  1. I take it when you say our midfielders are tidy on the ball you mean that they pass it to the opposition without too much fuss. If Gibson can pass the ball along the ground to our strikers he will do for me. His set-piece taking will be a welcome bonus.
  2. We were exactly the same against Queens Park in that our midfield spent the whole game passing the ball to the opposition. Our manager has stated that he still has money in the budget to bring in some new faces but I don't know if he has the ability to get the right people.McKernon,Dykes and Gibbons are not good enough for even League 2 and the first 2 were recruited by McMenamin. We also have Brandon Luke - who is he? what is he? where is he? - does anybody know?
  3. Can't see Anderson being anything other than a benchwarmer unless he realises that he has to show a bit of movement and not just wait till the ball comes to him.
  4. I was hoping to come on to P & B and see that McMenamin had resigned or been sacked. His tactics and team selection are baffling and his close season signings are absolutely hopeless. You could get 3 folk out of the crowd that would be a better midfield than McKernon, Gibbons and the anonymous Dylan Dykes. I fear that if our board do nothing all we can hope for is that we take more points off Stirling than they take off us and keep us in 9th place or it's the Lowland League . No doubt some people will say I am overreacting but our performances since McMenamin took over have been anything but inspiring and in some cases like today absolutely dreadful.
  5. We will probably have to make at least 2 changes as Mark Munro is ineligible and I can't see McIlduff being fit. I would agree about giving Anderson and Halleran a game.
  6. I would hardly describe it as a battering. They had more of the ball and Smith made some decent saves but McGuigan hit the post from point blank range and we missed a sitter late on when Cook set up Watters (I think). We started with Hopkirk,Anderson and McGuigan presumably to give them game time and I would expect that only 2 of them will start in the league. Munro and Marsh were solid at the back and McIlduff got better the longer the game went on. O'Neil struggled a bit and had to go off with an injury with 10 minutes to go leaving us with 10 men as we had used our 3 subs. The midfield battled away but were a bit outnumbered and at times they were guilty of trying to be too fancy when a simple ball would have sufficed. The formation and team selection indicated to me that the manager was making sure that as many players as possible got some game time before the league starts. That's the only time I have been at New Bayview or whatever it's called that I haven't felt like I was in the Arctic Circle
  7. First half of the season he was decent but injured his foot and was a bit of a bombscare when he came back. He will win headers all day but not too clever on the ground.
  8. I'm not a fan of Sean Dickson. The only decent game he had this season was against "we won the cup in 1957" and my granny would have looked good against that lot. It's very much pot luck with loan signings but apart from Paton and to a lesser extent McBrearty our loanees have been weak wee laddies who were trying to play in a league at least 2 levels above their ability. Donaldson will be a miss and I can't see Neill, Hurst or Duthie getting full time contracts, they could do a job in League 2 with us.
  9. 2 of his 12 bookings were in the League Cup so he will be ok.
  10. Thank you for your best of luck message. I am sure we will reciprocate by providing information about the League 1 sides you would meet if you reach the dizzy heights of the relegation playoffs. That would come at a price of course.
  11. We won't need that, we can just go round with a begging bowl like Falkirk are doing just now.
  12. Maybe because the board know they are receiving a fee for one of their players.... Maybe we are spending the money Falkirk FC kindly donated.
  13. Look on the bright side - you will have Kevin O'Hara back in January.
  14. I hope he is wearing his Falkirk kit every Saturday from January to the end of the season.
  15. Runs about, usually as far away from the ball as possible. Waste of a loan.
  16. Good news for us is that Kevin O'Hara won't be able to play against his parent club.
  17. Kevin O'Hara has scored 3 goals in his whole career and 1 of them was against us. We needed somebody who does more than just run around especially when he runs around as far from the ball as possible.
  18. The signs were there that all was not well with the performances. We beat Montrose but couldn't have complained if we had been 5-1 down at half time. We lost to Forfar 2-1 but again were lucky we weren't out the game at half time. We beat Airdrie 1 -0 but that was as much to do with Airdrie being woeful as us being good. We lose 2-0 to Stanraer and don't make any substitutions until the last five minutes even though we are down to 10 men. Bomber was a decent guy but I think he had run out of ideas. Bringing in Kevin "the goal machine" O'Hara was certainly not one of his best ideas.
