  1. Ball came off Halkett's arm in exactly the same fashion just outside the box. Nothing doing. Referees are a strange breed
  2. Harsh penalty award but the not debutant Harper is finding it tough
  3. We've got a young team tonight, I'd settle for one or two
  4. I'm glad that Gary Robertson took my advice and pressed Dross on his cowardly decision to put himself forward as a list candidate for the region rather than one associated with a seat. I also suspect that Dross knows, that given previous local pacts, if he would put himself forward for the Moray seat, there might be shenanigans. In answering the question in why he didn't put himself forward, he cited the local Tory who would be deprived of the chance. Thing is, in putting himself forward for the list, it almost certainly consigns Jamie Halcro Johnston to the dole but perhaps not the food bank. Gary could have done more.
  5. Mandy Rhodes doesn't fit the identikit blowhard commentator so this piece in the Holyrood magazine is interesting reading indeed.
  6. I think you'll find that it was a self descriptor
  7. Well it may be a generational thing as it is certainly a well recognised term around these parts
  8. I stuck with that and sage was my nodding.... until the last sentence and the yet to be defined f scenario
  9. You opined about the lack of debate in this forum. In good faith I engaged with you and invited you to consider the fact that the status quo is not a thing. I offered you health as a debating point. It appears that you are unwilling to debate and that's ok.
  10. No, no, I asked if you had a positive case to make to let me know. I'm afraid that the movement away from our consensus does need a justification so if red dotting is the best that you can do, perhaps you should indulge yourself in a recalibration of your perception of reality.
  11. Oh, I see, you are unable to summon even a remote degree of engagement so unfortunately I'm obliged to conclude that you have nothing in the way of a positive contribution to make. If you find that you are able to conjure some coherence, be sure to let me know.
  12. Yes. It gives me a pretty good measure of you. Thanks ever so much for your help.
  13. No no, I asked you to defend the rate of change that is taking us in a different direction. I even helped and gave you an example to work through. You appear to be struggling with this concept so I'm at pains to conclude that you are unable so to do.
  14. Please try harder. Please refrain from insults and if you can, provide justifications for what appears to be a step change away from the status quo. As an example, you might want to consider health care and the prospectus for a westminster and capitalist driven change to what we presently enjoy.
  15. Due to the rate of change away from the status quo of social democracy and closeness to europe, it really is incumbent upon those that would seek to persist with the present political settlement to sketch their coherent future vision. I'm able to be convinced so if anyone can have a go, please feel free...
  16. I'm curious... How do you politely frame calling someone a roaster? In this context, why would you want to?
  17. The BBC are claiming with regard to DRoss: " The Moray MP, who is seeking to win a Holyrood seat in May" And here was me thinking he is standing as a regional list candidate and that he doesn't have the cojones to risk the electorate.
  18. I'm not sure that I was seeking to defend him and I'd have thought what I was getting at was fairly obvious.
  19. and you are certain of his representations on behalf of his constituents?
  20. Judging by his recent interview, it seems perfectly obvious that UR also thinks so. He also made it abundantly clear that he's grooming Cowie for promotion. If he doesn't think he's ready, then I'd agree, John Hughes would be a good choice. I would be very interested to see what the outcome would be if John Robertson was offered a deal.
  21. I'm not telling you anything. Please back up your assertion that he "isn't doing his job". Is he 100% not doing his job?
  22. I'm provest, especially as the days shorten. Would it be fair to ask if there is any evidence that the duties of an MSP are not being undertaken in their entirety?
  23. Whilst seeking no contention, it is incumbent upon an innocent reader to seek clarification...
  24. You'll find out soon enough. Is this the generic level of discourse you crave?
