happen). What we got was a lesson in taking your chances by the 3rd best team (by a mile) in the country with the country’s in form striker putting in a motm performance. If we’d scored earlier or somehow managed to swap Todorov for Shankland(!) it might have been different. No shame in that though and should give us confidence for the rest of the season. And we won on corners….! Credit to Hearts btw, you just need to look at the run their on and the table to see that they’re a top side.
  7. You are an absolute tit. There were plenty Falkirk fans causing bother too when they were playing Airdrie (and other teams) back then (and since too). Presume you’re deliberately forgetting that while still being salty about something that happened 30 years ago. Your accusations are as ridiculous as your crying btw.
  8. Any word on tickets for the Hearts game (when they’re on sale or how many we’re giving them)? Games not far away now.
  9. If anybody wants a laugh get yourself over to the Jambos kickback forum and see the Airdrie thread. Lots of Clydebank, John Martins a scab, Airdrie fans are racist/nazis chat. It’s like a mental institution for angry hate filled Hearts supporters. Good to still all those defeats still hurt them https://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/index.php?/topic/203117-scottish-cup-fifth-round-draw-airdrie-v-hearts/page/5/
  10. Ha. We’ll agree to disagree on that! But yeah, we got an absolute run around in the second half in particular that day! I would say this is a much, much better Airdrie team than that one (I’d no real hope going into that game if I’m honest) and we’ll hopefully benefit from the home advantage this time. So I think we can hopefully give you a good game - but no question Hearts are still big favourites. If you could sell Shankland before or rest him that day it would be appreciated.
  11. Yeah but in keeping with tradition you’ve already had a shocker v new Airdrie so fingers crossed.
  12. Did you have inside info!? Pitch inspection at 10 due to “a large amount of water sitting on the pitch”
  13. Not really. Definitely a sense from the majority the game should (due to up to 10k hearts fans going if moved to Easter Road in one post!) or would need moved (due I presume to Ainslie Park being a backwater - it’s isnt). Interestingly only one or two have said Spartans will want to keep it at home to give them a better chance. Almost has if the game is foregone conclusion. btw it won’t get moved. The ground is more than capable of hosting a game of this size, it’ll get selected for TV (it’s not appealing if it moves) and it’s not as if Spartans Hearts is high risk.
  14. And if he’d said in their familiar green away top you’d have been on here too. 3 away shirts in what, 60+ years?
  15. Bloody wimmin running about in their high heels wrecking the pitch…
  16. It was only two nil but we weren’t really at the races that day to be fair.
  17. Goalkeeper sorted - Josh Clarke announced. Proves Hutton is nothing more than an emergency off the bench again (and coach - don’t mean that as a slight against him!).
  18. McCabe did everything he could to NOT play Hutton last season in a lower league. There’s no chance he’s being seen as a viable number 2.
  19. Think that was definitely the view of the majority of your lot last season but I think he’s come on leaps and bounds over this season. Hopefully you’ll get to see that next season when we play you!
  20. Fair enough, my bad. The congrats was one paragraph, the questioning around it three though. And why ask it. The answer of Airdrie is in the UK, the Union Jack is the flag of the UK, or those with a Union Jack flag may be unionists is obvious answer but clearly not the answer wanted. And the narrative is to suggest we are similar or have an affiliation to another team - or at least the sh1te that goes with it. Maybe I’ve not because that normally is the case. Not for me. Not the day after we’ve done something pretty special. Apologies to Monkey Tennis. I’d just rather Airdrie supporters spend time reflecting on a pretty amazing season but that’s not for me to say obviously! I’m neither a unionist or a Union Jack waver but it literally does not bother me what so ever. And given the rationale I’ve noted, why would it anyone.
  21. Union jacks at football games thread for this. If there isn’t one, you should start one.
  22. On the subject of flags, I couldn’t care less. Matters not a jot to me or anyone else in the grand scheme of things if there is a Union Jack at the game, why would it. And the day after we’ve been promoted, let’s not derail this thread by pandering to an opposition supporter!
  23. I think it was only right some doubted the appointment. A 29 year old player manager was an incredibly bold shout (and in that sense, not sure why he then got the stick he got during the season - it was always going to be a steep learning curve for him). Especially when you pair him with his 30 year old(?) cousin as assistant! However, as you rightly say, the appointment has been completely vindicated (I think it already had been going into the play offs to be honest). Thought Fordyce has been absolutely immense the last few games especially btw. And McCabe has obviously showed his leadership on and off the park - stepping up and taking responsibility when it mattered. We’re in good hands. But that yesterday will take a few days to sink it. 91 minutes!!! It was that close. The goal saved the season, got us out this league after 10 years, and finally won us a play off at the 10th attempt. Amazing, and sums the character of that team up.
