  1. Possibly the busiest year of trips I've ever had...

March - St Patricks weekend in Dublin for Ireland v Scotland in the Six Nations.

April - Blackpool for one of our kids' dance competitions.

    May - London

June - Five nights at Euro 2024, based in Frankfurt.

July - TBC, wife's 40th, better organise something that weekend!

October - NYC and Las Vegas (wife's actual 40th birthday present trip!)

December - Belfast (visiting family for Christmas)

Cannot wait for all of it. Except maybe Blackpool which I think I could live without 🤣

Just received an email about our stuttgart accommodation, apparently between the hotel and booking.com they have over booked our hotel by 150 rooms and they now want us to cancel our 4 night stay. Hotel is/was a 6 mins walk from the main train station

Which hotel was that? My hotel is about the same distance of a walk away from the station so concerned it could be ours!

The day we start positioning fans to benefit TV viewers at home rather than those actual people paying £25+ to attend is the day we've properly lost the plot.

I definitely agree with that, although there are places where it would benefit the way it looks on TV, as well as the attending fans. E.g my own team quite often put the away fans sitting behind the goals all the way to the west side of it - ie hidden away from the TV cameras and also not in the centre where the best view is. Ross County is usually the same.

I wouldn't want to be forced down the front at Rugby Park though just so it looks better on TV...

It's the worst and often overlooked aspect of the handball rule that any touch of the hand or arm, even an accidental one, which immediately leads to a goal by that player should be penalised. It makes no sense at all that this and only this specific type of accidental handball isn't allowed.

We had one ruled out against St Johnstone last season where a set piece was put into a packed area of players, and the ball bounced down off Kyle Vassell's arm before he prodded it into the net. The "handball" was clearly accidental and yet the goal was ruled out. There were a couple of other Killie players nearby, and if one of them had scored then the goal would have stood.

Was that the same game in which Andy Considine played volleyball in his own box and got away with it?

Two incidents that show the rule as it stands up as the nonsense it is.

  5. Only heard two or three minutes in the car there but it was VAR chat with Callum Davidson, followed by reports of chances at two games and a goal at another, before some clown interjected with more VAR chat before we'd even heard about the actual incidents in the actual ongoing games. Garbage.

It is pretty tinpot tbf. Feb weather will be worse. Going to end up playing 3 games a week for multiple weeks at this rate. Probably fucking ourselves in the process. Keyes/ Nelms needs to sort it out.

There aren’t a great deal of free midweeks available between now and the end of March, and if Dundee (or their opponents that they need to make up games against) progress in the Scottish Cup that rules out the cup weekends as well.

Theres an international break towards the end of March as well so that probably rules out another midweek date.

  7. A few weeks back I went into Tesco (Dundee Riverside) pushing a trolley and following a lady in her late 60s (ish). She slowed down as she just went through the door so I went to pass her on her left hand side. As I moved left I realised there wasn’t space to get past her because the wee Tesco Mobile shop had a sign out in front of it.

So I stopped kind of alongside this woman. She also stopped and looked at me and I smiled and apologised and said “go ahead - didn’t see the sign there!”

I wasn’t prepared for what was coming next.

She went fucking mental. A complete heads gone. Started screaming that I was trying to “seriously hurt her” and that I was a “danger to everyone in the shop”.

A woman who came in right behind me came up to me and asked if there had been an issue in the car park or something - if I’d driven too close to her or something - but no, it was entirely about my trolley being within a foot of her.

Sensing that she had possibly spent the entire day on the gin I said I was sorry again and walked on.

She proceeded to follow me from the front door of the shop to the bakery aisle screaming at my back. Absolutely top of her voice hurling abuse at me. Again, I reiterate, I didn’t make any contact with her with the fucking trolley, I just stopped alongside her with about a 12 inch gap between our trolleys.

Eventually one of the shop managers came along and asked her to “stop abusing other customers”.

To that she turned round and shouted at the poor guy “OH f**k RIGHT OFF!”

That was it for her, she was huckled directly out of the door by several staff. I then had a whole series of people stop me asking what the f**k had just happened. The girl behind the fag counter caught me on the way out and said she thought we knew each other and were having a laugh at the start.

Just a completely bizarre meltdown which I assume was hilarious for everyone else watching 😂

  8. Take McGowan out of the team and there’s nobody to step out of defence and support the attack.

Put Brown in at RWB and you just have no attacking ability on the right.

Take Carey out and there’s no creativity whatsoever - though he has an off night when he did come on anyway.

Just a dearth of quality and pace in the squad, exacerbated by what I presume were injuries to players who have been playing well recently.

We desperately need to get to January and make major changes to the squad, almost entirely in the attacking areas. We aren’t conceding many but we just have nothing going forward.

Also what the f**k were the officials playing at last night? Dangerously incompetent in a game that barely had a bad tackle in it.

That freekick decision 🤣 as bad as both teams have been.

The one against Kane? Genuinely one of the most ridiculous decisions I’ve ever seen. Kane stopped because he was too tight to the man, the defender was obviously anticipating that never came and had a weird stumble. Bizarre for the linesman standing two yards away to give that.
