  1. Had a sensational heads gone round today. Stood on the 13th tee looking on for no worse than an 85, and maybe even lower given there were two par threes and a very short par 4 coming up. With that thought in mind, I proceeded to rack up a 10 on the 13th and a 7 on the very straightforward par 5 14th. Finished up with a 96. FFS.
  2. Is there a map of places where he should have taken a touch but let it slip under his foot and out of play?
  3. For most of the second half Carey was to be found standing roughly where you’d expect your centre forward to be and offering no help to Robinson. The first goal came from pretty much the first time in the second half that Carey linked with Robinson and made some progress on the wing.
  4. I’d assume that McClelland’s header right at the start was reasonably high on the xG score given how close in and central it was. Even Kane’s volley off the bar was a decent opportunity in the scheme of things. For a game where we were totally shit going forward we did actually end up with four or five decent chances all in.
  5. The biggest disappointment from yesterday is that Dundee actually look like a competent football team for the first time in about 15 years. Carson is an excellent keeper, but the likes of Beck, Boateng, Bakayoko and Tiffoney are really good pick ups. I think they lack depth on the bench though, the drop off to the likes of Kerr, Rudden and Reilly is pretty steep.
  6. His substitution is a major part of the reason we got back into it. Dundee’s attack disappeared once he came on. He is fucking rubbish.
  7. I didn’t hate Castelloe - he was offering himself for the ball constantly and got very little help from the full back behind him. Carey on the other hand, needs launches into the sun. He’s obviously contributed right at the end but for the rest of the game he was taking up the wrong positions and giving the ball away constantly. The first goal comes about because for the first time in the second half Carey got out wide and gave Robinson some support. Macpherson absolutely garbage too when he came on. Assume he’ll be well down the pecking order when Sprangler comes in. Kane was a big improvement up front. We need to get him fully fit asap.
  8. I tried a set of Cobras when I was getting fitted for my current irons. The distance was absolutely ridiculous - I was getting 175 yards on the simulator out of a seven iron - but I had hardly any control over them direction wise. Went for Taylormade Stealths in the end which were much easier to keep in a straight line.
  9. McGowan will very much be a case of being pushed down the pecking order in all the positions he has played in over his time, and being of sufficient quality to actually pick up another club without too much of an issue. The other two are a much harder sell in terms of actually getting rid of them.
  10. Matondo and Dessers are miles away from this level.
  11. Yesterday was thoroughly enjoyable for those of us who were on rest days and sitting watching it all on BBC News...
  12. Complete bottle job. Without question if he hasn’t been booked seconds earlier that would have been a yellow.
  13. Robinson has done well for a guy who has Carey in front of him trying flicks and tricks in and around his own box and trying passes that are never in a million years on when we do eventually get the ball. Just play it simple FFS. The positive for the new players is that they all appear to actually be able to run, which is a good start at least.
  14. Is there a legit stream for this somewhere or is it going to require searching around dubious corners of the internet that I'm definitely not at all familiar with?
  15. Always felt Jahmal Hector-Ingram was unfairly overlooked too.
  16. If he's as good as Jennison Myrie-Williams we're surely on to a winner.
  17. Offering no mitigation after a trial - especially a murder trial where a life sentence is inevitable - is pretty standard. If you’ve flat out denied the charges your lawyer can’t then stand up and say “she only did X because of Y” or try to contextualise the circumstances of the crimes. In this case in particular the whole life order was the only realistic outcome so even trying to argue for a lesser punishment part on a life sentence would have been a waste of time. Lawyers act on the instruction of their client so if Letby said not to advance anything at all for her that’s what they’d do. As far as forcing people into court to hear their sentence, that is populist bollocks that politicians should know better than to bang on about. I’d respectfully suggest anyone who seriously proposes it has never spent much of any time in a criminal court. People disrupt proceedings from the dock from time to time and in a particularly anxious case like this an outburst from the dock wouldn’t help one bit. And that’s before you get to the practicalities of physically manhandling someone into court. The private firms who operate court custody services on the cheap can barely get people into court with one custody officer attached to them. They don’t have the manpower or resources for their current workload - never mind committing six people to wrestle someone into the dock who doesn’t want to be there. In Letby’s case it may not have been difficult but it will be of no surprise to anyone that most accused people appearing from custody aren’t relatively small women. Your average custody officer is on a very low salary and asking them to put themselves at risk to satisfy the rage of idiot politicians is nonsense and would inevitably end up in someone getting hurt and claiming a fortune in a legal case down the line.
  18. Yeah that’s the one. That’s a shot I’m often left with - I usually try to approach to the left of the green and get a bounce off the slope down and on but if you’re short you end up with a monster putt or a chip down a massive hill. Knocking one from there is incredible.
  19. Yeah that’s the vandalism I was thinking of An 80 foot putt on 8?! Was the flag still right at the bottom of the green by the water? That is a hell of a putt down that slope.
  20. Hope it cleared up for you. The bunkers were quite compacted on Friday because of the rain there had been. Was nice and dry yesterday and today though so hopefully they were back in play! Hope you also enjoyed the creative weed killer vandalism in a couple of the greens…
  21. Surely that’s getting upgraded? Again, no attempt at an actual tackle, just blasted the guy in the face with the shoulder.
  22. Endangering the lives or whatever has definitely come directly from the charge in the format he has plead guilty to it. The court doesn’t appear to have heard the full circumstances of the case from the procurator fiscal so as all good court reporters do, you fill space by quoting the complaint paperwork extensively. The only reason this has dragged out for months is that Griffiths chose to plead not guilty in the first instance.
  23. And that I did… After hitting a 19 over par 90 yesterday, I did indeed cut out most of the stupid shit today and went round in a 12 over par 83. My handicap index going into today was 19.8, it should be down to something like 17 tomorrow. I was only one shot away from an even bigger cut on the exceptional score criteria. Worst of it is I’m kicking myself because I absolutely should have been below 80. I made a triple bogey six on a par three where my tee shot was pin high five yards right of the green - I managed to putt it through the green and into a bunker, then three putted having got out of it. I also missed a one foot tap in for bogey on the 12th because I just completely lost my concentration. And on the 18th I pulled my drive left then tried a really stupid punch shot through the trees, fucked it and made a 7 when I could and should have just played out sideways and given myself a chance of getting on the green in four. Fucking love golf today Aim for this year was to get the handicap below 20. Tbh now I should be aiming for below 15 by the end of the season.
  24. Much the same for me just now. Last week I was playing a scramble at a mate’s works golf day - absolutely flushed the driver and hit several really brilliant chips from around the green. Today I just completely lost it from about holes 5-13 with the driver and lost half the balls in my bag..
