  1. Sadly what you say is very true. :(

Yes, it is. So why are you and other more "reasonable" Livi supporters not taking the club to task over it? You don't need to ask particularly involved questions: "How can we possibly justify appointing an Assistant Manager we don't need rather than paying creditors?" and "How can we possibly break even in the 3rd division with a full-time squad?" would do for starters!

  2. No they won't. They intend starting at 5p in the £. We can be reasonably sure of that intention and absolutely nothing else.

Livingston has survived as a team solely because of the benificence of its council. Not just recently but over a period of years. The latest few hundred grand is probably chicken feed compared to what has gone before. All because some arsehole thinks it is really important to have senior football in West Lothian. Well Peter Johnston, it isn't!! When Bathgate Thistle had to host Livingston v Plymouth earlier this season, you'd have seen a decent pitch with surroundings that were rustic to say the least. How much could the likes of my own club, or Bathgate, Armadale, Livingston Utd or anyone of half a dozen others benefitted from some of the millions that have gone into keeping Livi afloat so that these clowns can get a free bevvy before a game?

Looking from a taxpayer's perspective, Duncan is spot on. You can call it bile if you like but basically your club is going to shite on a whole pile of people to stay afloat (again). They are going to keep building up debt on crowds of between 700 - 1000 once a fortnight. And there is no way that Rankine and his buddies are in this because they are philanthropists. They intend to make money not shell it out by paying their way (after the 5p in the £ episode). Livingston in its current form is nothing but a bonfire for tenners. Fortunately for the club, it's usually a bonfire of someone else's tenners.

I'm more pissed off with Livingston now because of the behaviour of the council. They were instrumental in getting rid of Massone - to protect the taxpayer as I recall. Getting rid of Massone was necessary to protect the taxpayer ... to stop the debt spiralling. What was not necessary was to then shaft the taxpayer by 'giving' £400k away and letting the whole thing start again. Protecting the taxpayer meant finding a buyer who would pay the debt in full or shutting the thing down before it could get any worse and then selling off the land for development to put some of the 'lost' money back into the public purse. Most of West Lothian would find that a perfectly sensible approach. Chucking good money after bad and behaving like a bunch of shysters is not sensible. None of the new owners has a reputation for throwing money away at a lost cause. There is something in this for them. What is in it for the council (or any of the other major creditors)? If I was HMRC and they owed £500k but offered £25k, I'd tell them to shove it but maybe the fact they don't have any assets is the problem. The council are the main beneficiaries of a closed Livingston as they own the only major asset ... so why keep pumping money in there???

You're local. Why not ask them?

  3. The new team in place WILL pay bills at Livingston FC that I am sure off.

How can you be sure of it, FFS? The figures don't come anywhere NEAR adding up! Try actually reading some of the posts Duncan has made on the subject - rather than just childishly dismissing them as "bile" like a twat - and then come back and explain how you're going to pay all the bills as well as paying full-time footballers on gates of 700 or 800 with 300 season ticket holders??

  4. To be honest, as much as I desperately wish this damn thread to end, the issues would just be debated on the Livi match threads anyway so it's probably reasonable to keep this as seperate from the football threads until such a time comes that my club proves it's honest & fair, I shall sit & pray to God that this is proved sooner rather than later or I'll be dead before the thread!

    ....aaaaaaahhhhhhh............

Thanks for that. Keep 'em coming.

  5. I have no blind faith in this board, after all the past 'hall of horrors' chairmen I'm afraid I will watch & wait for them to prove themselves before I comment. I must admit to Rankine being there as the most worrying part of it though, for me, the way Airdrie fans went on he sounded worse than Massone. :o:huh:

You're overestimating Rankine's involvement at Airdrie. His claims about what he did or didn't do at Airdrie are the stuff of fantasy.

He is a complete chancer who saw a glimpse of a chance to acquire some property on the cheap. He failed utterly, but he wasn't in charge of Airdrie.

  6. To be honest I just wish the whole thing was over. I would have been quite happy for them to have accepted the demotion on Friday. I have no idea why our lot are prolonging this or even the wisdom of it.

I don't think it's beyond the realms of credibility to suggest the consortium want out, but if they just walk away now they look even more untrustworthy than they have in the past (well, Rankine does at least). By going down this route they may well be attempting to walk away absolved of all blame, playing the "nowt to do with us, the SFL just would not see reason" card. Albeit badly.

  7. Now that quote may force him into allowing the poll! :D

Right I'm best to be prepared so should do a shortlist

    Kingfaethesooth

    Duncan Freemason

    Vikington

    Sir Calum Melville

AND180Y (don't want him feeling left out!)

    MCL

(no due to him more than likely being the runaway winner)

Can others add any other plonkers that I have forgot? Cheers. :)

    Yeah. You forgot yourself.

Truth hurts, doesn't it? I like the way you've portrayed yourself as the voice of reason amongst the Livvy supporters on here, and yet here you are showing your true colours, berating those who dare to point out the deeply unpleasant behaviour of the representatives of your club, past AND present, as "plonkers".

Maybe if you lot had been less "plonkerish" all these years you might not be in this shit?

    Just a thought.

  8. Had another foray into the skewed world of LiviLions just now: and another conundrum seems to rear it's head. Livi fans are spouting off all over the shop over Ballantyne - how he must've been influencing this decision, he is predjudiced, how he shouldn't be allowed a say on the committee etc. etc. (Of course he hasn't actually participated in the MC votes... but they don't believe it...!!).

But of course they're blaming Ballantyne - it's the Livvy way. It has to be someone else's fault at all times.

Pearse Flynn was defended on here with monotonous regularity. As soon as he went, it was all his fault for messing up Massone's plans, because at that stage Massone could do no wrong. When the penny finally dropped about Massone, HE became the baddy and they all threw abuse at him.

Now they have their new saviours, Ballantyne's the new baddy, even though he has nothing to do with it.

You couldn't expect to find a bigger shower of deluded fuckwits as you'll find on LiviLions.
