think 3 is a bit conservative. Even at 2-1 I was going to say I don't feel we're a great team to be playing with the wind chasing a game as we'll just launch balls towards Graham which will go out of play but that's game set and match now, even if we get 4 we'll probably lose another 3. From what I can see none of the championship clubs are streaming this midweeks game inside the UK (or at all in some cases) so the games probably fall inside blackout regulations due to whatever other fixtures are on, and I can never be arsed to learn the blackout rules.

I wonder if Adeloye thought he'd get more game time with Graham turning 36 but instead Graham actually seems to be getting more prolific with age. Adeloye's quite similar to Dowds last season for us in that his goals off the bench are in games where we were already multiple goals up (making it 4-1 vs Morton, 4-0 vs Ayr, and 3-0 and 4-0 vs Arbroath) whereas when he's been asked to come off the bench in a game we're not 2 goals up in he hasn't scored once. However as said he's started 2 league games and scored in both of them. Dowds looked great in that similar role at the start of last season but his confidence was completely gone by the end of it and Doolan didn't trust him in the playoffs, think he only got on in the second leg vs Ayr when the game was long over. Loan move has worked out well for him and I'm surprised Ayr didn't try and sign him permanently in January, partly so he can play against us and partly so they don't lose him to someone else in the summer.

Stewart almost seemed too confident, he was coming for crosses he had no chance of getting, kicking passbacks first time on a bumpy surface. Like the opposite of Sneddon. I'd be surprised if he's dropped after one game. The wider defensive issues I don't know how we fix, if Lawless is injured after last night we could maybe try a back 3 as Mcmillan and Milne have got the ability to play as wing backs. Same with set pieces, third goal last night Bannigan is on the post but he's so tight to the post he's practically hugging it. Unlike against Livi, Dunfermline didn't have half a dozen guys who were massive so it's not as if we ended up with a mismatch. We've taken 14 points from first quarter and 15 from second. We're on 9 with 3 to play, we took 4 points from the equivalent games first time round but Ayr will be a tougher test this time although at least Dowds can't haunt us.

Fair point that, it seems to have got missed in amongst all the other decisions. Linesman was definitely guessing on that one as he wasn't up with play. You're also right about the mentality, you could have blown for full time as soon as the second goal was disallowed, the only surprise was that Graham or Muirhead didn't end up with a red card, though Robinson could have.

Well I've learned not to listen to Dunfermline fans before a game who assured us they simply couldn't win. If we play a competent goalkeeper then might have been a different story. I think the key takeaway is I still don't want VAR.

Aye, as scandalous as the second disallowed goal was we've just not done anything since it went to 1-1, three (and counting) goals conceded for the third game in a row, another concession from a corner, keeper issues no nearer being sorted. Dunfermline have been very comfortable second half This ref is a wee dweeb though, just looked at his previous games and he was the one that sent off Akinola vs Airdrie and missed the red card for County in the first leg of the playoff before VAR picked it up.

Aside from the obvious goalkeeper issue, Lawless has been really disappointing, keeps falling over as well. First time I've seen McBeth, looks decent, was terrified to play a forward pass but good assist for the goal. We might have to score 4 to win.

Not 35 years but since we went to 4 leagues of 10 in 1994/5 up til the end of last season so 29 seasons. Average position also included for each season a team spent in second tier. The seasons in top flight / outside second tier should be accurate but not 100% as bit of manual counting there. QoS a bit higher than I thought but other than that as you'd expect. That was (and given my advancing years will probably always be) the most drunk I've been at a Thistle game. Cheers, I'll go through their internal procedure first before using any external bodies. This guy is one of the senior partners so it might be that he can delegate it as it's not hugely complex but there's nobody to report him to (internally) I might have to end up doing it but my issue is that I'm going to have to pay the existing firm for work done and then - even on the assumption the substitute firm are hugely efficient which is a bold one- they might need to duplicate some of the work so I'll be paying twice. Always good to ask for legal advice on here haha... we've been trying to get a hold of a lawyer who's been doing some work for my mum to get an update on the file for about 3 weeks now- I must have phoned on about 8 occasions, sent two emails and went into the office in person with a hand-signed letter last week which the receptionist (who was very apologetic) assured me would be looked at- the excuses on the phone are always "he's out of the office / he's working through his messages / I'll let him know you've called on a few occasions". My mum has also phoned twice and been fobbed off as well. Other than just the shite customer service I'm wondering if he's made a bit of a bollocks of what he's doing. I don't really want to engage other lawyers as then the cost just starts to spiral but what the f**k do I do short of doorstepping him or putting a molotov cocktail through his window to get him to reply? Is there a complaints procedure? edit: we've heard nothing for about 4 months, I've only started chasing it up in the new year though so I'm not being hugely impatient

After a run of mainly away games we now have 4 in 6 at home in a 3 week period. Unfortunately the pitch still looks like a bog in patches despite the lack of game time so can't imagine it'll be great by the end of that run. Keeping Sneddon in goal would be actively hurting the team at this point I think, he needs taken out for his own confidence. Other than that I agree with the changes mentioned by @oneteaminglasgow

Just watched the highlights and you could legitimately blame Sneddon for all 3 Inverness goals, 2 trundlers and flapping at a corner. Defence has to do better as well. Inverness won't be happy with the defending for our goals as well, poor clearing header for the first, falling asleep at a free kick (tho credit to Robinson for being switched on) to give away the penalty for the second and there were 5 consecutive headers in the box before Graham volleyed the third. Never a red card either, McBeth does duck his head down a bit so Andersons foot is still higher than it should be, and it is a foul and maybe a yellow but nowhere near enough force for a red.

Goal of the century so far for me is Britton at Dundee in the cup in 2002 , runner up is Paul Cairney 30 yard chip away to Falkirk.

I'm not a massive Bannigan fan and I would have been OK with letting him go in the summer, but his level of performance across his career with Thistle is miles ahead of Docherty imo. Docherty was slightly better when they played together but not so much it would outweigh Bannigan up til his knee injury. Also Osman was brilliant for 3 out of his 4 seasons with us, obviously the last season was a disaster, but a 75% hit rate doesn't seem like a great example of cherry picking.

My (stupidly over attacking and unbalanced as these "best of" teams tend to be) first team, nothing hugely controversial, maybe Higgy as his purple patch was one third of a season but what a patch it was... ................... Tiffoney Mcmillan (Jack, not Jordan obvs) probably gets ahead of Dumbuya despite being at a lower level due to the latter's last two years of being injured, but Booth was consistent for 3 years which puts him ahead of Milne (for now) The entire front 3 all had a season (2 in Roberts case) where if they hadn't played we wouldn't have stayed up / gone up.
